Hakuna Kidani, What a Turtleful Phrase!

Thanks so much everyone! :grouphug: 2 of them went really well and the other...well, I wouldn't have taken it if it had been offered as it turned out so no big deal!:goodvibes. The one I really want went exceptionally well and I am just waiting to set up an interview with the big boss later this week (but it feels like a formality). I really appreciate everyone's support!! I know it definitely helped and meant a lot to me!:flower3:

MeMom I will be thinking and praying for your friend to find a new opportunity too! :thumbsup2

pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: Some pixie dust that it all goes well. Prayers, too, I believe in God and Disney pixie dust! :rotfl2::rotfl:

Catching back up!
Happy belated birthday Sophie!:bday:
Sophie's birthday looked like a lot of fun! I want the barnstormer for my birthday!

I dont mean to hijack the TR here but can I put in a little prayer request from everyone? My current job situation is becoming quite stressful and I am looking for a new position. Tomorrow I have 3 interviews and I know the power of DisTown prayers is super powerful and could definitely help me! Thanks everyone!

pixiedust: For you and continued good thoughts for a new job.

MeMom - thoughts for your friend too!!! pixiedust:

A belated :bday: to Sophie! It looks like you had a great party and the kids really enjoyed it! I would have had to chow down on the Mickey Head rice crispies treat. I'm sure it was a lot better even than the ones they have at Disney!

Loved the "cut-out" photo-ops you had at the party with the boys making the strong man faces, and how funny all the wild animals you had caged up, while the "wild animals" were on the floor in front. :rotfl2: Good to see Brooklyn all smiles and on her feet after her surgery! :thumbsup2

I don't think I've ever seen a small child ignore the birthday cake like Sophie did, except one other time when I think the lit candle on the cake upset them! :worried:

I'm thinking you are correct about you and Jill running the activities at Vero Beach during the summer. I think your birthday party ideas put the one at Vero to shame! ::yes:: And Bella sure looked more comfortable decorating cupcakes at your party than she did at their's!!! :goodvibes

Continued thoughts and prayers that job situations work out soon for sunny_stace, and for your friend, MeMom!

:offtopic: Hope you don't mind, MeMom and Jill, my little trip report doesn't get near the traffic that you guys do and I need some help.

I am trying to figure out what our best timing option is for our 2nd MK day on our upcoming trip. :confused3 We are going on a MNSSHP day but not going to the party. I am torn between doing rope drop, arriving after lunch, or heading in late afternoon. What do you all think the best option is crowd wise? We'd probably do 9-1, 1-5, or 3-7 - thoughts?

Thanks for your help! Sorry for the hijack!

I've never been during that time but my personal preference would be 9-1. Take that what it's worth lol

A shorter park day due to the nighttime MNSSHP typically has lower numbers. However, there are also those who don't realize (or just don't care or want to get up early) and still come late morning. If you want to maximize your park time (especially if you have limited time available) then rope drop is always the better way to go and a nighttime party day is no exception. Definitely do the 9-1 timeframe IMO. :goodvibes

That's what I would say as well.

Sophie's party looks like it was quite a hit! It's hard to believe she is 1 already. Too funny that she wasn't interested in her birthday cake, you just never can tell how they are going to react.

Hope you have a great (if busy) week! We don't have too many extras going on right now. Still adjusting to school and trying to get ready for our big Disney trip in 12 days! We ran a bunch of errands this weekend trying to get everything we need so we can use next weekend to get mostly packed. I'm spending my lunch hour today shopping for a bathing suit - I will take any and all happy thoughts for that experience.

Yep, Smiling Sophie has been blessing us for a whole year now. :lovestruc

The good thing about busy is that the week has flown by! It's almost the weekend again! It won't be an early Friday night crash night, but when I do finally get home Friday night, I will have a good crash then. :thumbsup2

What a fun party!!! And too funny about that smash cake -- you just never know how they'll react. For Caroline's 1st birthday she just kept looking at us like "You mean I can eat that?!" Lol

Poor Bella at the Vero party - that's kind of odd that parents couldn't stay, yes?

Sounds like you have a busy week!! Praying that goes fast for you & Saturday is here before you know it.

That party room just wasn't big enough. It would be good if they had a bigger party room and then maybe an adult sitting area with a window. Parents could be near, yet away.

It's funny how some babies react to the cake! My youngest niece Elle wouldn't touch it with her hands and just cautiously licked it! It looks like a very fun party (they always do though )

You know we thought Sophie would dig in, but she wasn't impressed.

