Hakuna Matata Chistmas Greetings!

Eva of course we will find you dear.

Margie, fear not the sun will be warming you soon.

I have been saving hugs for team mates.

I hope that Erica and I get the chance to spend some time with each of you wonderful interesting people.

Party Panda:hippie:

PS to Eva - Training in Michigan right now is VERY limited and must be indoors! I am seriously under trained - weather, ankle, and little guys interfere with the any/all training schedules!

PS to Vicky - THANK YOU my little Hagen is better. Dress in layers and stay warm!

Never fails - now my gas oven just quit-what's up with that! Good thing Christmas baking is not a serious issue, as getting a repairman this week might be a challenge.

:upsidedow

Morning everyone! We had more of the white stuff overnight but I don't think it was as much as what we got on Friday. It still was enough to blanket the sidewalks and roads and I don't think there have been any ploughs by on the side streets yet. I only have a 5 miler scheduled so I'll probably run it on the TM.

I only made it to 6 miles yesterday :( I doubled up on everything except my gloves and my hands hurt so badly, I didn't think I could have lasted another 40 minutes outside.

Eva - Congrats on finishing your 20 miler! I had the same thoughts as you about marathon training for January. I really want to do that marathon one year but don't think I could actually do all thos miles. Good for you :)

Margie - That is super chilly!!! If the weather is that bad, there might not be anyone working in stores even if you were able to make it out. Glad to hear that Hagen is feeling better!

Dave - How many days away are we from the POP meet? I'm looking forward to meeting everyone as well!

Ok, I'd better get off the computer and start running! Have a great day everyone! Stay warm :)

Just too darn cold and windy here to venture out, I pulled a back muscle or a spasim or something, resting using the Stick and will hit it with some bio freez. feels ok when I get moving.

I do hope ya all are staying warm,

Eva, you are doing great, just think how warm it will be in FL for all of us frozen northern folk.

Well we ventured out today to finish up our "shopping" and then back home to snuggle by the fire. It has not stopped snowing since Friday!

Mark has the plow ready to go on the P/U truck but until the city comes by and buries us, we're not budging, why do it 2x.

No walking today and I'm getting cranky. Found a wii-fit and a couple of programs so I should have everything by Christmas up and ready to go.

If you received a PM from me, I need additional information for the pins. IF not your all set. We wanted to do those today but Mark wanted to go and come back home not head to his shop so they won't go out tomorrow as I had hoped.

But I did send Jeff Oh some $$ for some tattoos and he already got the $$ from NH to Hawaii in just a few days so I guess the P.O. is on top of things. So in addition to the pins, we'll have WISH tattoos on the day of the race.

Well I'm off to finish my chores. Take care, stay warm.

Hi everyone!

I've finally recovered from exams. I used my running to clear my head while studying, so I'll have to look up the miles to post.

After a couple of days off due to finals and travel, I did a 3.25 miler at an 8:30 pace.

Hope everyone is handling the snow well!

Jennifer

Welcome to Monday Team!!

Had an action packed Sat. & actually skipped a run.
Not runable outside & did a 10 miler on the treadmill while watching The Polar Express.

Very unpredictable weather over the next week
more snow....rain....Saturday's temp is calling for the low 40's. Just trying to reevaluate the next 2 weeks of training. Between the weather & the holidays I want to get in a good long run (10-12 miler) outside.

This late fall/ early winter training is getting harder & harder. I've already said i would commit to Goofy for 2010 & then that's it for winter training.

Stay healthy, train safe & stay warm. It's a really cold one here today.....Sue

Morning Kids, was a cold weekend here, only got out a little, not as much as we should have.

I am really excited about Christmas, can't wait till Christmas morning....

Catching up after a weekend of not being on the computer!

I, too, am finding it more difficult to get out for walks in the cold weather, I do not remember it being so hard last year. Of course, the bronchitis is not helping at all. Walking in warmer weather makes it feel better, but the really cold air just makes me cough more. I am feeling very undertrained for this race!

It was not as cold over the weekend as forecast, but still cold, wind chills below zero or near zero. It was very windy on Saturday, calmer on Sunday and we made it out for a short loop with the dogs. I did get my leg exercises done both Sat and Sun! I do have trouble doing them every day - I think all those years that I was told to do weights every other day, not every day, is ingrained into my skull (not to mention that I was never fond of weight training to start with) - makes it difficult to do the weights every day. I just have to retrain myself!

I am ready to haul up all the packing stuff from the basement and set up my "packing room" again - but right now it is my Christmas present wrapping room! Part of me is very ready for vacation, the other part wishes it was still a few more weeks off so that I could get some more training in.

We are both in Corral G for the marathon, Scott will easily move to a faster corral, I would like to at least move up to Corral F. I need to put as much time as possible between me and the sweepers!

Have a great day everyone!

I must be getting used to the cold. It was 15 when I left and didn’t think it was all that bad. Of course the wind has not picked up yet – that will be later. Blowing and drifting snow is oh so lovely.

I’m at work at the moment so I have to be quick. Hope you all have a great day, a stress less week and a fun-filled weekend.

I have a date with quilt friends tonight. I should be getting ready for the holiday but with them, our laughter makes us relax and then the rest of the week is taken care of with a smile of memories. Good friends are a blessing.

I saw this quote on the boards months ago, and I printed it in red and taped it to my keyboard it will carry us through the next 3 weeks.

