Hakuna Matada - Getting fit and fabulous for August

My weight was a solid 182 this morning. I've been eating much healthier and training much harder for the last month. I'm surprised that I haven't lost more weight but I will call it a combination of losing fat and building more muscle. My speed and endurance are improving so I'll not complain. Still want to get to 160 sometime this year though. Grrrrrrrrr!!

I'm wondering how much you can trust all these people that are buying to give a fair price? I saw on Good Morning America that a 14C ear ring back is worth about 50 bucks.

I'm ready to race this Saturday, the forcast is for rain so should be interesting.

Everyone have a magical Thursday.

Dave:hippie:

Good Morning Team!

Kim - We are preparing for the MS Ride next weekend, 80 miles the first day and 50 the second - they feed you the whole time also!

Dave - Good luck on your race this weekend!

Mike - Maybe we will run into you at DL, we will be doing the 5K only, I will be wearing a WISH shirt - don’t know if Scott will or not. We will be staying at Grand Californian Villas.

Tandy - Bike riding is a great recovery exercise! Good job on the training!

AFM - We did end up going for bike ride yesterday, did laps around the block because weather looked so iffy. Put in a bit over 8 miles, but ride cut short when I had a flat tire. Today we may go for short ride, Scott should be on a rest day, he has his Senior Olympics 20K road race tomorrow, and a 5K time trial on Saturday. We then have a long bike ride - Ride for Sight - on Sunday (it can be any length up to 100 miles - turn around when you feel like it - I will probably go for 40ish - don’t know what Scott will go for).

Pixie dust to all who are in need!

Have a great day team!

Hi, team!

It's been too long since I checked in with everyone to see what's going on. I'll try to catch up on the posts but I just wanted to drop in and say hello.

I have a race on my schedule tomorrow but I don't think that I'll be able to run. My knee is still bothering me so I'm headed back to the ortho again today.

Enjoy the weekend, everyone!

Happy Friday morning team!!!!

Elizabeth: I hope you get the knee figured out and healed. Is it possible to walk your race, or does that hurt too much?

Lynn: We have an MS ride also, which is a total of 150 for the 2 days. I've always wanted to do it, but never gotten the nerve to sign up. My bike is not a long distance bike. It's a cruiser covered in baskets. It's great for little rides (30 or under) and it's great to go to the grocery store, but I don't think I could handle 150 miles on it. I kind of look like the mean old lady/witch from the Wizard of Oz on it.

Dave: Good luck this weekend. I'm sure you'll kill it! :thumbsup2

AFM: It's official. I'm back in the 120s!!!!! 129.8 to be exact.
So, that's a loss of 2.6, I think.
Points are:
1 point for water
1 point for veg/fruit
1 point for vitamin
1 point for exercise
1 point for new dish: made my own feta/spinach pizza with my own crust for the first time
1 point for temptation: no sugar (my god that was hard!)
0 points for exercise:sorry Vicky, only got it in twice
2.6 points for weight loss

So, that's 8.6 total points, I think!!!!!!

I didn't run yesterday. Needed a break. My knee is killing me and this is a weird, new pain. But, it's better today, so I'm off for 6 miles. First I've got to get the dog out for a walk. He doesn't like the heat, so I've got to do that as early as I can and I slept in today. Whoops. It's my son's last 3 days before school starts. So, he's requested nothing but Xbox Live time, of course. I am going to let him, I guess, as long as he runs everyday also. :thumbsup2

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

:cheer2: Weekend Racers :cheer2:

Good luck to all the racers this weekend!! Here's hoping for cool weather and lots of PBs!

August
13 - Dave
14 - Chicago Rock and Roll Half, Chicago, IL - Mike
14 - Acura 10 Miler, Toronto, ON - Vicky

Happy Friday team!

Tandy - That's a huge loss! WTG!!! Must have been all the running you got in this week plus the zoo walk! What grade is Harrison starting? I remember playing hours and hours of video games one weekend before I went back to university  Hope your knee is feeling better! Make sure to ice it! Btw, your pizza sounds yummy!! Was the dough hard to make?

Mike - Wish I was going to DL! WTG on your speedy run! Good luck on your race this weekend!

Elizabeth - pixiedust: for your knee! Sorry to hear you won't be racing this weekend but better to have your knee completely healed before you get out there. Keep us posted!

