Hakuna Matata March-ing in like Lions!!

Jack and Margie , I agree the incentives are nice. We do it auction style and last year I got two ski passes and a gift certificate for a fitting and new pair of running shoes. It's great for those days when you think, it's cold do I really want to go work out.

Denise , So jealous of your nice Disney workout. Enjoy your trip!

Any way I did a 35 minute tempo run today. Top speed about 7:30, low speed 9:15 or so, and got in just over 4 miles.

Best,
Jennifer

Jack, What is up with Kemmerer???

Back at it.

Good Afternoon everyone, crazy day here, got called in for work at 7:00PM last night didn't get home until 4:15Am, the dragged my (&^ back in for 9:00.
I need a nap.... I am determined to get my time in on the elliptical later this afternoon.

Scott- My wife and I were flown out two weeks ago so she could see the city and meet with the administration. It was a pretty good offer, but it came down to housing, she also was hesitant on our oldest being in NY when we were out west. So after a family meeting we decided it was best to stay here. It is a beautiful area to drive through and the folks are very nice, but my wife did not want to leave the family farm. It's been in the family for 300 years.

Hello Hakuna Matata! I just stopped by to say hello and find out if you were hosting the ice cream social again this week. I had intended to stop by last week, but somehow it got away from me. Just in case, I brought enough to share:

I'm IN!!!!

Hellooo Hakuna Matata! Thought I'd stop by and chat with a few of my cousins. Congratulations on your fabulous February! :cool1:

I brought my own oatmeal-raisin ice-cream sandwich today, my holy grail of ice-cream sandwiches. It's big enough to share.

Denise: Hope--no, I know--you're having a great time! I love that walkway route, too. So pretty.

Dave: The not-quite-spring motivation is hard for for me to maintain. It looks so nice outside, but it's still nippy. The TM is no longer alluring, if it ever was. I ended up buying spring WO clothes as a bribe to "get 'er done" this week.

Jennifer: Cool news about the points you earn for working out. That's really smart, and the auction idea is fun as well. Great time on your tempo runs--incredible paces. How's the vegetarian diet coming?

Margie: Your gym is open that early? Wow. I admire you for getting up and at 'em at that hour. :faint: And I'll have to take your word on the snow shoveling. I would definitely prefer the scrapbooking. ;)

Connie: Your history of exercise is just giving me bad Jane Fonda flashbacks. Don't make me pull out my leotard.

Scott: I hope you and Lynn's 12 days aren't too exhausting. What am I saying? Of course they are. I hope they're worth it, I guess. Aw, heck. That doesn't sound right either. Just  for the both of you.

Sue: Crossing my fingers for good, raincloud-free weather for you. I dislike rainy weather for outdoor running myself.

Jack: Those are some pretty long overnight hours. It must be tough to adjust your sleep cycle for training. I mean, I get 8 hours a night and still want a nap... You and the elliptical must have a pretty tight relationship for you to prioritize your time together. :rotfl2: It sounds like you and your family made the best decision on the job--just read about it--and for where you as a household. :thumbsup2

Okay, I'm off for a nap, then a little snack, and then some Pilates. Have a great day everyone!

Debra, The vegetarian thing is going well so far. Thanks for the meal planning thing! Every now then I crave something, but it's random things like a turkey sandwich. Tonight should be a real test as it's a potluck dinner at my church, but I'm bringing veggie chili just to be sure.

Yes Mark and I went out for a walk. We did go BW/YC loop, the walkway to MGM then the path around the S/d, YC/BC and back to walkway by BW. Sunny and cool, perfect walking weather.[/QUOTE60]

I wish I had read this before my workout! What a wonderful mental visual I could have had! I'm jealous, but happy for you! Looks like you're going to have great weather for the week. Enjoy!

