Hakuna Kidani, What a Turtleful Phrase!

2am swim lesson? that would be interesting. :rotfl: @ Pat.

the morning sunrise is beautiful.

All these signage errors would be a fun spelling activity for students.

Happy Belated birthday Marc.

Just checking in. Hope school has settled into a comfortable routine for you now MeMom! :goodvibes And hoping Brooklyn is getting well again quickly!!! :thumbsup2

So very sorry, guys. I am a pitiful excuse for a DIS friend right now. School is keeping me busy enough, but then add on the part-time job and getting ready for Sophie's party, and I have not had time to do much else. Instead of spending what little time I have tonight to do responses, I hope you'll be okay with something much better than my words - Disney pictures. I did read everyone's comments, and I even started responding (late last night/early this morning?) but my eyes closed on me.

Anyway, let's see more of Vero real quick.

Inside the main building.

An explanation, as if we need one.

Poolside.

Today, Brooklynn was going to do archery.

The girls sometimes pick up flowers and petals that have fallen. Many of them are in a vase in my room. I have a lot of Disney travels in that jar of dried flowers and leaves.

When the archery group had gathered, we walked back along the bridge breezeway and down the street a little way.

This was an example of an activity which could have been done in a better way. The cast member did a slipshod job of leading, explaining, and showing the kids how to hold the bow and arrow, and she acted like she really didn't much know what she was doing herself.

The adults could see that the kids were going to need more help, so several of them got up to show their kids how to do things and give a few more tips on how to hit the target.

Brooklynn was looking like such a big girl here.

A bunch of arrows went behind the target stand, and the girl kept having to go back there and get them. She freaked out at one point about a spider and decided she wasn't going to get any more. I guess maybe somebody went back in the woods later and retrieved some. I would have thought they would have some kind of barrier back there or have a cleared section to at least keep arrows up close to the target and/or easy to find, but they just went all over the place in the wooded area.

Brooklynn enjoyed her three minutes of bow and arrow time, but Jill and I thought maybe there was a better way to do this whole thing.

A Vero palm tree.

Looks like the girls picked up an after-archery snack.

Back at the cottage - lunch.

The sea turtles were a gift to the girls from Marc and Anita. I think I missed that they had done the turtle walk. Did I? I'm so not with it on some things with this report because of time. The turtle walk was so high on my list, but I didn't get to go because my leg was not cooperating. Marc, Anita, Jill, John, and Brooklynn went, and they did get to see a mother sea turtle lay her eggs. I was very happy Brooklynn had been able to see something so cool. :thumbsup2

I miss this little face so much. I cannot wait to see her and her big and little sisters this weekend.

Okay, hope you enjoyed a few Disney Vero minutes. The rest of the week and weekend will be a blur, so I will check back when I can. I'm keeping up a little bit with everyone's kids going back to school, broken bones, Disney trips, sports victories, etc. on FB in little spurts, too. Distown is just very, very busy right now!

Nice you could pop in for a few minutes. I am struggling too with summer winding down, I have to transition to Fall.

Not as busy but I have lots of other things going on in and around.

Everyone being busy lets me catch up a bit. :lmao: :goodvibes

I hope everyone has a great start to the school year. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the update MeMom. With the girls going back to school this week I'm finding it impossible to keep up with Facebook and Dising so I've given up and am just keeping up with one or the other. Hopefully next week the new routine will start to click a little better.

Hope the party is great!

Fun pictures! It looks like they had fun with archery, even though it was poorly run.

How sweet of Marc & Anita to get the girls those turtles! Adorable!

I hope you have a great time this weekend!

Looks like Brooklynn might have gotten better instruction on her Merida visit that at this activity. I'm sure the after activity treat made up for it.

Start of school has made us very busy too. Lots of after school activities. But it's also an exciting time too. I'm ready for football season.

MeMom, I am a horrible Dis'er right now! I took a look back through most of your Vero pictures. :thumbsup2 I missed that you got a part-time job. What are you doing? I hope your school year is off to a good start and that things settle into a nice routine for you (and me!) soon. :goodvibes

Oh MeMom, don't put yourself down. I'm starting to really get anxious with all this summer work I have to finish for AP classes. Everyone is at the period where school is starting and they are getting much busier than before, trying to make a smooth transition from summer vacation to school in the fall. Everyone understands. Take your time with the updates, we'll all be ready to comment once they come around! :thumbsup2

I'm in love with those DisKid towels with the names on them. I honestly want one! I'd have the coolest towel around. :goodvibes

BUNNY! OMG, dying of cuteness right now

That archery class did seem a bit of a mess. And she wouldn't go back to get the arrows because of a spider? Okay? I definitely agree with you and Jill, MeMom, that's a bit strange. I've gotten better archery instructions in a P.E. class and there was a lot they had to tell us and make sure we understood. Oh well, maybe Disney got enough complaints to fix it up. :teeth:

Mmmmm, Mickey Rice Krispie Treats! :hyper:

Can't wait to read about more! :mickeyjum

How cute that the Pool house is called Eb and Flo! :cool1:
Lots of touches of Disney cleverness throughout!
Could it be time for the wee one to be one? Wow! Enjoy!

