Hall of Presidents - Now Open

Well, since you jumped in to start controversy to get it shut down right off the bat, I'd say not long.

I can't wait to see it in March and I don't even like Trump. I do like all the SJW types getting upset and screaming at the sky about it, though. The temper tantrums amuse me.

I waiting for the day people start complaining about having the presidents who were slave owners included. I am surprised that never came up during prior discussions.

I think people tend to be a little more vocal about the people who are actually currently affecting their day to day lives. You could really dislike Rutherford B. Hayes but chances are he's not actively involved in any discomfort you might be experiencing at the moment.

HOP is just not the place for a protest. No matter the reason or who it's against. Makes no sense to protest a robot. I mean, the robot can't hear you or respond to you, right? What exactly does it accomplish? I just don't get it

:worship:
I often think folks sometimes forget our country was founded by folks who dissented against authority at the time. It's not a bad thing at all. But it does have a time and place. And should have a purpose.
AngiTN...

You are always the voice of reason! I love your posts!

Because some obviously missed this reminder...

NO POLITICS! If we can tell from your posts whether you support or despise the current or recently past presidents (which party you align with), then your post is political. The moderators have worked hard to keep this thread on track, please cooperate.

Discuss the ATTRACTION, not your political opinions or feelings about the individuals depicted.

I think you're right. But I feel the first change to the show adding a speech by the current president is what started the ball rolling. There were those who felt the attraction was marred starting in 1993. Many felt it was marred in 2009. Perhaps it would have been better if Disney had not inserted the president into the attraction as a speaker.

There are many presidents on that stage that people don't like. Not every president was acceptable to all Americans. I admire the people like georgina who will not go into the attraction. To me it isn't about the current president, I love Hall of Presidents as a celebration of the office and the system set up in the late 1700's - flaws and all. Just as I love the entire Liberty Square area celebrating the early United States even though there were flaws in its people. I am really looking forward to seeing the attraction in January.
I'll go out on a "short" limb and say that no President has been acceptable to all American. I wish the attraction would remain historical and not touch anything political. They don't have to be tied together.
I still think the speaking parts are what have made it most controversial.

I know it’s against the rules to rip a president because it’s political but I just can’t sit here and let this abomination continue without saying something.

Until they kick out William Henry Harrison I will never visit the HOP! That jerk did more to ruin the US than any other President!

It's safe to say that we are experiencing a unique moment in the history of this attraction.

As long as the nature of the attraction remains the same, then the attraction will change no less often then every four to eight years. (And possibly more often, as history as shown. For example, if the attraction had been running in 1841, I doubt we would have seen a version with William Henry Harrison speaking!). Whenever a new version of the attraction debuts, we only have a brief time when we learn about that new version for the first time and react to it, and I thank those who have chosen to share those reactions here. Each one of our reactions (whether posted or not) is unique, and is based on many things. I have enjoyed reading the different insights and perspectives in this thread, and I look forward to the inevitable and continuing evolution of this attraction.

Sounds like Felicia Rashaad ( Better known as Mrs. Huxtable and the director of the Dino Institute in Animal Kindom) to me! I'd bet on it.
I said the same thing upthread! (Post #58).

I’m not 100% convinced it’s her, but
it’s nice to see someone that thinks so too as it proves my guess wasn’t as crazy as I thought! Thank you!
