Hakuna Matata Chistmas Greetings!

:wave2: TEAM!

Lots of snow this week - I have shoveled LOTS! With a forecast low of 20 degrees - we are now at 18 degrees. I need to find a movie to watch as it is the Dreadmill tonight :confused3

Connie, I will PM our miles and time after I accomplish that task. :rolleyes1

Congratulations, Anne! Races are different from our training as the excitement and people give us a Huge Boost! :cheer2:

Mary - Way To Go! :goodvibes

Diane - New Computer - as Scott would say - Kwel!

:hippie: I hope I do not keep you waiting too long at the finish line, but NO matter I still expect to see you there! Then I want a massage :upsidedow

:hippie: When do You & Erica leave for Gatlinburg? :cloud9:

Good evening,
I'm watching the Patriots against Seattle and the way the Patriots play make me so mad that I've decided to check what is going on on the Wish board. Today was a day of rest in my training program but tomorrow is 3 hills. Yeurk!

It looks like a lot of you live in cold weather area but I must say that it must be very cold for me not to run outside during the winter. I just like running in fresh snow and I am lucky since I am working mostly the evening shift or graveyard: that means my training is done during the morning.

I'm going back to see the Patriots self-destruct.
Diane

Well we're back. Our flight was delayed 1/2 an hour which wasn't too bad. It gave us time to have dinner before we left. Got home to cold weather and had a bowl of cereal and went to bed. We had flurries this morning but nothing really stayed on the ground.

This morning up and at it. Went to Sam's to stock up on food and then the regular grocery store for other things. Cooked a lot of the afternoon. Nick came over and we had a nice time with him. Sent him home with soup and fiesta pie so he won't starve.

My chest still hurts quite a bit. I had to take pills today to make it through the cooking process. The men were home to open jars and such but it is annoying, good thing for me is that it does not prevent me from sewing :rolleyes1 but the drugs do make me extremely tired. I wore my sports bra today and that helped. Mark may wrap my chest tomorrow for work. I guess it depends on how I feel. I'm not sure if I have just pulled some muscles/tendons, bruised ribs or what and really, what can a Dr' do for that? It's just a waiting game. During the night I had a dream that I was doing the 1/2 marathon and carrying a baby in my arms the whole way. Of course that could have been the pain affecting my dream. I guess that's what it'll be like if I can't get rid it in time.

It's nice to see all our team members checking in. Snow, cold, races working etc, we all have busy lives but a common goal, to stay healthy.

I look forward to Marathon weekend, to be in Disney with my kids, finish the race and the try new ways to stay healthy in 2009. Different exercises and workouts. Those snowshoes are calling my name but until I feel better, they will have to wait.

Well, I"m already in my pink purse PJ's and will relax with the heating pad for the rest of the night.

Dave you and Erica will certainly enjoy quiet time in TN. Just don't fall down!

Take care all.

Morning Kids,

Lynn is getting better, she did a good walk yesterday, I did a run then walked wioth her.

Weather was good yesterday and we are suposed to get some more snow today.

You all are doing great, I better get some work done,...

Happy Monday everyone! Looks like we're getting our first major dumping of snow! I can't help but think it has something to do with my returning my Yaktrax on Saturday. Luckily I did get in my 8 miler on Saturday while the roads were still dry. It was really cold - especially with the windchill. I think I may need something like a pair of wind pants to wear on top of my tights. I kept my water bottles on the inside of my jackets but my sports beans froze in my pocket! They were hard and bubblegum like :)

Denise - The only reason I can think for going to the doctor is to get an x-rayto make sure you didn't fracture a rib.

Nick - Congrats on making it into Sundance! That's awesome!!

Eva - Thanks for the words of encouragement!! It means a lot :) I think I obsess a little too much over the numbers.

Lynn - Hope you're feeling better today

I'm off to the gym tonight which works out since we have all this snow on the ground! Make it a great day everyone!!

Good Afternoon, Team!

Like Vicky, I was able to get out for Saturday's run before the snow. However, I think I chipped a tooth on a sportbean. Forgot how hard they get in the cold.

It was extremely cold on Sunday (around 0 degrees with the windchill) & with the snow we received on Sat. I had to settle for the treadmill. ZZZZZZZZZZ

Walked the dog on Sun. afternoon & he was loving every minute of it. He likes to do a head grind & do a back rub in the snow. I'm freezing & he's enjoying himself. What a goof!

