So very sorry, guys. I am a pitiful excuse for a DIS friend right now. School is keeping me busy enough, but then add on the part-time job and getting ready for Sophie's party, and I have not had time to do much else. Instead of spending what little time I have tonight to do responses, I hope you'll be okay with something much better than my words - Disney pictures. I did read everyone's comments, and I even started responding (late last night/early this morning?) but my eyes closed on me.
Anyway, let's see more of Vero real quick.
Inside the main building.
An explanation, as if we need one.
Poolside.
Today, Brooklynn was going to do archery.
The girls sometimes pick up flowers and petals that have fallen. Many of them are in a vase in my room. I have a lot of Disney travels in that jar of dried flowers and leaves.
When the archery group had gathered, we walked back along the bridge breezeway and down the street a little way.
This was an example of an activity which could have been done in a better way. The cast member did a slipshod job of leading, explaining, and showing the kids how to hold the bow and arrow, and she acted like she really didn't much know what she was doing herself.
The adults could see that the kids were going to need more help, so several of them got up to show their kids how to do things and give a few more tips on how to hit the target.
Brooklynn was looking like such a big girl here.
A bunch of arrows went behind the target stand, and the girl kept having to go back there and get them. She freaked out at one point about a spider and decided she wasn't going to get any more. I guess maybe somebody went back in the woods later and retrieved some. I would have thought they would have some kind of barrier back there or have a cleared section to at least keep arrows up close to the target and/or easy to find, but they just went all over the place in the wooded area.
Brooklynn enjoyed her three minutes of bow and arrow time, but Jill and I thought maybe there was a better way to do this whole thing.
A Vero palm tree.
Looks like the girls picked up an after-archery snack.
Back at the cottage - lunch.
The sea turtles were a gift to the girls from Marc and Anita. I think I missed that they had done the turtle walk. Did I? I'm so not with it on some things with this report because of time. The turtle walk was so high on my list, but I didn't get to go because my leg was not cooperating. Marc, Anita, Jill, John, and Brooklynn went, and they did get to see a mother sea turtle lay her eggs. I was very happy Brooklynn had been able to see something so cool.
I miss this little face so much. I cannot wait to see her and her big and little sisters this weekend.
Okay, hope you enjoyed a few Disney Vero minutes. The rest of the week and weekend will be a blur, so I will check back when I can. I'm keeping up a little bit with everyone's kids going back to school, broken bones, Disney trips, sports victories, etc. on FB in little spurts, too. Distown is just very, very busy right now!
