Hakuna Matata - Bustin' out in June!

Thanks for the Congrats everyone! The state pageant isn't until November so I still have sometime to get ready. I'll be upping the strength training to get some more tone for the pageant.

Today we hit a record 102 degrees, so I had to work out in the gym. It was still 90 degrees at 8 o'clock tonight.

5.25 miles in 43 minutes on the treadmill, followed by 20 minutes of strength training.

Hope it wasn't too hot at Everest!

Margie, I empathize about opressive air!

Regina, That has got to be the craziest story in a store I have heard.

Good Morning, Team! :wave2:

Sun & Clouds – High 83°; Humidity High 90 %
Scattered Thunder Storms tonight.

Connie- Hope you guys are feeling better today! :flower3:

Dave- seen a picture of Sally on Facebook
She's a little cutie! :cutie:

Jennifer- Are you working with a trainer? :woohoo:
I do not do well with Hot & Humidity! :sad2:

Mike, Liz, & Gerry! Eager to hear your race
report and see some pictures! :goodvibes

Regina- :thanks: My Little Hagen:
the Pediatrician calls regularly to get the updates on his progress.
And then DD has to call her – she told us it would take a month.

My Walk:  yikes – the humidity was terrible almost 90%.
For the conditions the walk was good. A very Slow first couple of miles up hill.
Then Mile 3/13.46 & Mile 4/14:54 ending with slow cool down Mile 5 of 17:53

:cool1: The other WISHer here in Portage MI, Nikki is so Nice
and truly a great walking Buddy. We seem to be close in pace.
Plan to walk with her Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Sue- we are eager to hear how DH did on his ride this weekend!
That's a amazing 100 miles a day. :worship:

Vicky- Are you home resting?

Back from Everest!

5k but more like a 10k when all said and done

5k time was slower than lately but maybe 4 obstacles had something to do with that?

After 5k, back in the park and all around finding and solving clues--which i logged another couple of miles.

I did need to cool off so back to Kali River Rapids in search of getting soaked.

Back in car--my gps said over 6 miles.

DS 10 and I finished 98th out of 152 of the men's teams

Congratulations, Gerry & DS!

WTG- Great Finish...We Are Proud of you guys!!! :cheer2::cheer2:

Thanks so Much for your Report and sharing the picture.

That's a great finish for the Everest. I wish I had been able to do it. I did get to do the Tower of terror though, twice.

Margie, I'l thrilled that you found a walking buddy. My group keeps me motivated.

Happy Monday Team!

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Margie, I'm riding the same bike as your niece. I love it also. It's a women's specific bike. DH had a great weekend. 4000 riders & they raised over 16 million $. They really lucked out on the weather considering how stormy/ rainy it was. DH's best friend who he was riding with is currently battling cancer so it was a very emotional weekend.
Glad to hear you are able to team up with a walking buddy.

Vicky, Have you returned safely from DC? Did you get in any running?
I see they were busy on the weekend downtown. Our tax $ are building quite a nice fence. :headache:

AFM, I might be home early enough for spin if not I will be doing my usual yoga class.

Need to run. I have a meeting. Have a great day everyone........Sue

Hi Team!

Hope everyone’s well. It was a beautiful day here until about 20 minutes ago when it started thundering and raining.

Hope- How’s the shoe shopping going?

Jennifer- Yes, it was definitely pretty crazy!

Margie- That’s great the pediatrician calls regularly to get updates on Hagen. Sounds like you guys did great for 90% humidity! I definitely wouldn’t have wanted to walk in weather like that! It’s awesome you found a WISH walk buddy in your area.

Gerry – Great job at Everest! Hope DS had a great time!

Sue- Hope spin or yoga went well. Seems like you are always working! They must keep you pretty busy up there!

