Hakuna Matata March-ing in like Lions!!

Eva, I've asked Lisa, Princessrunner to put something together for you. She is a cert PT and very good with weight training programs.

How is everyone today?

Power Panda has declared war on that 14 lbs I gained over the winter. Charge!

Have an awesome day y'all.

Power Panda:hippie:

Good Morning, TEAM! :wave2:

This time change is not my favorite and harder for me to adjust to. I read an article that there are more heart attacks after this spring forward time change. :rolleyes2

Made it to the gym this morning by 5:am even though I forgot to set the alarm! Bike-elliptical-upper body-inner/outer thighs-stretching. Hope to get Hagen out for a walk today. :upsidedow

Eva- Bummer on not getting to see you at the Martian :sad1: btw I like your Mental Health Day Too! :cloud9:

Have a Great Day!

Good morning team! Hope everyone had a great weekend! We had warmer weather but lots of rain. Woke up this morning and it was snowing! Luckily it seems the snow is confined to the 'burbs because it's only raining downtown. I'm off to the gym and training tonight and hoping it warms up for tomorrow.

Margie - I got your e-mail last night but didn't have a chance to look at it yet. I went to a couple of scrapbooking stores over the weekend but they don't have much in the way of running embellishments. :confused3

Eva - Congrats to you and Jordan on joining the gym! I find it's always a lot more fun to work out with someone else! I didn't know you were taking night classes. Is it for work or personal interest?

Dave - Ouch! I always gain in the winter too. I find there are a lot of rich comfort foods like mac & cheese and apple pie and ice cream that are hard to resist. And on days where it's really cold, I'd much rather watch a movie and snuggle with my guy than hit the TM :cutie:

Jack - I stayed at the Poly last time. It was really convenient and easy to walk over to the TTC and hop on the monorail. I don't have experience at staying at the other resorts (over marathon weekend anyway) but have heard that the bus service is great. I booked my room back in July - at that time all the club level rooms (except for a few) were taken but they still had plenty of regular rooms.

As for the NB shoes, they're pretty similar to the Asics. They had fitted me for a 7.5 but that was too tight for me. I could feel my toe hitting the front of the shoe and I knew it was going to be too tight. The size 8 was great! Which is the same size I wear in Asics.

Mary - More :wizard: for your DD! And for you too!

Scott - Taxes! I still have to finish mine - it's one of those things that I don't want to work on but want it out of the way too.

Lynn - Do you have one of those little laptops? How do you like it? I've been looking for a replacement for my desktop. I think it's only got a couple months left on it.

Denise - I know what you mean when you talk about the Princess 1/2. But not having to do the race definitely makes for a more relaxing trip. That was really nice of Mark to spend the GC on the kids :)

Debra - Will head over to 'Ohana in a bit. For a mental health day - if I was by myself, I'd probably spend the money on a manicure. Or I'd go to the book store and pick out a couple of books and magazines. If I was with friends, I'd go to my favourite cupcake shop by a 1/2 dozen and have afternoon tea.

Ok that's it for me! Chat later everyone!

Eva, Lisa will send you a message, but feel free to contact her also, she said she was glad to help. Lisa has set up programs for Lynn on our team a several over on DR.

Bunny I to would rather snuggle than workout, on a cold morning it's hard to uncuddle from a soft warm person that you love deeply and go out into the cold to drive to the gym.

I had my cereal this morning and when I got home from the gym I had some raw tomatos, mushrooms and black olives with a little salt and pepper.

Dave:hippie:

Hey Eva, I tried to PM you but got a message that says you cannot receive them. I guess you will have to PM me instead. :confused3 I will be on the computer until 12:30 EST otherwise I will get the message tomorrow morning.

If you are still interested, please let me know in the PM if you are currently working out and if so, what you are doing for the areas you are interested in toning. Also if you workout at home or in a gym and if you have any medical issues that effect your lifting.

Thanks!! :goodvibes

Good Morning Team!

Vicki - I got the little netbook for travel, so that I could keep up on boards, as Scott was always monopolizing the laptop when we were in the condo! I do not think I would replace a regular sized laptop with the really little one like I have (8.9 inches) unless weight and size were really an issue, I would have a larger laptop or desk top computer for my primary computer - now, if it is just for travel, and you did not have to do much typing on it, just for checking the internet - the netbooks are great! Very easy to carry around, I got one with a 6 cell battery (Acer), so I can go without plugging it in for close to 6 hours! And it is PINK! And reasonable priced - I got mine for just over $300 - which next to a $1500 laptop, looks great!

Margie - I am also having a hard time adjusting to the time change, I get to bed late, then sleep later than I want. Last night it was light so late, that I ate dinner late - which I do not like to do, I find I don't lose as much weight if I eat later in the evening!

Eva - good to "see" you again!

Connie - I promise I will PM you with our totals as soon as I post this message!

Have a great day everyone!

Lynn G- Good info on the Netbook, my wife was looking at them, for just that, checking e-mail and using the internet and minor things. Her birthday is coming up ;)

Eva- 'Allo, nice to meet you. There are some very nice people here eh? We're concidering the Poly as you said the monorail would be handy. Thanks.