Scott - GL on Saturday!!

Lynn - WTG with all the miles! Have fun with your ride on Sunday!

Dave - Are you losing inches? Maybe you're packing on the muscle while losing the weight! :) Good luck Saturday! Can't wait to hear about your race!

Kim - I say a loss is a loss! So good job :) Do you want me to use the 0.2 lbs or did you weigh in today?

AFM - I'm down 1.5 lbs this week! Woo-hoo! I guess I average out to 2 lbs over two weeks which I'm happy with. I'm having a dress made for the wedding at the end of the month so as long as I don't gain weight, I'm ok

I met Sue for lunch yesterday which was fun! We went to Chipotle's and I managed to avoid ordering a burrito and chips and guac (which I love). It was fun catching up but as usual lunch was too short. My new foods this week was a swordfish steak - funny thing is the only reason I tried it is because it was mispriced! Gotta love the discounts :) I seasoned it with a bit of oil, salt, pepper, rosemary and fresh garlic and lemon juice. Tossed it onto a hot, hot pan and let it cook on each side for about 4 minutes. I deglazed the pan with a bit of white wine, threw in some chopped tomatoes, more garlic and green onions to cook for a bit and used that to top off the steak. I also tried strawberry peaches - they taste like regular peaches and look like regular peaches. Otherwise the eating has been going pretty well. I've been getting my veggies, vitamin and water everyday and staying away from most sugars.

I think for the challenge this week, I'll keep my temptation the same - no eating after 8PM and 7-7.5 hours of sleep. My points this week are:

30 minutes of exercises daily - 1
Water - 1
5 servings of fruits and veggies daily - 1
New food/dish each week - 1
Daily vitamin - 1
Weight lost - 1.5
Weekly temptation - 1
Exercise of the week - 1
Total: 8.5

I've got my 10 mile race on Sunday. The forecast is calling for rain so it should be interesting. I'm hoping it will at least be cool. The race is down by the water front and goes through a park. Part of the course is the same as the 30K course for next Sunday. I'm not sure I'm going to try for a PB because I rather run a fast race next week.

What's everyone else up to for the weekend? :wave2:

So let's keep the points structure the same, except that we'll award half points as long as you're able to complete at least half. So if you only do 3 days of the bonus exercise, you can give yourself a half point :thumbsup2

I'm feeling like a bit of cardio this week! I thought about making burpees the bonus exercise ... but I'm terrible at explaining things. So how about jumping jacks!! :yay: Let's go for 3 minutes - I'll let you decide how to break them up. If you haven't done them in a while, try going for 6 sets of 30 seconds. Rest for 2 minutes in between. If you're feeling up to it, try 3 sets of 1 minute. And I'm betting someone here is probably fit enough to do 3 minutes straight!

30 minutes of exercises daily - 1 point
Drinking 8 glasses of water a day (8oz each) - 1 point
5 servings of fruits and veggies daily - 1 point
Trying a new food/dish each week - 1 point (ideally this should be a healthy food) :)
Taking a daily vitamin - 1 point
Each pound of weight lost - 1 point (ie. 5lbs=5 points)

Bonus points
Person who has the biggest percentage of weight loss - 1 point
Successfully avoiding the week's temptation - 1 point (up to each inidivudal)
Completing my exercise of the week - 1 point

Whoo, I just did 6 miles and 100 jumping jacks. I'm tired!
Actually, Harrison did the jumping jacks with me and he didn't want to stop, so we just did the 3 minutes all at once. Works for me. :thumbsup2

I have a question for the experts. I just ran 6 miles in a downpour. My brand new shoes are drenched. Like, completely soaked. How do I dry them out to ensure that they are still good for all the miles I'd like to put on them?

Vicky: Great job on the weight loss this week! :thumbsup2 The crust was easy. It's just:

3 cups flour
2 teaspoons salt
1 packet active dry yeast

Mix that all together.
Then, add 2 tablespoons olive oil and one cup lukewarm water.

Kneed it, divide it into 2 balls.
Put them in bowls in the fridge, covered, overnight.
Pull them out of the fridge the next day, pound them down and wait til they come to room temp (only about 10 minutes).
Then, roll them out, and top them and put them in the oven at 500 for about 12 minutes or so.