Need to get motivated for pilates at the gym tonight. The class isn't until later. Once I've relaxed for a bit after work it's hard to go back out.

Take care all, stay warm & happy training......Sue

Anyone - have a favorite Cold Weather Hat and Gloves?
You know when it starts to get Chilly - under 20 degrees -

Margie dear chilly starts at under 60 degrees.

Hi y'all.

Happy Panda:hippie:

What a rude awakening today. 9 degrees when I left the house with a wind chill of -15. A tough way to come back to reality from WDW.

I can't stand not working out because of my chest so tomorrow I've got a 9:15 am Dr's appt. to get the ok to start. Still in a lot of pain in my side and chest area but only when I move or breathe deeply and we kind of do that a lot when powerwalking.:cutie: Connie, I don't know how you have the patience to deal with the pain and inactivity caused by your shoulder.

Maybe they can give me some exercises to make it all better. I'm starting with my primary provider then if I"m not happy, I may go see the Dr; that helped me with my neck.

Well since I can't work out, I"ll head over to the TV area and do some sewing. I've got the DVR set for Boston Legal, the final show looks funny. I think I've only seen 2 or 3 shows but have to watch it tonight. Mark and I enjoyed it in WDW last week but it's on too late for us 4:30 risers!

Have a good night.

Margie - I like Lululemon's running cap and gloves. The hats have a tight fit so they look a little funny (on me anyway) but they have a little ponytail port at the back :) The gloves might leave your hands feeling a little chilly at first but once you get warmed up, they're great! I use to take DF's running gloves because they were warm but once I started running, they got to be too hot and I had to take them off.

Not sure if you have Lululemon stores in your area but I'm pretty sure they do phone orders. :) http://www.lululemon.com

Good morning team.

Denise dear what ever happened to you? Did you get hurt or sick? I'll have to back track and find out what happened.

Margie, if you are going to try to get a massage we can wait for Robert and Linda to come in also. They will be well behind you.

Scott is doing the Goofy so this year is a huge event for him.

Everyone have a super day and stay warm.

Pup gets a personality change today.:)

The older it gets the less it looks like a yellow lab and the more it looks like years of unplanned dog fornification. Imagine a yellow pit bassett blood hound. Right nowe it's all lanky legs and big feet.

Happy Panda:hippie:

Good Morning Team!

It was a struggle but made it to pilates last night.

Lots of snow this morning. They're calling for rain/snow this afternoon. Will most likely be running on the treadmill.

Vicky, you know I have to blame you for the latest snowfall. If you had kept the Yaktraks we wouldn't have seen any more snow all winter.;) Just kidding.

Margie, I've got the Nike version of the skull cap like Vicky recommended. Love it.
I think the fabric is great. It doesn't itch like a fleece cap does.

Have a great day.....Sue

Sue - You're so funny! I think everyone does :rotfl: My PT and I were laughing about that last night. On the bright side - at least it's not as cold as it was last weekend ;) I was walking to the bus stop this morning thinking that I'll have to go back and rebuy the Yaktrax because who knows when Toronto will send out the sidewalk ploughs  On the subway, I saw a guy running down Yonge Street near Davisville. I'd be too afraid to do that!

Denise - Hope things go well at the doctor's!

Dave - Now you have my imagination going ... you have to post some pics of your puppy!

Anne - Congrats on your 10K and a great time! Sorry I missed your post before.

Diane - Any snow in your neck of the woods?

AFM - I went to the gym last night and got in a tough workout, lots of core and arm exercises. I will probably be on the TM doing some speedwork and then back out for some Christmas shopping!

Have a great day everyone! Stay warm :goodvibes

Good Morning Team!

We got another dusting of snow last night, most of it blew to Nebraska! It is cold and windy this morning, but should at least be sunny later, so I will put off my walk until this afternoon.

Margie – glad the sunscreen worked for you!

Denise – good luck with the doc appt!

I like the fleece gloves that Sahalie sells, I use them as a base layer under mittens when it gets colder, I see that now they have a fingerless glove with mitten over style that I may try out. A few years ago I bought a fleece ear muff with attached visor from them, I still wear it with a hat over it in the winter.

