Hair Trial?

Did you do a trial first or did you just have it done day of based on a picture or something? My mom suggests I have a trial, but I'm not sure when we can do this? Right now our only planning trip is going to be next month, but our wedding isn't until 2010.

I did not have a trial..I am a hair stylist so I talked with Ana from Beaute Speciale prior to the wedding to kind of give her an idea of what I wanted and emailed her a picture of my hair so she knew what she would be working with.

I think you will be fine without a trial if there is no way you can have one. Just be clear with you stylist about what you want and bring pictures for inspiration. If you do not like the way your hair is looking while your stylist does your hair please tell her so she can fix it then..if you wait till the end then she will have to start all over again and take more time. We don't get annoyed when you have us fix the problem then and there so don't feel annoying or bad..it is your wedding day and we want the bride to look perfect.

Next month is too early to have a trial..you could change your mind,your hair could be different by 2010,you never know.

I used Ana from Beaute Speciale and I didn't have a trial.
I regret it. My hair wasn't bad, but I didn't really like it for the wedding day...
however when she came back for our MK shoot my hair was much better... so I think a trial would have saved us.. it just would have cost more money..

We have no time for a trial either and I'm super nervous! My mom wants me to do my own hair and makeup and I don't know if I can handle it! I'm thinking about having someone come to just do my hair ... but then without a trial, I'm nervous ... how fast do hairdressers like Ana get booked?

I am also using Ana. We were down this past May for our planning session and I also did an engagement shoot with our photographer (Misty). I planned my hair and makeup trial for the morning of my shoot with Misty. I had my hair and makeup done from 9:00 till around 11:00. My shoot with Misty was for 5:00 that same night. This was the best idea because I was able to see how my hair and makeup looked in my photos with her.

I actually had Ana put my hair up for the hair trial and then she did a half up/half down when she was finished and this is what I used for my photos later that day. I have decided that I like the softer look of half up/half down and that is what I am going with. See my photo in my avatar. That is one of my engagement photos from Misty.

I booked Beaute Speciale for our feb vow renewal and it will be me hair and make up then my mom and our dd will get hair done.. none of us are pickey with our hair ..lol now my make uo is another thing but i have seen all the pics and have tons of faith in all the wonderful ladies here and their word is good to me.

i didn't do a trial either - there wasn't time. I brought a couple pictures and gave feedback as we went.

I did a trial and I am so happy I did. While I liked the style I had originally picked after the trial I was not in love with it on me. It just did not feel right. Had I not had a trial I would have probably been ok with my hair but in the end I loooved my hair and makeup so the trial was worth it!