Tonight I did an hour, 15 min TM, then 30 minutes nautilus, then another 15 on the TM. Fit in pefect while DD was at choir between 7-8:30

FWIW, I hate winter and can't wait for 90+ days (it's supposed to be 2 degrees tonight)

Anne

Good morning Team Hakuna Matata!!!

Is everybody racking up the miles????? Me, too!

Thanks to O'Hana for stopping by again! I will be at the next mixer telling YOU about the Wild Plumb Sparkling Wine we made!

Sue: The easiest way to keep small critters out of the garden and the yard is with cats! Although, they are pretty helpless against a tortoise who lives happily in my garden year after year after year after year.....

Bike work for me , today. It's supposed to be warm but windy.

Make a great day! See ya! :wave2:

Good Morning, TEAM! :wave2:

You guys - Not nice to temp us with all those calories. I have to work way too hard as it is :sad2:

I Did It – 4 mornings in a row! Up at 4:am to the gym by 5:am. It was a little weird to go in, have to turn the lights on, and be the only one there for about 15 minutes this morning. I think I have more energy during the day, but I crash about 9:PM. I think I am getting better quality sleep also. :goodvibes

I paid extra (started March 1st) to have the 24-hour access at the gym-normal hours with staff available are M-F 7:am – 10:PM and weekends 9:am–3:PM. No pool but it is a nice clean family friendly facility.

Taking my little Hagen to Gymboree to check it out - see if it can help burn off any of his abundant energy! :upsidedow

Good Morning team!

Slept till 8am , boy are we on vacation!!.

Not sure what we'll do today but it's a beauty - high in mid 70's.

We may wal later today, but for now we're having coffee, cereal in the room and then off Somewhere...

We really needed this winter break, both mentally and physically, I'm not sorry we came. Thank god for DVC. Never sorry I invested

Just a quick drive by for me today! I haven't been doing much since going to the gym on Monday. I had a bit of a junk food binge and felt really nauseous afterward. Not so much from feeling guilty but I think my body just doesn't like that stuff anymore. I guess on the bright side, I won't want to eat any chocolates or chips for a while :)

Denise - Wish I was at Disney too! Bring back some of the sunshine and warm weather :)

Margie - That's awesome you're getting up so early! I wish I could do the same but I have such a hard time falling asleep before 12AM. How's the scrapbooking going?

Anne - I'm tired of winter too! I can't wait to wear t-shirts and sandals.

Jack - That's a *really* long day!

Sue - The Toronto Women's 1/2 should be interesting. I think they said there are 1,000 runners but from what I remember of the park and the paths - they're pretty narrow. Should be interesting since there will be two way traffic on the course. Didn't know that your DH does triathlons... very cool!

Scott - How are your PADI classes? That has to do with diving?

Lynn - How's training going?

Have a great day everyone!!

Hi Team!

99% of the time I eat well. Today is the other 1% as I sit at my desk with cookies & a coke (regular not diet)! Just need that sugar rush. Must do the double workout today. Went to the gym at lunch. 3 miles on the elliptical & weights. Will do a run tonight after work. Hoping before the rain.

Had a good run last night. A little warmer & only needed a ls shirt & vest. Can't wait for next week with the time change. More light later.

Have a great evening & happy training.....Sue

Wilbur, I totally hear you about the 99% vs. 1% although mine is more like 5 days of the week I eat realy healthy and then the other two I don't think about. I figure, if I burn 2000 or so calories a week running I can afford the unhealthy stuff.

Margie, The 24 gym access sounds cool!

As for me I did 3.25 in about 28 minutes so an 8:35 pace. What's weird is it felt really easy and that's on the faster side of average even for me.

I also did my 1 hour pilates class after.

Jennifer

Jennifer

Isn't this what they call a balanced diet? :lmao:
I'm the same way, sometimes for what ever reason, or craving, I gotta have some junk food, mostly because it's the only thing available at that time and place...
I pay for it later
.:yay: :yay: :yay:

Padi Class was in Denver, an instructor update, I am a Master Scuba Diver Inst and Lynn is a Dievmaster. so we are up to speed again, we have a business teaching diving, times as they are with real work has not allowed for that past time.

