Hakuna Kidani, What a Turtleful Phrase!

Sophie's birthday pictures were awesome! I love the circus theme. So cute! Happy belated birthday, Sophie!!! :dance3:

Seriously? Do they not proofread anything? :faint:

When I see a sign that's been professionally printed with a spelling or grammar error, I just cringe. To put something permanently on a sign and not proofread it??? I can't even imagine. It's sort of like getting a tattoo that's misspelled (okay, maybe not as bad, but still). I once saw a guy in court that had a tattoo on his arm that said, "I love my childrens"....so not only did he misspell it, but the person that tattooed him did too.

Fun table setting.

Cute!! :thumbsup2

I will tell on myself here, too. There were people taking food out from their table in a box when they left as we came in. When it was time for us to leave, I asked for a box for some of the meat we had left. They said they couldn't give me one, so I guess maybe the other people brought their own, or maybe they ordered something separately - I don't know. I do know that it pained me to leave a pile of perfectly good BBQ, chicken, and ribs, so I put four chunks of meat in a napkin, stuffed it in a ziplock bag, and left with a purse full of meat. I truly had become Jarvis's mother! :rotfl:

:lmao: My granny keeps ziploc bags in her purse for this very purpose!

Thank you!!

Thank you!!

Thanks Pat!

MeMom they would have to remove the diseased part of my colon. That would be the first surgery & then I would have a bag for a few months (TMI-I know) then I would have to go back in & they would reconstruct with my intestines. So that is why I have been putting it off but have been dealing with flare ups for 10 years now & they are getting worse & worse.

Anyway back to the fun stuff! Leave it to Anita to have cute shirts for all the kiddos.

What a cute place for dinner & such cute table settings!!:goodvibes
You are too funny with the left over meat in the baggie. I don't blame you though. Can't waste good food!!:)

Well, shucks - I hope they can fix you up without all that surgery, but if you have to go through that in the short run to make the long run better, we'll be here to cheer you on along the way! :cheer2:

You did see earlier that I am quite the cheerleader, right? ;)
I can totally come up with a colon cheer. :)

You know, it's not like we had just ordered a brand new plate of food. That was what was genuinely left over, and all they were going to do is throw it in a trash can. I'm too poor and frugal to watch that happen. Believe me, if I had had a box, MORE stuff would have gone home with us!

I think one sign error might have been overlooked, but how many is that now?

I have zero desire for a tattoo, but if I had one that was spelled wrong, that would be terrible.

My kids lovingly make fun of my ziplock bags - until they need one.

That pirate themed restaurant looks absolutely fantastic! Something like that right at WDW would be perfect for my nephew! Having such a big crew would have been a ton of fun as well and it certainly looks like everyone enjoyed themselves! That would have been a blast! I'm glad you were prepared with your ziplock bag MeMom! ;) You were not only Jarvis' mother but mine too!

Anita, those pirate T-shirts are adorable!! :thumbsup2

Sunny Stace best of luck with your job hunt. Prayers sent your way.

MeMom I am enjoying all the updates. I have been home sick now for almost 2 weeks with another Colitis flare up. I guess I am asking for prayers also. It looks like I may be admitted to the hospital tomorrow since the meds are not doing the job. UGH! I guess I really need to seriously think about surgery. But right now I need to concentrate on getting better. We are supposed to leave for Disney on Oct. 4th!! Hopefully a few days of IV med's will do the trick!!

Love seeing the birthday pics!!:) Cannot believe little Sophie is a year old already!!

I will be sending prayers your way as well. I understand exactly where you're coming from. I had a nasty IBS flare-up last fall right before my trip, and was so stressed about traveling I almost didn't want to go anymore! i was so strict with my diet and hardly ate for a couple of weeks before we left. However, it was like magic because once we were on Disney property I had no problems! I'll be praying you're feeling better and can focus on enjoying your trip! :goodvibes. Take care of yourself:hug:

Also, I got the job! :dance3: Thank you everyone for your good thoughts and prayers! You guys are the best! :grouphug:

Congrats on the job!

I would love to go to this meal. All those cute kids in their pirate shirts, the cute table setting and lots of good company. The characters were cute too. I didn't realize you could eat with characters there.