Slow day here today, I think the turning of clocks ahead has everyone tired. :surfweb:

Vicki - I'm going to Real Estate school...almost done!! :cool1:

Dave - Thanks!!! I have to PM her back...my box was full. :guilty: Oh and btw...I've also gained some weight. It's much harder to lose than gain as I've noticed. I've been on full battle with my eating for over a week now and scale won't budge!!

Lynn - Good to see you guys too!! I've been so out of sorts the last couple of weeks!

Margie - I know..so bummed about the Martian. Wave to my old neighborhood for me!! And eat some ribs at The Boneyard...best you'll ever have!

Eva- Good luck on the PT! I'm sure you'll be back in shape in no time.

As for me, 90 minute dance class and 1 hr strength training session. We've moved from working on One from A Chorus Line to Cell Block Tango from Chicago in dance.

Oh and my shoes are dead. I figured out yesterday that they had 400+ miles on them and that would explain why on longer runs I've been getting shin splints. So, I'll be getting new shoes on Thursday or Friday an retiring thes to everyday and cross-training wear. I'm actually glad as this means I'll be going from Sauconys (which I've had issues with off and on) back to Adidas which I love.

Hi Everyone.

Monday is my early day at work 7am so I don't have time to post in the morning before I leave. I also, can't post from work so here I am much later.

Here are a few comments /questions and some of my responses.

Denise, Did you get to see any of the princess?

ME: No I did not. I did see a few women with ½ marathon shirts like I have so I’m sure they were there to run the race.

Denise - I can relate about the little laptop - I am using my little one so that I can sit in front of the TV,and it takes twice as long to type, because I am always having to backspace to fix errors

ME: EXACTLY!

Denise - Did I read correctly? You went to Beaches and Cream and didn't eat ice cream?!?! Man oh man...you are a strong woman!!

ME: Yes it’s true, we both didn’t get ice cream. But trust me we had enough treats, both sweet and Alcoholic to make up for it.

Denise - I know what you mean when you talk about the Princess 1/2. But not having to do the race definitely makes for a more relaxing trip. That was really nice of Mark to spend the GC on the kids

ME: Yes and I got a lovely scarf out of it with little silver mickey heads on it.

We would like to continue our work outs and will probably do that this week. We had another 6 inches of snow today but it's heavy wet stuff so we know spring snow will melt quicker - maybe.

Well I have my other part time job to do, paperwork for Mark so I'll sign off.

denise

No snow here yet, but it sure did get cold today - I waited to take dogs for a walk, and it was only 20 degrees, and my hands froze - I actually ran most of the way because I was so cold! It was a short walk. I then did do my leg routine! We willl see how much snow we get tonight for how long we walk tomorrow!

Good Morning Team!

Am I the first one up this morning? Cold and snow here, about 1.5 inches on the ground, wind will pick up shortly and blow all that away, but will cause driving problems. Currently .6 degrees with wind chill of -9! It will get worse when then wind really starts blowing! The dogs may just get another short walk around the block, and I will have to hit the treadmill, or maybe an aerobics tape today! I will be spending most of the day sitting studying manuals from my job, so that I can teach a class myself next week:scared1: - talk about the blind leading the blind!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning Team!!

Sorry to be MIA, it's been crazy around here. I had the grandkids all weekend and now, I have to straighten up the house and get packed! I will be on the road Friday for Little Rock, AR. I will pick up my SIL at the airport there and we will be having a big Girls Weekend (5 days really) and races! I will be in the half marathon and she will do the 5k. Steve and Susie(Escape) will be staying in the same hotel we are. Susie says she will do the race with me!

I posted this on the other boards this morning:

We are having a Dog Show (by suggestion of Jship!) tomorrow at Hakuna Matata! Post your photos of your favorite dog or dogs! If you don't have a photo post a favorite story, happy, scary, Lassie-like or what ever!! Can't wait to meet your pups!!!

So be prepared tomorrow with the photos of the dogs and Dave, we all want to see the pup from hell and her co-conspirator cats!

I did read everyone's post, I recommend for free weights pick up the book "Weightlifting for Dummies" all the exercises, the way to put them together for the most benefit AND all the different ways to go about changing up your routines. For everyone in the cold, I don't feel your pain, but I feel badly for you. You should see the lovely green showing up on my lilac bushes. Good vacations are the BEST vacations. Stay on property for marathon weekend wherever your price point is happiest. There are no BAD seats in the World!!!! A new business during a recession...fool proof with Scott at the helm. Scapbooks?? Superb when done with the masterful hand of Margie! Mental Health day? All days are great for mental health!!! I'll save my $20 each time for marathon weekend week!!! :rotfl:

Well, this is me :moped: off to get more done. I only have 3 days left to pack! :scared1:

See ya! Connie

I am up and will be hitting the road soon to head home to my DH!:cheer2: Anna is doing much better and has released me from my "nursing" duties. So, home I go. I told DH last weekend that I think this is the longest that we have been apart since we got married and have still be in the same state.

Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed again and getting back to a regular training schedule.

Mary

This is my doggie, we took this photo the first day we had her, she was 9 weeks old.....now she is 10months, and the hat no longer fits!!!
