Hakuna Kidani, What a Turtleful Phrase!

Happy Saturday, all! I hope everyone has a great day. I'm taking Caroline to the American Girl store in downtown Chicago for some shopping & lunch. Should be fun!

To all my teacher friends, it seems crazy that we're talking about another school year already. Where does the time go?!?! Summer is going FAST!!

I have been tracing and cutting out paper doll clothes for my students to use on our first full day. I'm using an explorers type theme, so they are going to decorate their dolls to represent themselves and put their names on their safari hats. I have a ton of animals in my room ready to go to their appropriate habitats when I get them set up. I am stressing over a $20.00 frilled lizard at Hobby Lobby. He is so cool looking, and he would be a wonderful addition to some other plastic friends I have, but twenty bucks is a lot of money. I know I will regret it if I don't get him, though, so I think I might go get him today. :) I doubt there is another middle-aged woman quite as excited about that little piece of shaped plastic as I am. :upsidedow

I have also bought the stuff for my bulletin boards and dropped it off in my room, but I have not put the boards up yet. As much as it is not fun to think about leaving carefree days behind and getting back in the swing of work, I cannot complain. I feel extremely blessed to have a job that allows me so much vacation time. ::yes::

Have a fun day with Caroline! We will look forward to seeing pictures.

There was on more picture from Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe.

Then I snapped a picture of the path to Adventureland.

That is the best entrance to a land, in my opinion. The physical entrance itself is cool as it transitions you to another area, but add the music in, and it's really effective in whisking you away to adventures with pirates, flying carpets, and jungle animals. :goodvibes

Back up front to the Emporium.

Yeah, this is my summer motto. :thumbsup2

I thought about this for Trent and Brandi, but didn't get it.

I thought about this, but Jasmine's nose is a bit long here.

Fun magnets. You may choose one. Which will it be?

I would choose the Tropical Serenade one.

Pressed penny choices.

Window displays.

More Sorceror play.

To the bus stop. Which number do you think I went to?

Old bus. New bus.

Figured I better grab a monorail picture while I could.

Empty bus.

Almost there.

I had taken the Pop bus. I wanted a few pictures from there, and then I was going to walk the backside/50's sidewalk to AoA, because I had not done that yet.

Very familiar territory.

Any day I am reading this sign in person is a magical day!

I hope you get to see this movie. It is cute.

Pop gets the multiple choice version of trivia.

A quick peek in the food court.....

and in the lobby.

The happy, lively Hippy Dippy Pool.

The somewhat quieter Bowling Pin Pool.

On the path that connects Pop to AoA.

Arriving at AoA.

Okay, I am out of first day pictures. Jill, let me know when Day Two is loaded.

Have a fun Saturday, all!

So much fun! We're on the road to Disney right now. We should be there around 12. I'll be posting pics on Facebook, so you can get a little bit of magic. Funny thing about my training yesterday. They let us all go early because the fire alarms at the high school it was at went off and we all had to leave the building. Lol! So I didn't have to sit through it the whole day.

I would like the Haunted Mansion magnet!! I think I might do a few pressed pennies this trip. I have no idea what I would do with them though. :confused3. Have a great Saturday!!!

I like the transition to the entry of Adventureland too. It seems just perfect!

I really did guess you'd go to Pop!

I'd pick the Squeeze Me magnet - just for the funny innuendo and the Sorcerer Mickey Let the Memories Begin pressed penny!

Thanks for taking us on the tour of Pop.

It's so funny to think that I have never actually used the proper Adventureland entrance. I always end up getting there through the back door by Frontierland. It looks so cool and the transition must be so cool because I remember how magical it was even when leaving.

Do I really just have to pick one magnet? I don't know if I should go with the HM one or the Sunset Serenade one! URGH, DISER PROBLEMS!

Love that you still got pictures from Pop on here! Monsters University

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Too many choices. I wish I could have them all.

I picked POP for the bus stop too. You get to see so much by taking the long way. I have to get DH to slow down and take the long way.

Can't wait to see pictures of your explorers room. Don't forget to use the 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby.

I like the Jiminy Cricket magnet. What was the walkway by the 50's like? I have just used the bridge, but have wondered about following the lake around to AOA.

Hope you have had a magical beginning! :wizard: Keep us supplied with pictures. I'm feeling the Disney blues big time as school is just around the corner! How many weeks until fall break???

You can thank me later for that alarm pulling thing. ;)

I have thought the same thing - the pressed pennies are a cheap souvenir, but I have never started a book. I guess we could keep them on a chain.

