Hakuna Matata Chistmas Greetings!

Good Morning Team!

Saw Scott off to Denver at 6am. Catching up here. Currently is 8.5 below 0, wind at 20 mph which makes the wind chill off the chart for my weather station, I think that means below 20 degrees below 0. It started snowing just as Scott left, hope he makes it to Denver before snow gets bad, and that his plane is not delayed too much.

Yesterday was a beautiful day for our 5K race!

We have been seeing pictures of ice storm in New England. Hope everyone up there is safe and warm!

Dave – pixiedust: for good weather in Gatlinburg! And have a great time!

Denise - glad to hear that you survived the storm!

Have a great day everyone!

Hey guys!! Just checking in for the week! :)

Our snow was a big zilch in Jackson...but just an hour south, they got 10 inches...go figure! Southern Snow...so hard to predict and gone in a day. :)

Anyway...

my stats for the week....

3 hours
5.75 miles

I guess my numbers are going up...so that is good! But I have a LONG way to go!

Well I finally put up the tree, as you can see it's a tiny one. I have Mr & Mrs Claus and our pellet stove lit.

We do have some Disney pictures on the wall too.

Jet it the black cat one near the stove, the other one is Zag a big fat fluff ball of nothing! The do enjoy their warm room.

Enjoy and catch up with ya all later.

Just popping in before heading to my parents house. Busy week again this week. I'm perming my mom's hair..the we have to pick up my dress on Wednesday. I have to finish off the favors and buy the champagne. I think we have decided on going with that Barefoot Wine champagne. We bought a bottle last night to taste and it was pretty good for $10 a bottle. Most of our family and friends do not drink champagne and will just use it for a toast. My sister will then go from table to table and finish off what's left. Lucky for me..she's not picky...lol! :rotfl:

Training - My 12 mile run went well yesterday. It was raining and windy, but I stayed really strong through the end. I ran a great negative split reserving a ton of energy in the first half...my last mile was a 9:05 pace. I'm strategizing my pace for the race and I think I've gotten it down to 12 mm pace for the first 4 miles then variate 12 and 11s. I'll finish as fast as I can, but I'm shooting for 11 mm pace for the last 4 miles. I hope to finish just sub 5. I pray that it stays OK for next weeks long run, as this is my final shot to reconcile my 20 mile flop last week. If not..I've actually contemplated flying somewhere warm and running it then flying home...lol.

Denise - Love the pic...you have such a cozy looking home!!

Scott - I used to live right around where you are. A neighborhood that's Detroit city limits, but close to Livonia and Dearborn. If you have a taste for BBQ...go to The Boneyard right on the corner or Telegraph and Warren. It's a dive...but they have the BEST RIBS EVER!!!

Dave - I told Jordan that it is mandatory that we go to Gatlinburg now..they have a store with nothing but PJs!!! He laughed and said...well thats right up you ally. Seriously..if I'm not at work, running or out for the evening...I am in pajamas. I live in them. I even have been known to go to breakfast or the grocery store in PJs...lol!

To the rest of you...hope training is going well and you all stay healthy!! :woohoo:

Good Morning Team!

It never made it above 0 yesterday – at least in daylight – the official high was 1 degree, but that was at midnight! The highest I saw on our weather station was 4 below 0, the official overnight low was -13, which broke a record here. Our weather station said -16. Today it is supposed to get up to 15 (above 0). It is currently -7, wind is calm. I never made it out of the house yesterday for more than a few minutes at a time, twice to fill the birdfeeder, once to clean up back yard, and once took the car up to the end of the street to pick up the paper! Never even made it downstairs for exercise, I spent the day finishing my Christmas cards and working on an afghan that needs to be finished by the end of the week! Brought up a few more Christmas decoration boxes and emptied one of them. Today I have a PT appt, and some shopping to do. I will have to confess that I have not been doing my exercises. On the plus side, so far this morning, I have not been coughing much! I slept thru the night without the codeine!

Denise - nice picture, it looks very warm and cozy!

Have a great day everyone!

Eva, Barefoot turns ut good wine,I like it andiam kinda picky on wine. Thanks for teh Boneyard tip ,divs are teh bestest. Sounds like your runs and lans are going well. TM fr me tomorrow morn befre we leave for the class room. I better get my but in gear and review power points.

:wave2: TEAM!

We did not get a serious storm - no closings etc.
:cold: cold, windy, (wind chill below zero) blowing snow, drifts, roads are very slippery - It's truly winter!

Tonight we have a Severe Storm Alert: Lake effect snow - blowing snow

Having a terrible time keeping to the training schedule.

Is everyone feeling better? pixiedust: pixiedust:

Thanks, Denise - I did PM you hope I sent what you needed.
Room looks great - is this one of the ones you remodeled this past year?

Connie, I am not sure I sent our time & hours but will go back and check :rolleyes1

Eva, bad news the jammies store isn't here any more, but the sock store now has a build a bear section. Erica of course had to have a bear, a panda. You can usually tell our group at Disney by the stuffed pandas sticking out of the princesse's back packs.

Lynn don't freeze, we need all of our princesses.

Connie, glad you are feeling some better, you will be better than ever soon.

Denise, thank you for your's and Marks work on the pin project. Tell Mark thank you for us.

Everyone have a restful evening.

Vacation Panda:hippie:

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't had a chance to check in much lately. I know it sounds stupid but I just realized that Christmas is next week. So I've been scrambling and trying to my shopping done. Wow... what happened to December!

We've had some crazy weather here - All of our snow and icy sidewalks melted over the weekend after we had rain. This morning was nice and mild and I heard the temperatures went up into the double digits but all of that changed by the time I left work. It was soooo windy and cold!