See, easy. :)

Good luck to Vicky, Mike and Dave this weekend!:cheer2:

I picked up my race packet un Chicago today. Had a nice walk from Union Station, to the lakefront, past Buckingham fountain, the Field museum, Solier field, and into Mccormick place. Got to hang out with John Bingham again, and they had a nice expo. I was hungry at arrival, and left full from all the samples!

Great race this morning, my goal was to finish at least 5th and I was 4th so achieved that goal. The best part was that Sally was there to support me. Nice little trophy and a huge time.

Off to work now.

Have an awesome Saturday y'all.

Dave:hippie:

More about our race this morning. The guy who won the gold medal in the Tenn state games in his age group, which is also mine and 2 other walkers in team panda, has been talking trash all month about going to Kentucky and showing us how it's done. He didn't medal in his our age group today, since team panda swept all three places. Yep, quite a satisfying day.

Dave:hippie:

Hello team!

WTG Tandy and Regina!

Lynn - Wow, a 50 mile bike ride, that's awesome!

Dave - WTG on your race!

Vicky - My food of the week was swordfish, too. DH made it on the grill. I didn't like it much but DH did. Hope your race went well!

Elizabeth - Pixie dust for your knee!

Mike - Hope your race went well! We'll be at DL Friday - Monday, we're running the 5k and half.

Saylan - If you want, you could ship your shoes to me and we could meet up at DL. I'm driving down to DL so no problem for me to throw another pair of shoes in the car.

AFM - I'm down 1.5 punds this week :cool1: Glad I weighed in on Friday, because we had friends over for dinner last night.

I signed up for a sewing class this weekend. It starts in September. I've only sewed a few things before, so I'm hoping to learn some new stuff. The rest of the weekend has been devoted to cleaning. I still have to do laundry today :(

Yesterday, we did our longest training run of 10 miles. It went alright, I was definitely sore later in the day.

So, my points for last week are:
1.5 points for weight loss
1 point for exercise
1 point for new food (swordfish)
0 points for water
0 points for veg/fruit (I didn't eat anything healthy at the fair)
0 points for temptation (didn't have one this week)
0 points for vitamin
0 points for exercise of the week
Total = 3.5 points

My temptation for the next week will be to not drink pop.

So, for the DL races would anyone want to meet up prior to race start for a quick hello? I think in the past people have met near the "W" bag check tent. Since not everyone has a Wish shirt this might make it easier to pick others out. I'm not sure if 5k bag check is the same as the half. Does anyone know if there will be a "W" tent to meet by for the 5k?

Have a good day!
Emily

Good Afternoon Team! Sorry I have been missing in action for the last few days.

Dave - Congrats on your race!!! Yea for the Panda Team!!

Mike - Sounds like a fun time in Chicago!

Tandy - Some folks at the night ride we had recently dressed up as Wizard of Oz characters, one was the witch on the bike with a basket (full of lights), the kid was dressed up as Toto! So have fun in the shorter rides on the bike!

Emily - Good luck with the pop! There are usually tents in the family meet area with the alphabet on them, in the past, we have met at the W tent (as opposed to the bag drop area)

Elizabeth - Hope you were able to at least walk your race!

AFM - OK, let me catch up - Went with Scott to the Senior Olympics on Friday and Sat, volunteered to help, and I was put to work! Scott did the 20K road race on Friday and came in 4th in his age group. and in the 5K time trial on Sat, he came in 3rd and won a bronze medal! We got out for a short 5 mile ride on Sat - the wind was brutal! Today, we rode 50 miles - wind brutal on way out, but great tail wind on the way back - we were doing 28 mph going up hill without pedaling! As part of that ride, we had a spaghetti dinner last night, bagels, bananas and juice this morning, and pulled pork sandwiches, pizza, potato salad, cold slaw and jello salad for lunch after the race.

OK, on to points -
lost 1 pound - 1 pt
exercise - 1 pt
water - 1 pt
fruits and veggies - 1/2 pt
try new food - 1 pt
vitamin - 1 pt
avoiding temptation - better make it 1/2 pt - I did Pilates tapes twice this week - usually try for 3 times a week.
exercise of the week - 0 (cannot do squats with my knees, except with a ball at my back against the wall)
TOTAL - 6 pts

Pixie dust to all who are in need!

Have a great day team!

Hi Team!

