Hakuna Kidani, What a Turtleful Phrase!

We spent a little browsing time in Once Upon a Toy.

Bella found a friend. I have no idea what they were discussing. Jill may remember.

Then it was time for a Disney friends meet.

The original plan was that we were going to meet, eat, and go play mini golf, but for the first night of the trip, it rained, storms were around the area, and it unfortunately rained out the golfing part.

The attendees were Margaret and family, Stacy and family, Rachel and Howard (they are such cute newlyweds), Anita and Marc, Kimmy and kids, and all of our gang. I think that was it, but someone correct me if I left someone out.

Kimmy had brought cupcakes for the kiddos.

They were a big hit, of course.

We moved a bunch of tables together over in a corner of the outside at Earl's.

The kids got along fabulously and enjoyed splashing around in the light rain and small puddles.

We ate yummy Earl sandwiches, enjoyed chatting and watching the kids, and then got some pictures of all the Distown kids.

What a great looking group!!! :cool1:

I joined Earl's email club and got a coupon for a free brownie.

So sorry the rain ruined your golfing plans. But a great plan B.

Will you be trying for mini golf again in Dec?

I would be taking LOTS of pics of the animals also.

Love the Downtown Disney pics.

What a great Dismeet! Love the pic of all the kiddos!

So glad that a few of you enjoyed the coconut bars. It is great that such a small token can bring happiness to someone :).

I hope you have a great weekend. Enjoy your family time tomorrow.

We are all busy but come here for the company, companionship, and to hang with other people who get it.
It truly is DIStown where we gather to share news, both good and bad. We gather to celebrate and mourn, to teach and learn.

We welcome others as they join us and miss those who have gotten too busy to stop in.Thank You, Thank You, Thank You MeMom and Jill for creating such a warm and inviting place to hang out.:goodvibes

What she said! :goodvibes

I love taking pics of the animals at AKL too. I have TONS of them!

What a fun gang to meet up with at DTD!

We went to see Frozen on Wednesday night too. Loved it! It didn't hurt that the theater just put in these recliner seats - Oh my - are they comfortable! We went to a later show - 8:40 start, and I just didn't want to get up and go back out in the cold to go home! But I did, and went to disneyshopping online to buy some Christmas presents!

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Yes - wouldn't it be great to be having Thanksgiving dinner with the mouse? We did it once and it was a fun (but crowded) time to visit.

Love your DIS meet at EOS. As Pat said, what a great backup plan for the rained out golf outing.

I think Rachel is adorable and I love following her TR.

Fun update.

Well I am back. I hope you never stop posting your trip reports. I only have time to follow a couple of threads and yours is one of them. I think this is the first time I have really been on the Dis since Sept. We had a magical 2 weeks in Disney in late Sept - early Oct. I have read some Donna Parker books (that tells you how far behind I was) I found them in a bookshelf at my grandmothers when I was younger. They had belonged to my mother. :goodvibes

Hi, Memom and family!!! I'm still here!!! I'm sort of caught up...
Anyway, please don't stop writing your reports!! I still like reading them and hearing about what's going on.
Keep me posted on any meets for the trip!! I think our dates are the same as yours!! Dec.28-Jan.4!!! 27 more days!!:dance3::cool1::yay:
I'm glad things worked out and you are still going!!! Let me know if there is a photo pass share! I would be interested in joining!!!
Hope everyone in DIStown and a safe and happy Thanksgiiving holiday!!!

Hope you had a great thanksgiving!!

Oh I love a Dismeet!! Looks like it was a great one -- what fun pictures of the kids together!

Oh & I almost forgot to say; today we can say this month, we're going to Disney!! Woo hoo!!

Looked like you had fun in Downtown Disney

Frozen was beyond amazing! My third favorite Disney move although it sort of reminded me of Rapunzel. I recommend seeing it!

I'm not sure on the golf thing. Maybe if the parks are so busy that we leave earlier than expected at some time, that might be a thought. :)

We need to check into the Earl Club. ::yes::

It was fun to see all the kids together. I know we would have had a blast golfing with them.

I try to bring back little treats, too. Mickey gummies are so much more fun than normal old bear gummies.

We did enjoy our family time. Everyone was here for lunch, and then some of us went to see Frozen.

I saw your recliner movie theater. Very cool! I would have liked that seating yesterday. I am horrible at sitting still for very long, so that's one reason I don't care for movie theaters. I was wiggling and trying to stretch my legs a lot in the second half of Frozen yesterday. Of course, if I had had your seating, I would probably have covered up with a blanket and fallen asleep. ;)

We did it the year we got a whole week out of school. That was an unusual thing, as we normally just get W-F. I don't recall it being super crowded that year, but it's been about five years, so I may have just forgotten.

