2026 Moonlight Magic Dates Posted! (and additional 2025 dates as well)

There are two of us booked into a DVC room. So can a MM reservation only be made for two, or can we make a reservation for four and have a couple of local friends accompany us?
You would need to add your friends’ names to the room reservation, and do so before the final MM cut off date to make any room changes. Then you can register with all the names and will get tickets for everyone. Technically we can get up to as many as our room’s max occupancy, and even more if you happened to book another room using your membership.

Are you sure about this? I was under the impression that you could always have at least 5 people at a MM, even if you were in a room that only held 4 people (or, I suppose 2). The MM rules state…

Party Size Limits
A Member may register themselves and up to 4 additional Guests per Membership (for a total of 5)—or up to the number of Guests on their Resort reservation, so long as the Resort reservation was updated with the correct Guest information before the Resort reservation/modification deadline.

This seems to imply that you can always register for 5 and if you have a 2BR or GV, you could have more if they were on the reservation.

I’m really not sure, but I do know they’ve never checked for names on the reservation. I just need to show my Blue Card/ID/Magic Band and we’re all in.

I mention and ask this because I’m presently in a room for 4 but will probably still try for 5.

Decisions, decisions...I currently have a reservation booked the week before the July 20 event for a family milestone celebration. We could delay the trip a week for a belated celebration, but it would definitely be disappointing if we moved the reservation and weren't able to secure the Moonlight Magic.

We've never been able to do Moonlight Magic before and would certainly love to experience it though...

Ooh yeah, tough decision.

I was really torn as well. Ended up moving our dates because the Hollywood Studios option seems really fun and we’ve only done 1 MM so far. Figured it was worth a shot.

Hope it all works out great - whichever you decide.

Yes, you’re right. I forgot about that. And if you have more than one room booked they will accept the total max occupancy combined, but you do need all those guests listed on the reservations.

We're able to make the January one and have a qualifying registration!

Curious to know if anyone has been in the lobby right at the start of Early Registration and not gotten in? Are the chances pretty good if you're online and in the lobby right as 11am eastern rolls around? I'm wondering how much I should get my hopes up.
Don’t get your hopes up

We have a trip booked already that the AK event is during. Will I get another email with a registration link when it’s closer? I got an email about the events but not a direct link for registration.
I have only been to one event and it was so many years ago I don’t remember how the registration worked.

Maybe 50-50.

Each time one of these things happen, a lot post that they are very excited to get in. But it seems roughly an equal number post how disappointed they are.

The registration emails are typically sent out the day before event registration opens.

We'll be there with all of our adults kids and their SOs for one of the event nights but DH and I have plans that night. If I scored tickets, could the rest of our group go without us even though we're the members? They'll all be on the reservation with us in the same room.

The qualified member who booked the reservation needs to be present and confirm credentials to enter. Also, everybody in the party must arrive/enter at same time.

Eta - MM usually starts allowing entry 1-3 hours prior to the event. Eg- Previously events that began at 7pm allowed guests to start entering 4pm. Could you possibly be available to arrive with them at an earlier time? Once you all are processed for MM and enter, you would be free to leave while they stay.

Darn, that's what I was afraid of. I don't think we can be there at all.

It's too bad. DH and I have been to a couple of these but the kids haven't been to any and would love to be in AK at night (they always complain about the cutbacks to nighttime hours across WDW parks).

So the only date for me is the AK one in January. What do you do at AK, when the animals are all put away in their pens?

Where will you find the RSVP-Online link to register?
An email will be sent to all those with qualifying reservation shortly before registration opens.

You don’t actually need that email though. You can go to DVC website and get the link there, and often people post the link on social media once it is released.

We attended last November and there was still plenty to enjoy even though the animals and safari were away. Spent the last hour in Pandora - very cool at night and did those 2 rides without much hassle. Also did Everest and Dino twice each, back to back. We thought Dino might be our last chance and we had the great fortune of sharing a pre-show with another guest dressed up as the scientist character. What a hoot! There were ALOT of characters you could meet too. The winter-y puppeteers were out. We spent time enjoying the snacks and had done Safari and Lion King show earlier.

I’ve done a couple AK EEH in recent years, and moonlight magic was a more elevated experience - like an After Hours ticket, just without that price tag.

So does this mean if I have a 1 bedroom booked for myself and my husband (we are the members) plus a 2 bedroom booked for my sister and her family (4 people plus a baby, but they are not members) all on my points then I can get enough tickets for all of us? Which would be 6 plus a baby. I don’t know if it matters but my husband and I are checking in 2 days earlier than my sister. We will all be there for the moonlight magic date.