Mike- I’m sorry to hear about everything going on over there. I hope things start to calm down for you and Liz. I hope Robert’s first day of school goes well! I’m glad you guys are getting excited for CA!! I hope your race went well.

Lynn- Did you guys decorate your bikes for the Moonlight Cowboy Ride? If so how did you decorate them? That’s awesome you guys got a 50 mile bike ride in this last week! Congrats to Scott on his races!!

Kim- Happy Anniversary to you and Mike tomorrow!!!!! Hang in there with the weight loss. I’m sure it will come for you!

Tandy- That’s a good idea- to have an escape plan. I might have to give that a try. I may have missed it, but why do you have to quit running? A picnic lunch sounds nice! How did it go with the other WISHers? There is a game park about 30 min-1 hour from where we are and you get to pet baby tigers and leopards. A coworker took her daughter there on Saturday. Great job on the weight loss!

Emily- Thanks! I don’t think we will be able to do an ABD trip now in 2013 like I was originally hoping we would be able to since I’m not sure how much longer I will be at my current job (it’s just not working out). But it is something I would like to do when we are financially able to someday. I love fairs! I’m glad you guys had fun at the county fair. We always eat some not so healthy food when we go too. I’ve never heard of deep fried oreos. Will you post a pick of your shirts when you get the transfers ironed on? Congrats on the weight loss!

Dave- Great job on your race yesterday!!! Even better Sally was there to support you! It sounds like you guys did great at the race.

Elizabeth- Hi! I hope your ortho is able to help you.

Vicky- Congrats on your weight loss this week! You’re doing awesome on the food and water stuff too! I hope your race went well today!

AFM, here are my points:

Weight loss- 0 (no change)
Water- 1 point
Fruits/Veggies- 0
New food/dish- 1 point
Exercise- 0
Daily Vitamin- 0
Temptation- 1 point
Exercise of the week- 0
Total: 3 points
I did much better with water this past week and by the end of the week I was able to get in my daily water by about 4:30pm or so. I pretty much just had to chug it down to get it done. I also successfully avoided soda all week! I wanted it a few times but told myself no.

Hope everyone’s day goes well tomorrow.

Hi Team!

Lynn and Scott~ Great job racing and volunteering! Also, just wanted to let you know that I usually access FB on my smart phone. For some reason, a lot of my friends no longer pop up on the phone, but only online through our lap top. You and Scott seem to have been knocked off somehow. (So, I miss most of your posts) :headache:

Dave~ Way to go, with Team Panda, showing up the loudmouth! I love it when that happens!

Vicky~ Nice medal and great race! You did really well!

Kim and Mike~ Happy Anniversary! And many, many more!

Emily~ I'll PM you my cell phone, We would hate to travel all that way and miss our team mates! Look forward to meeting you in CA!

Mary~ Ditto! Look forward to seeing you and Ken again!

AFM~ Great weekend for us! I PR'ed in my race and Liz did great in her first Olympic distance triathlon! She wanted to be quicker than 4 hours and came in at 3:23. She rode the bike portion at 3:16 a mile (25 miles)! Next weekend we do it all again- I've got a half in Madison WI on Saturday, and Liz has a Sprint distance tri on Sunday!
Robert had a Teddy Bear picnic at his new school on Saturday and we got to meet his prinicpal and teacher, and got to drop off his school supplies and see his classroom. He starts school today. I'm happy and a little sad that he has to join the "real world".

- Mike :cool2:

Hey team. Sorry what was suppose to be a quiet weekend it was nuts.

Vicky: Ya just use the .2 I totally forgot to "officially" weight in on Friday. Congrats on the race yesterday!!!

Sorry I did read everything but with my new workout plan this morning I am running a but late.

Have a super day all and will check in later.

Kim

Hi Team!

Here is my race report:
I took the train into Chicago on Friday to pick up my race packet and walked the hour from Union Station to McCormick place. The weather was beautiful and I passed Buckingham fountain, the lakefront, the Field Museum, Soldier Field (the Chicago Bears stadium) and saw several of the Tall Ships sailing in for this years festival at Navy Pier. I also saw several Segway groups on tours of the lakefront, which totally brought me back to our Honeymoon at WDW and riding through EPCOT.
The packet pick up and expo were set up really well. I arrived hungry and left stuffed from all the samples being served. Brooks shoes had a fun area with boardwalk type games where you could win things. If you got a ping pong ball into a shoe, you won a pair. The race swag was all by brooks, and really pricey. I stuck to and extra shirt and a pin.
I found John Bingham and hung out with him for awhile and then listened to his talk on stage. All in all a great time!