Lynn has finished her Census training as she was assih=gned as a team leader.

My work is nuts, 50 hours so far this week, I did not bring any home work home tonight. Kicking back with a Pisco Sour and watching Jimmy Buffett, DVD "scene you should know by heart".

Going veggie would be tough for sure, it's a Wyoming hunting thing, years back if we did not hunt and get a deer or elk we did not have meat for the winter.

Denise, I hear ya we bought DVC in 1991 and are so thankful, lots of great trips at a level we would never have enjoyed. You and Mark enjoy.

I haev been such a slug , so tomorrow it will be the TM for sure in the morn.

I have not been on the boards since last Friday, we had a busy weekend, then I was in training for the Census job, and was gone 8 to 10 hours a day, with 2 hours of homework when I got home. Training finished today, I was promoted to Crew Leader (from Crew Leader Assistant), which means that I get to train a team of about 12 people, and get to supervise them - what fun! I will be spending the next week cramming with books on the training and the address canvassing itself - so that I will be able to answer any questions from my crew.

Weather has been really nice here, but I have not had the chance to really enjoy it, I only got out for a bit on my lunch breaks. I did 2 miles on Monday and Tues, on Wed. we went out canvassing, so I spent 3 hours out on my feet, not walking all that far, but still out for all that time, so I did not walk on my lunch break. Got home too late to walk dogs, but did get a few weights in on Monday, but not Wednesday! Tomorrow I have off, so I can get a dog walk in and some weights as well as house chores!

MaryJ - good to hear about your daughters successful surgery!

Denise - have fun in WDW!

Margie - I am also very impressed with the 4am wake up, I was going to get up early and walk dogs this week, but I never got to bed before 10, and knew I would not get up early! Also, it was windy most mornings also (unusual for mornings to be windy).

Jack - I think your decision to stay was a good one, esp. with a family farm out there.

Hope everyone is doing great!

Hi team, I'm still alive and kicking. The last couple of day workouts and work has taken all my time.

Denise have fun for us please. Think of us as you soak up the sun.

I'll catch up tomorrow, everyone have a restful evening.

Busy Panda:hippie:

another day in paradise. 2 cups of coffee then out for a walk. today is Mark's b-day so we do what he wants. should be great no matter what!

denise

Good Morning, TEAM! :wave2:

It is warm this morning, wet, and humid - it supposed to be winter and it feels like spring. The birds are singing.

Lynn: Congratulations on the Crew Leader position! btw Me too...I have been in bed every night by 10:PM, absolutely NO reading, and lights out by 10:PM

Vicky: Scrapbook is looking good-have you started?

Went for a 3.25 mile walk last night - warm but high winds. It was a tough walk! :sad1:

I made it to the gym again this morning by 5:am, but I sure did not want to go! Did my 15 miles bike; 10 minutes elliptical, lower body workout, and stretching. :crazy2:

Right now I have in too much in this week and I need to do an 8-mile walk tomorrow. I seriously need to rethink my training schedule. A girl (used to be a trainer) told me I need to reduce my weights more and do more reps. Go down at least 10# and do 3 sets of 20-25. Think I will give it a try next week.

Good morning Guys!

Denise, tell Mark Happy Birthday from all of us!!! What a great time, that sounds like!

Margie! I read or heard about a study of walking and running in the wind. It seems that going against the wind truly is a lot more work, but that going with the wind, doesn't help! :confused3 I know that I hate it when the wind gets up around 20 mph or more.

Lynn! Congrats on the job! Sounds like an interesting challenge!

Good morning, Dave!

Scott! I understand the need for hunting. When I had teenagers running around in the world starving to death, hunting was a REALLY BIG deal and a complete necessity.

I think I will have the grandkids for the weekend. Guess I better ger out of here and head to the grocery store!

See ya!

Connie