There is no such thing as last. In every race, there is an invisible crowd of thousands behind you who didn’t have the guts to start.

We have started, now lets finish it!

Sue - I couldn't believe how chilly it was when I stepped outside this morning! Luckily, I was getting a lift downtown because I wouldn't have been happy waiting for the bus! I went out running on Saturday and froze my fingers off (literally)... I forgot to double up on my gloves and my hands hurt so badly I had to turn around at mile 6. I'm still trying to fit in a 10 miler as well. I'm not happy that this weather isn't cooperating with us
:rotfl:

Denise - I love that quote!

Lynn - More PD for you :wizard: My DF is really undertrained too - he says his goal is not to get caught and put onto the sweeper bus :goodvibes

Hi guys!

I was just reading Panda's team letter, I happened to mention that I would once again be willing to pick up the gauntlet to be captain once again. However, I am more than willing to turn the reigns over to another if they would like my job. So if you are interested, Be Our Guest, be our guest....

So sorry to hear about the cold weather! It's cold here, too! and windy, really, really, windy!! and yucky! and even with the TM in the garage it's unbearable out there, so I returned to my workout roots and took up the Walk Away the Pounds 5 mile advanced walk with Leslie Sansone. I put the pedometer to it and sure enough, it was 5 miles! Beats freezing your back end off, unless, you WANT to freeze your back end off!

Denise, an extra special thank you for the pins. I will put it on my Disney Lanyard to be seen anytime I visit the world. I am so sorry you won't be at marathon weekend in 2010. I am going to go really Goofy! We will meet someday, somewhere, just keep wearing the green, and magic will bring us to the same race someday!

Well, I am off to finish the dishes, everyone stay warm, Stay healthy! Talk to you tomorrow and hopefully I can catch up with this thread!

Connie dear of course we would want you to lead the group again, I'm sure if anyone wanted to help you that you would welcome the help.

Everyone in case you are not back again until after, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Hugs to our princesses and an ear scratch for their pups and kitties.

Scott, safe trip to you my friend.

Ok off the darn computer and to the gym with my pudgy self.

Have a day filled with the warmth of love and caring.

Good Morning Team!

Vicki - Yes, I have to say that my goal is to stay ahead of the sweepers! I will try to get into the corral ahead of the one I have been put in where I know more of the people. I do not want Dave to think that he has to hold back for 2 corrals just because of me!

Denise - I would normally find 15 degrees not bad myself, but with the bronchitis, it seems that any air colder than about 25 degrees makes me cough more, if it is warmer, then the exercise feels good and I cough less! Hopefully, I will finally be over this before the marathon! The weather will force me to use the treadmill after a short outdoor walk with the dogs. And I really like your quote also!

My PT cut me loose yesterday, she said I can do everything at home that I have been doing in the office. She also said that I do not have to do leg exercises every day, but can go to every other day. Now I just have to make myself keep up the regime!

I guess I will have to go find Dave's team letter so I can respond to it!

:santa: Merry Christmas to all! :santa:

Have a great day everyone!

Good Afternoon Team!

What a surprise! It's snowing again. It will be a tm run this evening.

The gym was dead last night. Only 2 of us for pilates. A nice private class.

Short work day tomorrow. Yeah! Shopping is finished. A little bit of wrapping to do. Need to fit in some running around 2 days of eating.....too much!!

Wishing everyone the Merriest Christmas. Enjoy.......Sue

Well they won’t be delivered in time for Christmas but this is what they will look like.

ry%3D400

Hopefully – this weekend, after the Holiday, Mark and I will go to the Post Office and mail them out. I’m thinking of wearing mine on my WISH hat or visor during the race then on my shirt or jacket the rest of the weekend. So if you see me at the Expo or walking around the park or your fellow teammates, make sure you say HI, your name will be evident.

I’ll be checking in now and then and will post for sure when they are in the mail but I do have all the family over on Christmas day so by Friday I’ll be ready to head out and be with Mark – just the 2 of us and a romantic trip to the Post Office. Between now and then we’ll be busy.

Merry Christmas to all,

denise & Mark

Denise, the pins look awesome!!!

Today, I did 3 miles in 25 minutes.
In case I don't post again before then (which is likely) I hope everyone has a safe and healthy Christmas! And Happy Hanukkah (or other winter holiday) to those who celebrate that instead!

Jennifer

Merry Christmas, TEAM! :santa:

Thank You, Denise & Mark - Love the Pins! :thanks:

:hippie: oops...I guess I missed the Team letter too!

Getting more snow -

Merry Christmas Eve!!!

First, old business.....I am missing so many miles and hours for December that our page looks more blank than filled! Please, Please keep in mind that the game ends on the 31st. We need to get the data in. We are still running a close second on time, but if we had everyone, we might well be in the lead!

Here it is, Christmas. NORAD says that Santa in near New Zealand right now. He's really got a long day ahead of him. Did you know that all of Santa's reindeer are girls except for Rudolf? Yup, that's why Rudolf is the only one without antlers. In reindeer, the females have antlers in winter and the males have antlers in summer! :santa:

I believe that we have freedom of religion, not freedom FROM religion. As celebrate this Christmas, I will pray for our team. May God bless and keep each of you this joyous Christmas season. May your hearts and minds have Peace on Earth.

Love, Connie