What a cute pirate dinner you had! I love the shirts, so cute! :goodvibes And again, what is it with the snake photos? :scared:

All of the kids look so cute in their pirate shirts!

Cool pirate dinner! I didn't know that Shutters did that.

The more I see of your Vero trip, the more I think I need a Vero trip in my future.

And I think you should take a Vero trip. Looks like it is a unanimous vote. Book it!

Looks like it was a fun dinner. Got to love Pirates!

Goofy and Donald pirates, for sure.

It definitely adds that Disney touch to be able to have a character meal. ::yes::

Ssssssssomething sssssscary about ssssssnakes, dude?

And now you know. That's one good thing about reading trip reports - you find out about new and interesting things to add to your own list of things to do and see. Whenever I see something new in someone's report, it makes me even more excited for our next trip. :thumbsup2

Before I start the next update, I want to ask for good thoughts, prayers, pixie dust, or whatever you believe in for Distown's JillyB. She's going over a little pothole in the road of life healthwise right now, and she needs all the caring, comforting, encouraging support you have. I told her I could come up with a cheer for her, and that's always good for a laugh. :upsidedow Let's all let her know we're here for her as she faces the 'monster' that messes with so many of us. :thumbsup2

Back to Vero, yet again, and an evening of water fun.

Louie was in his jammies after swimming, as his family was making the trip back home, and he would fall asleep in the car. Luckily, they do not have too far to travel, so quickie Disney trips are very do-able.

This evening, our group was headed to a bonfire/sing-along/marshmallow roast.

There were some cute songs, and these cast members did do a wonderful job with this activity. Anita and Jill, do you remember what they were singing?

Marc and Anita were really getting into it.

The fire pit was way to crowded, so we ended up taking our supplies back to the cottage and doing a bug-free, smoke-free version of s'mores making.

Sorry so blurry. You know she looks better than that blur in real life.

Brooklynn tries her hand at stovetop mallow roasting.

Bella, in true Mrs. Cleaver fashion, is wearing her pearls as she does this.

And that appears to be the end of another beautiful day at Disney's Vero Beach Resort.

Good morning! What might you be catching this fine morning, sir?

Cheerios for breakfast before heading out. Even Sophie knows how make a Hidden Mickey with just about anything.

Some of Anita's Disney magnets.

On this last Vero day, we were going to Brevard Zoo. This was a new one for us, so we were excited.

Getting prepared for the sun.

Lots to learn.

Those who helped pave the zoo paths for us.

Where we are.

Spoonbill.

There is something very familiar about these turtles. :scratchin

A place for a mingo lover to get a treat.

I have a list of errands to run, so I will leave you with this mingo reading material until next time.

Swimming and smores sound like a great way to end a night. I've never tried making them over the stove but that's a good idea.

Looks like a nice zoo. the set up reminds me of the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans. They have a big fountain area and everything branches off from there. They also have a Flamingo Cafe at the entrance. I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures. We love to visit zoos in new areas.

I have lots of errands than need to be ran but I just don't want to leave the house. Too bad that some HAVE to be done.

I'll be saying prayers for JillyB and I'll remember her at church tomorrow too.

I have never roasted marshmallows on a stove top- I am amazed that it works and I will need to try this ASAP!

I think the Flamingo poem is fun! I bet the kids that read it don't stop laughing when they read about "Well, you know..":)

Jilly B -Once again many thoughts and prayers as you navigate through this tough time.

**********************************************************

Do my rounds at work today I stumble upon a sign obviously made by the same sign makers at Vero

****************************************************************

Looks like Anita And Marc were having their own entertainment and a great bug free smoke free idea to s'more inside. :cool1:

Adding my thoughts and prayers for jillyB!!

LOVE the stovetop marshmallow roasting!! Great idea!! :goodvibes

I love the little signs they have at the DVC resorts that show the distance to other Disney resorts and Disney World as well. So cool! :) And what a great idea to do the 'Smores inside! I feel so old school for always doing it outside and not on a kitchen top or whatever like most do now. :thumbsup2 to the awesome magnets and a Mingo cafe! Love it!

Sending pixie dust and good thoughts to JillyB!