I broke down and went to doc on Friday – I have viral bronchitis – so nothing to do for it except normal liquids, rest, avoid cold air :lmao: , etc. I did get some cough medication to get me thru the night. He said I should be better by the end of the week as this normally only lasts a couple of weeks:scared1: I am feeling better, Sunday went for a 3 mile walk at a 17:50 pace, yesterday I did 3.5 miles at a 16:00 pace, so doing better. I am still coughing a lot, but at least I do not feel so bad. Today I am planning a 4 mile walk – trying to slowing increase distance until I can do my normal 6 miles. Hopefully I will be healthy enough to do the 20 miler scheduled for next week!

Have a great day everyone!

Hey team!

Busy day here in airport land...though, this time of year gets bad for any clerical worker I think!! I ran my 20 miler on my one day off this week. It didn't go well, but it went. A surprise snowstorm hit us Saturday evening and the roads were just a mess Sunday morning. So I headed for the rail trail thinking that the gravel below the snow would make for better traction. BOY WAS I WRONG! It was a sheet of ice covered in untouched snow. Some places where it had drifted it was about 4 inches deep! I ran the 3 mile length of the trail back and forth. My ankles ended up hurting so badly from the strain of the give in my step that I walked most of the last half. I was upset with myself...but still glad I completed it. I'm truely hoping that my next 20 miler (Dec 21st) goes better so I have that build up for the big day.

Lynn - Take care of yourself!!! PJs and hot soup for a few awhile!

Dave - Your pup sounds adorable!! I second Vivky's request for pics!

Uttt ohhhh...back to work.....

Take care all!!!

Dave I fell at Disney last week. Mark and I were doing our morning miles and we were going quite well when I said I'd like to slow down and do one more lap around the BW. He didn't believe me and had me check the time. While looking at my watch I tripped on a little rise on the bridge between the YC and the BW and fell on my knee. I had road rash - bleeding etc. Later that day I noticed that my arm was hurting and having trouble breathing. It got worse. Now under my arm, under by left breast and center chest hurt. It is better but not gone and my strength in my left arm is greatly diminished and I am a lefty! So I start PT today - will visit my friends who helped with my neck. They did a great job so I look forward to them helping me again.

I was worried that I could not continue to train because we did go out for another walk later last week and boy did I feel it in my chest. So Dr's said that the PT would evaluate me and let me know about working out.

It was not a stellar vacation. Mark came down with a nasty cold and now has lost his voice.:rolleyes1

The good news is that our Pellet stove arrived and doesn't that sucker heat the whole house! It's fab. Love the fireplace look of it and so romantic - of course any thoughts of romance are out the window with my pains and his cold. Ahh such is life.

Oh and a yellow lab, my favorite dog. Had one growing up named Zipper, she was absolutely the best, but with the hair in the house of 3 cats - 1 a long haired, I highly doubt a dog is in the future.

Take care all, I"m on the mend.

denise

Denise, feel better. Our vacation to the ToT race was not the best either as I came down with a cold, which has been coined the "Panda Flu", now when anyone has a cold over on DR they say they have Panda Flu.

Erica is working an extra 12 hr shift today and I'm working a 12 hr shift also so we will be gone all day. Must make disney money.

Eva, you will be a married lady here soon, oh the hearts that will be broken because the pretty princess has chosen a mate. We are so happy for you.

Are our pretty Canadian princesses snowed in yet?

Margie I saw on the news that there was a snow stormk coming your way also.

Lynn, I know if you get snow it all blows to Nebraska.

Y'all have an awesome day.

Working Panda:hippie:

I got a busy day or two here at work, so Lynn you are in charge,

Hope all are well or getting better,

Off to Detroit next week so I gots to get stuff done here these next few days.

Sat we have a 5K so I hope the weather is good.

Better get after it.

Good morniing team, sorry to be MIA. Seems like I am walking around in a fog lately. I can't seem to get the things done I want too and just feel exhausted at the end of the day.

Denise, I hope everything works out in PT. I have discovered that part of my hip problem and neck problem are directly related to my shoulder! When it gets really aggravated (the way it does doing PT exercises) my hip and neck hurt too. I am back on the couch from time-to-time so that I can have my back supported and relax a little.

Margie We have 2 foot of snow here this morning. It was one nasty day, yesterday. Although, all the little birds were sure happy to have a birdfeeder with suet that they could get too! Now, if a red cardinal will just show up I will be happy!

Well, I'm off to put in 3 miles on the TM! Make a great day!