Enjoyed the update! A Spa at the Vero Beach resort does seem a little bit redundant when you have a balcony to sit on and listen to the crashing ocean waves. :beach:

I agree that the archery program could have been done a whole lot better and been a lot more enjoyable for the kids. At least Brooklyn enjoyed her experience. :thumbsup2

What a treasure of memories that jar of dried flowers and leaves must be for you! :goodvibes

Hope you have a wonderful weekend with the girls!!! ::yes::

I hope everyone has a great start to the school year.

I am wondering if any of our DIS families still don't start school until after Labor Day? That's what we used to do long ago. Some northern states/school systems might still wait.

I think it is easier to keep up on FB, because you can see many people at once instead of just one or a small group over here on the reports. I still love the reports for all of the pictures and better storytelling, though - when time allows, that is.

Fun pictures! It looks like they had fun with archery, even though it was poorly run.

They are very thoughtful people. ::yes::

I think we will have a wonderful weekend. Sophie won't understand the fuss, but hopefully she'll enjoy the pictures when she is older. :thumbsup2

Great Update MeMom!
Hope that school becomes less busy for you.

We got notice today of evaluations - which principal will be doing ours. I had the head principal last year, so I get the assistant principal this year. They switch each year. She's easier to talk to, but she's tougher on grading. The principal is not as easy to talk to, but he grades easier. I don't get a choice, though, so what it is is what it is.

You know, I think you are right! They needed Merida there. :thumbsup2

Two of our local teams are playing on national TV on Sunday. It's a big thing here right now, of course.

Maybe we should start the Horribly Busy DISers Club?

I just picked up a little part-time deal that works with my limited and very selective availability. It won't pay much, but it'll add up to a few Disney dollars for our Christmas trip.

Those towels were fun, weren't they?

Maybe on another day another cast member would have been more helpful. Maybe we should have tried it again.

Could it be time for the wee one to be one? Wow! Enjoy!

Yes, they did have creativity in their signs. Lots of mistakes, but lots of creativity. :upsidedow

The wee one is one!
Happy Birthday to the third and last sister! party: :bday:
Hope she has fun tomorrow at her Dumbo's Storybook Circus party. :dumbo:

Hope you have a wonderful weekend with the girls!!!

I had looked for a glass jar at Disney World to put those flower petals in, but nothing tickled my fancy for a long time. I finally found the perfect one at the F&G Festival, so that was appropriate and perfect for what I needed. When I see it, I think of the girls stopping to gather the petals and leaves, and I smile.

Brooklynn did enjoy her few minutes of archery, so that's all that really mattered. :goodvibes

I am going to give them a smooch attack when they get here. It's been three weeks, and we don't go three weeks very often. It's a killer!

Hope you enjoyed playing hooky today. ;)

party: :bday: party:
SOPHIE KATE

Hope you enjoy your party. :dance3:

More of Vero.

Bella ended up with both of these before we left Vero.

Sorry so blurry.

Alright! They have them here, too!

I like Mickey pirates and Jake pirates, not realistic pirates.

Lobby decor.

This is where someone told us we should eat.

That's it for now. That was just a batch of pictures that I think I had skipped previously. Have a great weekend, everyone! Wish you could all come and celebrate Sophie's first with us tomorrow!

Lurker here- my kids go back on Sept 3. First time since I've had kids in school that it's been after Labor Day, with the exception of Hurricane Irene when the first three days were "snow days". We are in Connecticut. Love the Vero Beach stuff, we were there in early July, but didnt take near as many pictures!

I look forward to the Sophie first birthday pictures and reading about the fun party you have planned.

After seeing the Vero Beach pictures, I am ready to mke a side visit to the beach before or after my next Disney trip. The sad thing is I do not know when the next trip is going to happen.

Well, now it's a game, like finding Hidden Mickeys. Points to Anita on this one. Who will spot the next one?

Hope Sophie's birthday was amazing for the whole clan. :goodvibes