Scott - Safe travels!

Erica/Dave - Have fun in Gatlinburg! A vacation right now sounds like the perfect plan as things tend to get pretty hectic before Christmas.

Denise - Your room looks so cozy with the fireplace! I replied to your other thread. I'll just pick up the pins from you and Mark at the POP meet. I'm guessing that international mail is probably slow this time of year (especially to Canada).

Margie - Yeah I have to admit that I haven't been as faithful to my training schedule either. I think it's much harder in the winter not to mention that things are so busy around the holidays!

Lynn - Hope you're feeling better!

Eva - Good luck with your running! I'll keep my fingers crossed that the weather cooperates.

maroo - I will be happy to send you any of the white stuff that we get :) I think this is the first year that I'm hoping for a green Christmas!

Connie - How's your shoulder doing?

Okay, that's all for me - I'll probably be on the TM tomorrow night, trying to get my miles in!

Good morning everyone.

I am STILL walking around in a fog. I am very, very much afraid I have torn my shoulder again. It has been hurting steadily for a couple weeks now. I will know soon enough. I have a doctor's appointment on the 29th.

Glad to hear the wedding plans are all coming together.

Denise. the pins!

Margie, training is hard stuff.

Dave, y'all have a good time!

Lynn, stay warm

Scott, travel carefully.

Maroo, you PM me with your times and miles if you like!

Good Morning Team!

It's a cold & windy day with major snow coming today & over the next few days.
Denise, I could really go for your warm & cozy room right now. I think work has the air conditioner on also.

The weather is stressing me out. I really struggle on the treadmill & don't find it enjoyable. Much prefer to run outside. Even if the temps. are mind numbing.

Denise, really appreciate the pins. I agree with Vicky just too hard to send over the border. Not sure I will make the POP meet on Friday.
Even through Vicky doesn't know it yet. I might get her to pick mine up to bring to race morning.Thanks.

For all our  take care. Get well soon.
Stay warm & train safe.......Sue

Good Morning Team!

The weather is getting better, it was up to 13 degrees yesterday, today it is supposed to get up to 24 degrees, snowing later. Yesterday I went out walking at 10 degrees, 4 mph winds (calm) and windchill of 5 degrees, I had a hard time breathing in the cold air and only made it 1.27 miles around the block. I am hoping for more miles today. I did have a good workout with the PT yesterday - but it started my cough up again, and I coughed the rest of the day. I am upping my Vit C and Zinc intake.

Connie - sorry to hear that you are still having problems with your shoulder.

Dave and Erica - glad that you are enjoying Gatlinburg.

Sue - I dislike the treadmill also, plus, I have 2 dogs that need their walks, so I will brave all kinds of bad weather to walk outside.

Eva - I am still amazed that you are getting any runs in with the wedding planning!

Everyone have a great day!

Ugh! I'm not in the mood to run ... I'd rather curl up with a book and a mug of hot cocoa (lots of marshmallows please)! But I know I have to get going and run.

Eva - Is it that time already?! Only 3 weeks to the marathon weekend ... I think I still have two more long runs. I want to try and get in at least one 10 mile run (fingers crossed).

Sue - Sent you a PM! I hate the TM too! But I think it might be my only option this week depending on how much snow we get tomorrow and how long it sticks around for.

Lynn - pixiedust:

Good Morning Team.

Had a great run last night on dry roads. Woke up this morning to white, white, white.......more on the way. :headache:
Oh well. One thing we can't control.....the weather.

Busy at work today so just a quick pop in. Have a great day training....Sue

Good Morning Team!

Yesterday turned out to be a really nice day, I managed 6 miles with the dogs, pace was not too bad either, I did keep ahead of the sweepers! Looks like it will be a nice day today also - a little better than tomorrow, so I have decided to attempt the 20miler today:scared1: I just need it to warm up a little bit! I had to go out and get some new shoes, my toes were getting really cold - the shoe store told me that I would be warmest in Pearl Izumi's, which I have worn before, and I ended up with a pair of Pearl Izumi's and a pair of Asics trail shoes (also weather resistant, not as comfortable, but might be better in more adverse conditions). I got them both large enough for wool socks.

Vicki - thanks for the PD, I will really need it today!

It is really hard to be motivated when weather is bad! It will be fairly nice for the next few days, although we might get a little snow tomorrow, but the high for Sunday is supposed to be 4 degrees - so another cold front coming across!

Dave - save travels home!

Have a great day everyone!

We got a big dumping of the white stuff overnight. I wish it would just snow on the lawns and trees and somehow miss the streets and sidewalks - Well I guess I can dream right :goodvibes I woke up early and shoveled our sidewalks, not sure when the ploughs would be by and I think it's dangerous to walk on the streets. Didn't have enough time to do the driveway but will tackle that when I get home tonight.

Lynn - :cheer2: 20 miles! You go girl!! I put some duct tape on the tops of my runners - I've found that it stops some of the cold air from getting in.

Sue - Yep. More snow on Friday :( I was playing with the Wii last night and it said the weather for the weekend would be a high of -11C. I nearly died! I checked the weather again in the elevator and it's calling for a high of -7C. Not great but at least not super cold.

Connie - I'm behind on sending you my miles again :headache: I'll send you a PM when I get home tonight :)

Have a great day everyone! Keep warm :)

I put some duct tape on the tops of my runners - I've found that it stops some of the cold air from getting in.

That's a GREAT idea! I had soaking wet socks by the end of my 20 miler last time...the tape might help with the moisture too. :thumbsup2