Cute Birthday pictures!! You girls have real talent for party planning!!

That could become our business one day. After I retire, I'm going to need another job. ::yes::

Sophie's party was cute and so original. My kids wouldn't get into their cakes either. I blame it on their dad. The "barnstormer" looked like a big hit. Great idea!

Yay for Disney shopping pictures. It wouldn't be a Memom trip report without them.

I do take a few shopping pictures. When I get to the March trip, there will plenty, since the girls weren't with me to take my attention. ;)

Happy birthday Sophie! Looks like a really fun party.

Jill in CO

It was. No more kiddie parties until April.

I'd have to agree with Carson! That's a pretty cool looking party!

Thanks. :goodvibes

Loved the party! Everyone looks like they're having a great time. The "Barnstormer" does look like a lot of fun. That picture really shows what a great time the girls were having. I hope Sophie eventually ate some of her cake. I hate to pass on cake.

Busy, busy week for you. I'm so glad you don't have to wait long until you can see your girls again.

Vero has nothing on a Jill and Memom party. They really need to take lessons form you two.

She didn't eat cake. I offered her some ice cream a little later, but it was too cold, and she made faces.

You guys throw the best birthday parties! And always Disney themed. Love it!

Oh and another birthday party at Vero Beach! So many birthdays around MeMom TR Land. Looks like another fun one. I think it's so awesome how the cupcake decorating seems much more popular these days than when I was that age.

Getting busy over here too. Have a lot of summer work that I held off over the summer and now is coming back to me. Senior year starts Wednesday. Here's to making it through this week.

I love cupcake decorating!
Oh, and I guess the kids do, too. :)

Happy Senior Year!
The 'star' player on a local team here was in a game shown on ESPN2 this past weekend. He's already signed to play for University of Tennessee. He hurt his shoulder in that game and is out for the season. Make sure you don't injure your way out of any senior fun!

How is it possible that Sophie is already one? Another great and creative party. Looked like so much fun. Life has been so busy here also. It seems like we never have a free minute. Ethan started Middle School this year. He has adjusted well. He has joined the Tech Club. Evan is in the 5th grade play. They are doing Mulan. Between running them back and forth and working on top of that , there is hardly any time. We are also remodeling our kitchen. So needless to say, I can only DIS for a short time. I am going back to get caught up on your TR.

Yes, you are and will be a busy girl! Save us all ten rows of seats for Mulan. :thumbsup2

I am barely treading water with my DIS time.

I'm back getting all caught up.

I just can't believe how big the girls are.

The lobby of Art of Animation looks so nice. I didn't get the chance to visit on our last trip like I had hoped to.

Yay shopping pictures!

I am absolutely bothered that Epcot is not listed after Magic Kingdom on the sign at AoA! I always name them in order of opening.

Simba waffles! Those are so cute!

I have seen several movies at the theater in Downtown Disney. On longer trips, it's actually become a kind of tradition for us.

Love Vero! Have to make it back there soon.

I stronglly suggest that the people at Vero check their spelling skills on their signs.

Beautiful cottage! We've only stayed at the Inn when we've gone.

I'm glad that Brooklynn is recovering well. Love the different colored casts!

Brooklynn has been great with her casts. I'm happy she has taken it all so well.

When you go back to Vero, maybe you should take a Sharpie and correct all the signs. :rolleyes1

I can't believe Sophie is already 1. The party looked amazing. I know your girls big and small appreciate it. You know all the perfect touches.

We had fun, Kim. We need another hippo meet soon. We still have Dumbo buckets for you!

Stacy thoughts and prayers with you tomorrow.

Good luck Stacy! I just went through a job change, so I know how stressful applications and interviews are. Hope everything went well with your interviews.

Best of luck today, Stacy!

Prayers being sent your way! Good luck!

Sending lots of prayers

Some pixie dust that it all goes well. Prayers, too, I believe in God and Disney pixie dust!

For you and continued good thoughts for a new job.

MeMom - thoughts for your friend too!!!

Our Disney friends are awesome!

Loved, loved, LOVED the pictures from Sophie's party. OMG - So creative! Your own version of Storybook Circus. I am certain the barnstormer was a big hit!!!!!

Anita's right - that IS the cutest little scooter face back there at Vero!

We had to make Barnstormer last, or they never would have bothered with our silly little games.

Just stopping by for a quick hello!