Saturday, we picked up Liz's girlfriend and headed to their packet pick up for their triathlon on Sunday. Then we had a nice spagetti dinner at our place with Nancy and her husband. Carbo loading!

Sunday came with getting up at 2:45 and having a light breakfast. I was out the door at about 3:30 and Nancy came to pick Liz up for their race.

The weather was perfect for racing! It was cool and overcast, with a nice cool breeze. My race was on the streets of downtown Chicago, which was a first for me. All of my races in the city have been along the lakefront pathes. I walked around a bit to watch the set up and find my corral. They had speakers everywhere playing music and making annoucements. Fitting for a rock and roll race! Most of the sponser boothes where set up around Buckingham Fountain and it was really well done. Port o Pots where everywhere!

They had us enter our corrals at 6:00 and the race started at 6:30 after some comments from Al Roker, John Bingham, and some girl from Entertainment tonight (forget her name). Roker was runing the race.
I was in corral 12 of 29 and started about 3 minutes after the first group. The first two miles went quick and I kept running fartleks to get around people. The first mile went in about 8:45 and I just kept going. All season long, I knew that I wanted to try for a PR during this race. I saw a woman with a shirt that read Do it or Die and at about mile three a woman was holding a sign that read "Someday you will not be able to do this, Today is not this day!" That is when I really decided to go for the PR.
Running through the streets was fun. I saw the Sears Tower (now Willis Tower) with its top shrouded in clouds, passed under the L (elevated train), and several other land marks. Crowd support was great. Lots of people cheering and holding up signs, and a band about every mile.
The entire race, I was on the verge of my PR pace and was trying to push it. There was no opportunity to relax much. When we hit Michigan Ave I was fading and starting to hurt. My right shoulder tenses up and then just burns. Between mile eight and eleven I fought hard to walk only a little and keep putting one foot in front of the other. At eleven, I had to renew my motivation and decide to move it, as I was still right about my old PR and a actually a few seconds behind. I had to walk a bit at about 11.5 and then started to book it. I ran the last mile in about 8:15, grunting vocally the entire way. I started to have some chest pains. "Do it or Die" came to mind. I could see the finish line for about the last half mile and really wanted to get it done.
I finished in 2:07:29 with a pace of 9:44. A new PR!! My old PR came from my first half marathon at the Wine and Dine in WDW last October (2:07:56). I also met my goal, set with this team, of completing my tenth half marathon of this year! Thanks to all of you for your support, and patience between my long awols between posts!
Next up the Madison WI half next weekend and then onto the DL half!

- Mike :cool2:

Happy Monday everyone!

Tandy - I knew you would be one of the people who were going to do the 3 minutes straight! WTG!! The dough sounds easy enough! I'll give it a try closer to the end of the month (it's more about the time than the calories). Your shoes are probbably dry by now but when I go running in the rain, I've found the quickest way to dry out your shoes is to stuff them full of newspaper balls. And let them sit in front of a fan. Make sure you change the newspaper every so often and your shoes will be dry in no time!

Dave - Congrats on your race! And WTG Team Panda!! You're going to have a nice collection of trophies and medals soon! Did you and Sally celebrate after the race?

Emily - That's awesome that we tried the same food last week! My favourite fish is trout but I haven't seen it in the supermarket I go to lately. I think Mike, Lynn and Scott were talking about a DL meetup but I don't know the details.

Scott - Congrats!!

Lynn - Pulled pork sandwiches after a ride sounds awesome! Was that provided by the race organizers? You guys are getting some tasty grub after these rides. Maybe I should get a bike as well! How are you feeling after getting in the 50 miles? Sorry I forgot about your knees - if there's an exercise you can't do, let me know and I'll suggest an alternative.

Regina - Sorry to hear about the job :( But I think that means there's something better waiting around the corner! How long are you in Oregon for? Deep fried Oreos are yummy! You can make them really easily - heat up a pot of oil, make up a batch of Bisquick batter, dunk the Oreos in and pop them into the oil. They don't keep well so it's best to eat them when they're warm.