I had a busy Saturday. Housework, schoolwork, and cooking lunch for tomorrow kept me busy. I just put my potatoes in the fridge, though, and I am done for the day. The rest of the evening is free. :thumbsup2

I thought you might guess Animal Kingdom Lodge. I really should have sucked up the pain and gone to Wilderness Lodge while I had the chance. I ended up not going over there at all on this trip. :(

Yes, you need to go into Adventureland from the front sometime. Youtube 'walking around Magic Kingdom' when you have about half an hour to kill. There is a guy who does a walking tour of the whole thing, and it's fun to pretend walk with him. As you approach the Adventureland bridge, you can hear that cool music. I don't really think it has the greatest rides in the park, but it has the coolest approach/entrance to the rides.

One magnet, young man. Just one. ;)
I looked at them, but I didn't buy any.

Thanks to Jill, I did use a 40% coupon. I didn't even know they had those on the internet. I wish I had known when I bought all the stuff for Trent's and Brandi's rehearsal dinner. I got the cool frilled-lizard. :cool1: I didn't see your post until after I got home, so I am glad Jill mentioned it. Thanks for looking out for me! :goodvibes

Yep, you have to get your man to do some resort hopping with a food theme to entice him. Tell him he can pick a food and drink at every resort to enjoy as you walk around. :)

I like the Jiminy Cricket magnet. What was the walkway by the 50's like? I have just used the bridge, but have wondered about following the lake around to AOA.

Jiminy Cricket would be my second choice, and Orange Bird or Mary Poppins would follow. But I only get to pick one in this 'game'. ;)

The walk is just an extended sidewalk running past the 50's and going along the lake. It's not any big thing, but since I have always taken the bridge path, too, it was something different, and you know I love doing anything new and different when it comes to Disney experiences.

I actually did something new and different at Sea World, too. Something I thought I would never do. I am still in shock that I did it, really, but I did. That will come later in the report, unless Jill put it on FB when it happened. I am not sure if she did or didn't.

Oh, the magnets!
I'll take Poppins and Marc will have the turkey leg. :rotfl2: Not really. Not since he got pooped on by all of those birds while eating one in Frontierland....

Actually some of those magnets came home with me this time...

I look forward to reading about new and different at Sea World.

I love the feel and music loops of Adventureland. One of my favorite ways to end a Disney night is to journey over there really late at night and go on the Jungle Cruise once or twice :)

You have amazing self-control for going to MK and not riding anything. :goodvibes

Ours is usually a half gallon of milk and assorted Ziploc bags of MeMom's leftovers.
You waste space with a half gallon of milk??? :goodvibes

No one plays with her because she kicks everybody's tails!
Hmmm....... I love a good scrabble challenge!!! ::yes::

Nice tour of CBR, Pop and AoA.....even the shopping. I'll take the Squeeze Me magnet!

I have to agree, I think the new mine train ride will be a hit! They've really made a lot of progress! :thumbsup2

Hi! :wave2: Sorry I'm late, but I'm very happy to be here! I missed all of the last report :( I'll have to go back and read it at some point. I'm determined to keep up this time ::yes:: I missed my DIS friends!

And I'm late on this too, but congrats to Trent and Brandi :goodvibes

Your pictures are making me miss Disney. It feels like I haven't been there in a really long time, but it was just a few months ago. I think it's because that whole trip was kind of a surreal blur  It happened so fast since we booked it less than two weeks in advance. And we were both sick. My mom was sick before we left, and she was fine by the third day. I caught something on the plane, which kicked in right after my mom got better, and I was sick the rest of the trip :faint: It didn't slow us down too much though. We still had a great time :thumbsup2

If you play Words with Friends, my name is almost the same as here...Disneybelle9........I had too many games going a few months ago, so I slowed down, but then got Candy Cru****is! Now I am trying to back off of that! Candy Crush

Somehow I missed a few updates...now I'm caught up. Enjoyed dinner at CBR. I love that place, and would have been happy to stay there again. However, I'm making the kids happy, so we are staying at their choice - POFQ. That slide just looks like too much fun to them. Lol!

I saw a few magnets I wanted, the Tiki birds win for me. I love getting magnets because they are a cheap and I can pick out a couple of them and they make me happy at home.

I am loving this virtual window shopping! I love Disney mercy, even though I hardly buy any! I just love it! And I love the tours of resorts and what not...counting down the days!

Lots of fun updates filled with great shopping pics!!! Oh boy I want one of those paintbrush pens-sooo cute.

Hi all, hope everyone had a nice weekend!

I wanted to post a few quick pictures from Caroline and I at the American Girl store in Chicago - very fun, we had a great time, and as you'll see by the third picture she was tired out! (I was too!!) :lovestruc

With Kirsten; she kept telling the waitresses that it was the doll's birthday too!

The birthday cake: we did the Birthday Girl package and it was awesome - I was very impressed. We took that cake home to her mom, dad and sister, had it for dessert that night AND dessert at lunch today, and there is still some left over!!

This was the "after" picture: One tired girl!

Thanks for letting me hijack, MeMom and Jill! pixiedust: Have a great night, everyone!