AFM, will be doing a 3 mile run tomorrow with DH and the dog after work. I can’t believe we’re already half way through June! DH and I bought our plane tickets for Wine and Dine yesterday and switched hotel reservations last night so we are getting excited about that! One step closer to October!...:woohoo:

Hi Team!

Hope- How’s the shoe shopping going?

Shoe shopping is slow. Too many choices, I'm not going too daring with my heel height. Four inches is insanity. The new 'trainer' heels have been working well. Nick and I went shopping and I survived a pretty impressive length of time while walking around.

Veil is good! Linky goodness

Hope has the gulf oil spill affecting your fish supplies and prices? I saw where there might not be any more oysters for several years and shrimp will be very expensive.

Dave:hippie:

Margie, I had the trainer at my gym design a workout for me (he does it free of charge). I'm naturally lean, but I really want to gain more definition in my abs before November.

I pretty sunburned from being out by the pool so much.

Did my long run today. 10 miles in just under 90 minutes.

Best,
Jennifer

Hope has the gulf oil spill affecting your fish supplies and prices? I saw where there might not be any more oysters for several years and shrimp will be very expensive.

Dave:hippie:

Right now there hasn't been a large impact. Only two of my products come from that area and they are frozen so that might have been caught before the spill. It's just two sizes of gulf shrimp. The bulk of my product comes from northern waters, including oysters. I'm not sure how much it'll change my prices since the spill is only directly affecting gulf shrimp (of the products I carry--I know the spill itself is devastating to many other seafood products). I think the oyster demand will shift and might cause over harvesting in northern waters. One of the perks of gulf oysters is they don't really have a dormant stage so they tend to grow faster and they seem to not have as many problems with diseases as northern water oysters. So that change might cause an indirect price jump. Either way, I can only see the effects through really those two products at this time. Depending on how widespread the spill gets, it might change.

I had more of a problem with the earthquake in Chile and volcano eruption causing supply problems and driving up prices.

Good morning team.

I'm headed out for a 5 miler. It's hot and humid already so I'm going early.

I'm at war with a case of PF on my right foot but I'm winning my war against the achillies tendonitis on my left foot. I'll beat the PF also. I all about staying regular with the stretching. Every day!

Dave:hippie:

Good morning, HK!

I have a few minutes while Jon is still sleeping. He is pretty miserable. I am afraid he has been trying to do to much and making me do to much along with him! The hired hand left us with a mess and in a mess. We are having to deal with that on top of everything else. I am not contractor or builder, but I guess I am learning. :sad2:

Riding a horse or mule burns 300 calories an hour. :confused3 I am amazed! Turns out it is one of the best overall workouts!

My tendonitis is greatly improved. I think it's because of the cowboy boots.

THanks for all the Congrats on our anniversary. We did manage lunch out.

Great photo, Gerry. Hope you had a blast, Vickie. Get well, Dave. Thanks, Margie. Been reading about that bike, Sue. looks good. How did you do, Mike? happy training, Jennifer! Love heels, Hope. Great veil. Regina, you will be great at the Wine and Dine! How fun!

See y'all! - Connie

Good Morning, Team! :wave2:

Scattered Thunder Storms - High 78°; Humidity High 89 %

Connie-it is so great to hear from you!
I am praying for you and Jon.
Don't Ya know when he is better you will be better!'
:cutie: cowboy boots-did you get the green ones?
300 calories an hour - awesome!
My Garmin showed only 241 calories for a 40-minute walk!

Dave- pixiedust: Ouch…PF I had/have that.
I think you have to take forever precautions!
You are not supposed to let your toes touch the floor-have your shoes by the bed.
Stretching before I got out of bed helped me.
I immediately changed all my shoes, never barefoot,
purchased the sock to wear to bed.
And of course the ice and massage.

Jennifer- WTG a Free Workout Program that is so great.
Our Trainers at the gym charge!
WTG-Nice Run!