Mike - Congrats on your PR! And to Liz as well on an awesome time! Awesome RR! Are there any hills or inclines on that course? And I have to say that 2AM is waaay early for a race! It's almost earlier than Disney! Is Robert in full day kindergarten? A lot of the schools here haven't converted and are still half day. The teddy bear picnic sounds like a great way to start off the year :)

Kim - Missed you yesterday! Just after the 2 hour mark, the announcer said there were still about 70-80 racers still out on course but I noticed that the volunteers were already packing up the food station so I'm not sure if they got anything to eat afterward. Many thanks for the bib! I'll give you the shirt and the "goodie" bag Saturday. The bag had a million flyers in it, one juice box and one sample sized Clif bar.

AFM - I had a great weekend! I met up with a friend for dinner on Friday - she had just returned from a trip to Spain. Lots of fun catching up. Then on Saturday, I met another friend for lunch and went shopping by myself afterward. I bought a really cute dress which I almost think I could use for the wedding if the other dress doesn't end up arriving on time. But it better get here

And then Sunday was the race! I ended up oversleeping because my alarm didn't go off :headache: Next time I'll set a few of them just to be safe. I was suppose to leave at 7:15AM but didn't get out of the house until 7:25AM so it wasn't terrible. Made it down to the start by 8AM and stood in line f-o-r-e-v-e-r for the porta-potties. It felt like the line for bathroom was longer than the drive downtown!

I started in the last coral because I decided I was going to take this race easy and treat it as a training run. The course was 10 miles and was a loop through the streets and a waterfront park. The race was a lot more crowded than it was last year - I heard a lot of the local running groups were running it instead of their Sunday morning training runs. As with all races, I always wish that people wouldn't run 3-4 people wide. Or they wouldn't turn up the music so loud that they can't hear when someone says "On your left". That would be my only complaint about this race.

The sun came out for a bit - I felt like it was there for the first half of the race. It made things HOT! I ran through a misting tent and stopped quite often for water. By the half way mark, the sun had gone behind the clouds and it had cooled a bit again. I decided to pick up the pace a bit and just finish. Around the 15K mark, there was a woman who was wearing a bib and was walking in the direction of the finish. She was holding her daughter's hand and some guy I was running beside yelled out "Come on! It's only another kilometer! You're really close" She yelled back "No, I'm already done. But YOU'RE really close!" I thought that was cute!

I decided I'd really pick up the pace for the last kilometer (I think it's something like 0.6 miles). There was no one in the finishing chute so I thought it would be fun to sprint ... apparently someone else had the same idea so it was fun having a "race" to the finish. I gave her a high five at the end :) My time was 1:40:59 - not a PB but I'm happy with it. I managed to get in a lot of sub 10 m/m intervals. For next Saturday, I'll have to get in a lot of sub 9:30 m/m to get a 3 hour finish. I'm not sure is entirely possible but I'll hope for the best!

I will add up the scores for the challenge when I get home tonight.

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

I had my speed workout today. Met another team panda member and we did 400m walk sprints with a 400m recovery lap between. The intervals averaged 2:16 each. That's a walking pace of 9:04 mpm. The goal is to slowly work up to doing one mile repeats at that pace.

Happy monday y'all.

Dave:hippie:

I haven't been posting in a while so I apologize for that. I guess I missed the beginning of the weight loss challenge (so many of your are doing an amazing job so far!!!) but I did want to share my little WooHoo moment from last Saturday.

I weighed in at Weight Watchers on Saturday morning and posted a 2.8lb loss. Which was exciting but that was not the really awesome part. WIth that weigh-in, I reached a personal milestone of having lost a total of 102.2lbs since I started Weight Watchers in May 2010! It was pretty cool and everyone at the meeting was very encouraging! I even got a paper certificate from the leader for making to 100lbs down. I think I will call this my "Weight PR"!

I know this is just one step along a much longer journey (I still have 58 more pounds to lose), but it is imortant for all of us to celebrate each milestone we set for ourselves -- be it 2 pounds, 5 pounds, 25 pounds, 100 pounds. It is good to recognize each step along the way.

So congratulations to everyone here who is on the path to a leaner, meaner you! We are making it happen!

This week I am tapering and getting ready for my 10K coming up on Sunday. This will be my first 10K and my first official trail run. I am praying for cool weather but I might have to settle for low 80s. It should be fun! I am shooting for a time under 1:15 hours. We'll see!
