Hakuna Kidani, What a Turtleful Phrase!

We are 60, but are to get three to six inches of snow by Friday. Also are going back into the deep freeze.

Pictures are always good & I understand being busy, I haven't kept up with my TR in awhile.

I love those soaps!

Sad that there will only be a few more updates. :(I really enjoy your trip reports!
Hope there will be a next one so I can read along!:thumbsup2

Everytime I go into the Lego store, I feel like a little kid. My brothers and I were obsessed with them when we were little, and I'm not going to lie, when I see them, I still think about buying them for myself. Even if I'm a grown up. :rotfl2:

I'm glad you're having warm weather. We had a snap of cold (in the teens) which is normal for the Midwest. It's strangely warm right now, but it's going to be cold again very soon. And snow is always inevitable.

The weather here? Horrible!! We got about 6" of snow since last night and now it's getting windy and the bottom is dropping out of the temps! The highs for the next week will be single digit. Yup, gotta love winter in Minnesota!

But DH and I had the day off today (I knew the weather would be bad and felt that headache coming on...;) ) So we went out in the snow and did some serious shopping!! What's a little snow?

We all survived, and only one activity got canceled tonight (church class for Sarah), so the girls still had ballet. Now we just have to dig out the long underwear and warm boots!!

Hope your weather is better than ours! I know down south that ice can cause real problems- especially with power outages etc. (our lines are underground thankfully).

My house will be just like your house;)

But, based on the news, Murfreesboro may get spared from the real icky stuff. Stay off the roads if you can.

I loved the Dismeet pictures. They are always so much fun.

And, I love the picture of Jill and Brooklyn inside Basin. Just looks like a sweet mommy/daughter moment. You capture the best moments.

Hope to see you soon. We are actually thinking this may be the first christmas season we don't make it to Opryland. If we do, it is looking like it may need to be a Friday night after work. Maybe, Friday the 13th

Rainy and in the 40's today, expecting some snow tonight. Big news in the homefront...Justin made the pit for our high school musical ( new experience...he decided last year he wanted to do pit instead of being in the cast)

We could spend hours in DTD. There is so much to look at. I'm glad you're going to keep writing.

A little good news, I paid Danielle's deposit Wednesday and mine on Thursday to travel with the cheerleaders to Disney in February to compete. I hope you don't mind me asking but if anyone as done this please give me some insight. I've been to Disney but never for a cheer competition. We are only planning on being there the required 3 nights and 2 days will be spent competing and then there is the travel time. But a little time in Disney is better than no time in Disney.

Right now very warm, mid to upper 60's but dreary and rainy. Used no firewood and no heat today.

The line on the map is crazy- yellows and orange on one side and purple and blues on the other.

Amazing that I have been home now and still struggle to keep up.

I need to wrap up my TR and/ or prep for the perhaps the next one...... maybe...

I love those months when the heating bills are low! :thumbsup2

What are you doing all day every day? Are you a soap opera watcher? I'd be watching a bunch of Hallmark movies at this time of year. :santa:

Not sure if this TR will be the one that follows us to Florida or if the new one will be up and running.

We'll be getting cold and ice, but not 3-6 inches of snow. We'd be out of school for days with that much!

Basin is a good place to get gifts for friends back at home who aren't so much into Disney things. ::yes::

The warm is now over. 'Wintery mix' is what they are calling things now. :cold:

I have stepped on enough Legos in my lifetime to make me hate them. Those little devils hurt a bare foot!

I will say it again and again and again - I don't know how you exist up there in the great white north.....or just barely south of it. I'm already wanting it to be late March just after a few cold days.

Serious shopping? Fun! What did you get?

Amazingly, they let us out of school two hours early. The kids, that is. Teachers had to stay one extra hour, but it was nice to be able to beat the craziness that will be out there tonight.

That's great that Justin is doing what he wants with the musical. I'd definitely rather be a behind-the scenes person.

I have no experience with that, but you could ask on DISboards on FB.

You are right - a little Disney is better than none! :earsgirl:

Hi there! MeMom I hope you don't mind me crashing your TR for a minute:

All, please PM me if you're going to be in at Disney World over New Years and are interested in joining us for dinner at OHana, followed by New Years Eve fireworks on the beach at the Polynesian. Right now we have 12 open spots in the reservations we made, and I wanted to double-check before we called and canceled the ones we don't need.

OK, thanks MeMom! :thumbsup2

Oh and I also meant to add - your picture of DTD near Basin, with the lights bouncing off the wet pavement is SO cool. Great picture!

Another great shopping update. I love those lego mugs. They are really very cool!

The Basin has such cool products. I love my Mickey soap bars. They are the best!

A lot of weather talk going on around here. We are about to go into the deep freeze too. Can't wait.

Love Basin, have never been to the one in dtd...looks like I am missing something...the one at GF is small...

Crash away!