Hope- I checked out your veil-it is beautiful. :bride:
What length did you choose?
High Heels - is the problem with your arch?
I used to wear heels all the time-now I wear 2 1/2” on occasion,
but I am most happy with the Negative Heel Earth Shoes.

Mike- hear you guys are having a fantastic time! :goodvibes

Regina- I am truly thrilled to have a very nice Walking Buddy!
Pluses are we are paced about the same, she is about 10-minutes from me, she understands training, and she is a WISHer! We plan to walk Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday morning...Early!

Vicky-:thanks: again you took some great pictures! :goodvibes

AFM: My little Hagen has a stomach bug-
still has a temperature this morning. :sad1:

I finally feel like my training might get back on track. :upsidedow
Depending on DD health maybe I can get a couple of half marathons in this fall.

Temp was 68° and humidity was 89%, but the air was not as
heavy as it was Saturday. 40-minute walk; ½ mile cool down;
and then jogged the length of the parking lot. (a little speed work)
I am doing a CrossFit class with Nikki tonight.

Scott & Lynn,

Hope you are enjoying your cruise! :goodvibes
We Sure do miss hearing from you!!!!

Hi team! Sorry to be MIA - just catching up on work and other things. I posted some pics from my trip on my Facebook account. Got a few from Boston, Carlo's Bakery in NJ (Cake Boss) and Washington, DC. There are some panda pics in there too for Dave! :)

Sue - One set of the fences runs along Wellington, right in front of my office. I think we're being forced to take a few days off next week. I don't think the company wants to pay to have security checks done for an entire building. No running in DC :( I wanted to give my ankle a rest. There are a ton of runners in that city - the sidewalks are nice and wide but there are some sections where the pavement is damaged and "wavy". Not sure how the runners there manage without some ankle or other injuries.

Margie - Great to hear that you have a new walking partner! and pixiedust: for Hagen! Poor guy :(

Connie - I had no idea horse and mule riding was such a calorie burner. I'll have to give it a try sometime - except I don't know anyone who has a horse. Hopefully Jon is feeling better soon!

Hope - I had a lot of trouble with heels and still do. Doing lots of core exercises helped me to walk a little more "normally" in heels. Doesn't quite help with the foot pain when I have to stand in them for long periods of time. I had an insert for the ball of the foot that really helps. Platform heels (think Louboutins, Aldo's has some) are great for getting in the height without actually standing on the full height of the heel. The platform usually gives you a "boost" of 2" and then it's like you're standing on 2" heel.

Dave - Hope your feet feel better soon! Say hi to Sally :)

Jennifer - I'm a little late but congrats on winning the local competition. I didn't know you were into pageants. What kind of exercises does your trainer have you doing for your core/

Gerry - Congrats on EE! That's a great pic! That's a race that's been on my to-do list for a while. Were the clues/puzzles tricky?

Regina - October will be here before you know it! I can hardly believe that it's almost the end of June. Is DH doing the 1/2 as well?

Mike - Hope you're having a fantastic time at WDW!

Kim - Are you back on PX90? How goes the fast with pop?

AFM - I'm slowly getting back into morning runs. Went out for a 6K this morning and it was gorgeous weather weather. Nice and cool but sunny! Lots of other runners out as well. I'm a week behind on my 30K training but that race isn't until the end of August so I'm okay with it. I'd rather go easy on my ankle.

Did some training at the gym last night and my PT noticed that I had leaned out some more! He thinks it might have been all the eating I did last week  I forget the term but basically when you've been on a low fat or low sugar etc. diet for a while and you suddenly start eating a lot more calories, your body does temporarily try to increase its metabolism to try and get rid of stuff. He said I shouldn't let it get to my head though

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

Hello Team!

Connie, Great to hear from you. Here's pixie dust for continuing recovery.

AFM, Had to leave work early for an appointment so I was able to make spin last night. Will be doing 5 tonight hopefully before the rain.

Just got logged in now work needs to be done. Got to run.
Have a great evening.......Sue