I'm enjoying your Vero pictures & seeing all the happy faces at Sophie's party. Happy Belated Birthday Sophie! What a year it's been!

With the kids back to school, I'm hoping for some more DIS time and to hopefully stay caught up!

I hope to get in some good DIS time this Saturday.

I have thought so much about where we were at this time last year.

Catching back up!
Happy belated birthday Sophie!
Sophie's birthday looked like a lot of fun! I want the barnstormer for my birthday!

I'll see if Dennie and his four-wheeler are available. :)

I hope my friend gets just the right job, too. :)

Bella was very much at home decorating cupcakes in the midst of our chaos. Hmmmm......maybe that's why she wasn't comfortable at Vero. With the kids not knowing each other, maybe there was a lack of chaos. ::yes::

The wild animals will be headed back to school tomorrow. They had a nice escape, but it's back to being educational plush animals now.

Yep, 9-1 would be my vote.

Thanks to everyone for the advice! I'm going with the 9-1 time slot for our second MK day and finalizing plans.

Of course, I won't stop tweaking plans until the trip is over :rolleyes1

My internet is off so it feels like I missed so much in DIStown.

Happy Belated birthday to Sophie! Her party looked like a lot of fun as all your parties do. So surprising that she didn't destroy the cake.

Stacy I'm glad your interviews went well, sending prayers and pixie dust that you get a call soon pixiedust:.

Sunny Stace best of luck with your job hunt. Prayers sent your way.

MeMom I am enjoying all the updates. I have been home sick now for almost 2 weeks with another Colitis flare up. I guess I am asking for prayers also. It looks like I may be admitted to the hospital tomorrow since the meds are not doing the job. UGH! I guess I really need to seriously think about surgery. But right now I need to concentrate on getting better. We are supposed to leave for Disney on Oct. 4th!! Hopefully a few days of IV med's will do the trick!!

Love seeing the birthday pics!!:) Cannot believe little Sophie is a year old already!!

The problem is.....after these parties I have all these random things that I have to find a place for! Now I have a blow-up cannon, and I don't have a blow-up cannon closet.

Since it's football time, we need to come up with a Distown cheer for her getting better.

Ooooh, oooh, oooh....
how about this one?

Give me an S!
Give me an I!
Give me a C and K!
Kick those sickies far away!
Yay, healthy Distown!
:cheer2:

Yeah, I am so not a cheerleader. :upsidedow

But I still bet you were saying that in a cheerleader voice, weren't ya? ;)

Did we leave off here?

In the afternoon, we had a visit from Daisy and Louie and their mom.

Gavin and Ava joined the crowd of Disney kids.

Look at her cute little headband.

Trying to get them all together for a picture.

Anita had provided the pirate shirts.

On the front porch swing.

Look who else wants to join the fun!

Heading to dinner.

We had a date with some pirates at this place.

Fun table setting.

Waiting to go in.

They had no idea how much this little pirate was going to eat!

If you look across from Brooklynn, you can see Daisy's and Louie's mom, Wendy.

I wasn't really able to get good pictures of Gavin and Ava at the other end of the table.

Anita got a picture of the Doanld holding a traveling companion/toy, but I can't remember what the toy was now. A duck, I think.

Mickey butter.

The meal was good, and it was fun to have a big group together. Looking at the pictures, I see that Marc managed to escape most of them, but he was there at the meal.

I will tell on myself here, too. There were people taking food out from their table in a box when they left as we came in. When it was time for us to leave, I asked for a box for some of the meat we had left. They said they couldn't give me one, so I guess maybe the other people brought their own, or maybe they ordered something separately - I don't know. I do know that it pained me to leave a pile of perfectly good BBQ, chicken, and ribs, so I put four chunks of meat in a napkin, stuffed it in a ziplock bag, and left with a purse full of meat. I truly had become Jarvis's mother! :rotfl:

More this weekend.

Prayers that you get better soon. Can't miss that Disney trip.

Thank you!!

Thanks Pat!

MeMom they would have to remove the diseased part of my colon. That would be the first surgery & then I would have a bag for a few months (TMI-I know) then I would have to go back in & they would reconstruct with my intestines. So that is why I have been putting it off but have been dealing with flare ups for 10 years now & they are getting worse & worse.

Anyway back to the fun stuff! Leave it to Anita to have cute shirts for all the kiddos.

What a cute place for dinner & such cute table settings!!:goodvibes
You are too funny with the left over meat in the baggie. I don't blame you though. Can't waste good food!!:)