Rachel said she was nervous about meeting everyone, but I am so glad they came anyway. Disney World is really the only place in life I feel good about meeting and talking to 'strangers'. I think they felt okay with it after they got there. They had family with them, so they did not stay the whole time, but it was so nice to meet them in person.

Are you doing a report on your trip?

I just asked Jill yesterday about your December dates! She said she couldn't keep up with who was going when, but she thought we knew people who were going to be there from now all the way through January. We know like five families from different avenues there now or who have just returned. If we were there, we'd arrange a big meet for all of them to say hello to each other.

We are eating at Park Fare on the 28th, so we're planning a meet a few minutes before we check in. If you are free at 5:45 on the 28th, come and see some little girls dressed up like Cinderella and her 'steps'! :cool1:

Hope you had a great thanksgiving!!

Three weeks of school left - lots of testing, grade gathering, and fun activities..... Then we are out again! :dance3:

Frozen had a lot of funny lines. I thought the writing was really cute. :thumbsup2

That looked like a pretty wild meet!

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. I didn't get in much over the last few days to tell you that before.

Awww those poor melted cupcakes. :-/ Oh well, they were a mess, but the kids didn't seem to mind. Haha. It was so fun getting together with everyone. The pics in Pin Traders crack me up. Hopefully next time we can mini-golf

Good to hear from you. You guys are busy with all of Declan's fun stuff, and that is understandable. It seems that we are all just busier with life things than we once were. I enjoyed having the Thanksgiving break to catch up a little with DIS and Disney friends. I also had time to do some chores around the house, do some schoolwork, and spend time with my family. It was very nice.

We are planning another meet for December 28th at 5:45 at Grand Floridian, if you are interested in coming over. We have a 6:30 ADR at Park Fare, so we'll just meet out in the lobby. We could get a picture of all the kids in front of the tree or gingerbread house or something.

I don't know if we will mini-golf this time or not. I think we need to get there and see how things are working with the crowds and the new Fastpass system and all. If the parks are too crazy, we'll be looking for other options, so we might golf. If not this time, then maybe we'll golf in July. ::yes::

Count me as another one trying to get caught up. Please do not stop writing reports. When I do have time to get on I know I can come back home by pulling up your report.

I have been guilty of being busy and having my nose stuck in a book. When I start reading a new series I just have to keep reading until I'm done. I'm also guilty of staying away since I don't have a trip planned. My youngest may be going in Feb to compete with cheer. They have been giving a bid. The question now is if they can raise the money. I've put my name in the hat for chaperone but it doesn't look good. Fingers crossed that things work out.

I'm looking forward to seeing your updates for the Christmas trip coming up. I have only been there once during the Christmas/New Years time and loved it.

Well, as long as you guys don't care if the updates are few and far between, since time to do them is that, then I am fine with continuing to share the pictures. I enjoy taking them and seeing them again. The format, however, will probably change somewhat - more 'here are the pictures' and less story and chatter. We just had a meeting today during our planning time that piled a whole new list of work we're going to have to do between now and January, and then it will be added to our list of things to do during the rest of the year. Seems like they are always adding things, but rarely taking away.

We'll keep our fingers crossed for you getting to go as a chaperone.

As it turned out, the storm that disrupted our golf plans never did really formulate. We had the rain, but not the predicted storms.

We did a little more wandering around Downtown Disney.

Brooklynn was interested in these.

Lego mugs one could have a souvenirs.

Woody and Buzz.

I don't know if this is the same one Mary's girls were pictured with yesterday.

I think I take a picture of these pretty much every time.

Why? I really do not know. :upsidedow

Then we went to the smell good place, Basin.

Watching a craftsman at work.

Looking above.

That's it for tonight. Probably two more updates will get us finished with this trip. If Jill wants to, she can start the new one before we go, and we can put live updates and pictures on it from WDW. She may not have the time, though, as she keeps a busy schedule.

We hope you are all having a nice December so far. We are having warm weather right now, but we're supposed to get cold along with ice and snow this weekend. What's it like at your house?

Right now very warm, mid to upper 60's but dreary and rainy. Used no firewood and no heat today. :cool1:

The line on the map is crazy- yellows and orange on one side and purple and blues on the other. :cold:

Amazing that I have been home now and still struggle to keep up. :lmao:

I need to wrap up my TR and/ or prep for the perhaps the next one...... maybe...