My mouth gets happy at the mention of 'Ohana. :)

As I have had so many times, it is so often that the simple 'nothing special' pictures are the ones that really capture the atmosphere. ::yes::

Our high today is mid-30's. Distown people who are in Disney World right now are 'bragging' about their 80's and swimming and such. I hate them all!

Love Basin, have never been to the one in dtd...looks like I am missing something...the one at GF is small...

Oh, yeah, the one at GF is much smaller. Next time you are in DTD, check it out. :thumbsup2 I like to bring back the little soap bars for teacher friends. I wish they had mini-bars that were more like the $3.00 range so that I could buy for more people, because they are all so cute.

Here is another picture from a different visit that helps you see the size of it. This shows about a third of it. The middle section has the cash registers, and then there is another section on the other side of the registers.

And since I was at the pictures, some more of the cute soaps....

Are the holiday soaps there all the time or just at the "appropriate" season? So cute!!

Serious shopping? Fun! What did you get?

We got the girls each a specialty duffel bag for dance gear with a rack for competitions. Then we got my brother a dart board set, Paige a bow and arrow (I know, we're crazy). We went to Target in the evening armed with a 20% off coupon and a $10 off card and did some "regular" shopping too. My bank account is very sad right now! But most of my shopping for Christmas is done!

I am working on a gift for my DD's 5th grade teacher. I really don't want to get the same thing as others (plus it's a male teacher) Do you have any suggestions??

I love all the displays at the Lego Store! :goodvibes

Hoping you don't have any issues from all the winter weather this weekend!

Well today the temp has steadily dropped all day but we are only at 48 right now. Started a fire in the fireplace to help offset using the gas heat for a bit.

Yup I am home all day every day and sadly not getting as much done as I envisioned.
So far I have Physical therapy twice a week and I was still able to get out and referee a couple of high school swim meets.
I do try to tackle a small home project every day and with the kitchen project I am still dealing with odds and ends from that.

I have a room full of stuff that was in cabinets in the kitchen that is being sorted to either go in the garbage can or if good condition to Goodwill.

I do have a couple of soaps I still keep up with but I am also clearing the DVR. :lmao:
Thanksgiving week was a low key week, last week was kind of busy and next week is less busy so I hope to finish the front room and the Christmas tree. :goodvibes

Basin is cool but sometimes I can only spend a few minutes in there before my nose gets twitchy. :rotfl:

Hi MeMom and Jill :wave2: I'm about 70 pages behind :faint: School has been keeping me very busy this year. I had 7 papers and 8 exams this semester. Now I'm down to one paper and two exams. Almost done :cool1: My last day is the 17th. Then I can get caught up here :thumbsup2

I was skimming through a few pages and saw you mention a December/January trip. What are your dates? We never booked anything, but we were tentatively planning for Jan 5-11. Now we're in the middle of a family crisis that may prevent us from going. There's still a chance, but it's gonna be last minute. Last year we booked it 10 days in advance and didn't have any problems, so I'm not worried about that. If we can't go in January, we're looking at spring break.

I lost some Mickey bath bombs on our return flight home once. I was so upset about it. Called them to see if I could get them replaced, and they wouldn't let me buy them since I wasn't on property. I was not happy about it one little bit.

I think they might have a couple of holiday type options throughout the year, and then more as the holiday approaches.

Gift cards are always a hit with teachers. To be able to stop off for dinner one night after a crazy school day is nice, or to have an extra Target card in January, when all the December shopping bills come in and the heating bills are high. :thumbsup2

My bank account is getting slightly happier and happier, because I am staying out of stores! ::yes::

We keep getting threatened with snow and ice, but so far, nothing has been too upsetting around here.

Too bad you aren't closer. We are having a holiday shop for our students, and we're in the market for people's leftovers and discards.

Many, many, many years ago, I watched All My Children. I don't recall anything about it now. There was another one that was more of a hit at the time. It had Luke and Laura. Was it Days of Our Lives? I don't remember. I didn't watch it, but I saw commercials of it, and it was big in magazine aisles.

I bet it felt good to get out and work some swim meets, huh?

Hey there, DIS college girl! I am glad you are happy and busy at school. I saw a picture of you on FB - I guess it was your Thanksgiving get-together, maybe.

We will just miss you, if you arrive on the 5th. We are leaving on the 4th. If you can tough it out through the winter, spring break is FABULOUS!!!! :cool1:

Bummer! Did you figure out how you lost them?

I am still mourning my pool guy Mickey that I left in the window at Pop Century last March. I called the next day, and they could nnot locate him. Either the housekeeper got him and put him somewhere - if she cleaned/checked the window - or the people who were staying there got him. I was hoping Pop people would ask the new guests if they had found it and it would be returned. I have looked on ebay, and I have not seen another like him. Even if I find one, he won't be the one I had. :( I'll probably convince myself that someone put my guy on ebay and it is really him. I wish I had marked him. Then I would know if it was really him and he was having a long adventure somewhere before coming back home. :goodvibes
