I need some tip on how to deal with my hair in the Orlando heat and humidity! I have really thick hair which I straighten at home. I know from last year's trip that it's useless trying to straighten my hair while @ Disney.

So my question is what products do you use to stop your hair frizzing up?!

Please help me :)

I have long thick wavy hair and I'm bringing a shampoo & conditioner by Paul Mitchell that helps with frizzy hair & Frizz-Ease wind-down. I know in the end though I'll just have to keep it up in a ponytail because in 100% humidity nothing really works for me.

I live in FL. and have very thick wavy and slightly curly frizzy hair. The best thing I learned was not to shampoo anything but the scalp-and not every day. In the shower I put curly hair conditioner on the ends and halfway up to scalp. Then leave in curl conditioner after shower. The best products for me are kerastase-but very $$$. So I alternate with my second favorites-BedHead makes a line of curly hair stuff that's great and much less.

Good luck

I never straighten my hair. I actually like the curls - DH says they are sexy.

I use Joigel by Joico. It's a medium hold in a large tube and it smells like grapes.

It holds well w/o feeling sticky. I always bring a scrunchy just in case my hair looks wacky, and put it in a very high pony tail.

Hi! :wave2:

I have naturally curly hair and I used to HATE it. I've decided not to fight the curl anymore. Last year, on a cruise, I got my hair braided in the Bahamas. It was only braided back to about my ears, so it looked like I was wearing a headband. This worked very well for me and I am now looking to find someplace local that I can have this done before my October trip this year.

My only other suggestion is a weird one. I sell Country Bunny Bath and Body products and we carry a shea butter product that I put in my hair. It's a very thick, rich lotion with shea butter (and comes in wonderful fragrances, too). I rub about a nickel-size amount between my hands and then gently "scrunch" into my hair. It really tames the frizzies and defines my curls.

Good luck and have a great trip!

Hi, I too have very curly hair. I did. A couple of years ago while in the states at Meijers, I bought a home staightening perm for under $5.00. Only have to use less then half of it a tada. I love  it. Also in March my DD 16 bought a GOOD straightener. So every couple of months I touch it up with the left over perm. I just love my hair now. It feels thinner too. :Pinkbounc :cool1:

I, too, have long, curly, frizzy hair. It can be a nightmare trying to keep in "tame". I do like the frizz-eze products and have also been using Redkin Outshine (a think cream-like substance I put on my hair after it is "styled"). I tend to change my produts often as my hair seems to get used to a certain product. I have had my hair straightened numerous times and do like the results - but about 3 months after I ask myself why did I straighten my hair?!?!?!

I never leave home without a scrunchie!

My hair is very thick, lots of wavyness, and I have a ton of it. The only thing that I was able to do with it last year was french braid it. When Im at home, it would take forever to dry and straighten it or it was take half of forever to work it to a nice frizz free curl. So the only solution while at WDW was to braid it and throw a hat on top of it. You may also want to see about getting a leave in conditioner.

 I TOO HAVE VERY THICK AND VERY WAVEY HAIR.WHEN MY FAMILY
AND MY SISTERS FAMILY,AFTER OUR FIRST DAY IN DISNEY,WE SAID THE HECK WITH TRYING TO KEEP OUR HAIR NICE SO,IT WAS PONY TAILS FOR THE REST OF THE TRIP. :earboy2:

Boo Hoo - I really wish I hadn't just had my hair cut too short for a pony tail! :scared:

i also have very curly/wavy/frizzy long hair. i swear by AUSSIE products - i use the AUSSIE MOIST shampoo every few days and the AUSSIE MOIST conditioner every day, as well as the AUSSIE THREE MINUTE MIRACLE (the one that says DEEEEEEP - they make an original and a DEEEEEP one). u cant find a better conditioner for curly, frizzy dry hair than THREE MINUTE MIRACLE!!! then i put in some mousse (ive been using the new VO5 mousse) and i let my hair dry naturally - when its still damp i put in some LOREAL STUDIO LINE PUMPING CURLS and then finish off with a little bit of FINESSE TOUCHABLE hairspray just on top & on the sides a tiny bit to keep the curls in place. if its really hot id put my hair in a pony tail. my advice to u is to NOT try to straighten it - go with the curls!!! throw it in a pony tail and go out and enjoy the parks!!!!!! :earboy2:

Its amazing what the FL humity does to my hair. Ill do it with multiple gels and mousses. Crunch it up so it isnt hard. Go outside. An hour or so later, the curls are no more. Gone. They dissapear and in comes frizz. I havent found anything that fully works. I just add more product. Which kinda helps for awhile. I too carry a hair-tie around always and a cute little clip for my hair if one side messes up.

I like my curly hair. But doesnt it seem like we have like way much work to do than straight hair. Curses.

Infusium Leave in Conditioner in the best! My hair is wavy, but I keep it straight. I always use this stuff before blow-drying. It's best if you can get it in the pump spray bottle, cause it's really watery. A ceramic straightener is key too. It causes less damage on hair and is quick. To finish off my hair, I use just a pea size amount of Biosilk, which you can find at a salon. It moderately priced and last forever! It's also good for your skin. Another the with the Infusium and biosilk, you can use them both on your hair all day, whether damp or dry to control frizz.

I go with my curly hair and use curl defining shampoo, conditioner and gel. I give up on straightening and all that nonsense because it never works.
On the cruise I had it braided and I am thinking that I might have the kids at the high school do it for me again. We have a cosmetology program. Maybe I'll ask my ASL student if she can do it as she is on the program.

My hair gets frizzy at times & I use Silk. I can't remember who makes it but it is pricey. Around $20 for a small bottle but all you really need is a dab or two otherwise it makes your hair very greasy.

A hairdresser at JC Penney introduced me to it. I know they sell it at their salon's but I have seen it elsewhere too.

Can you get a hair clip & throw some gel/mouse in your hair & then do the twisty ponytail & clip it up?

It sounds like I have hair like everyone on this thread.....So what I use is "Bed Head After Party". It is the BEST smoothing cream I've ever used (and I have been through lots since I am overly obsessive about my hair) You use it on dry hair, just a little, and work it from the bottom of your hair up to your scalp, to avoid looking greasy. You won't regret buying it!! :)

This stuff is great! I, too, use the same products.

I recently purchased Aveda's Antihumectant and so far so good. Just need a little and it's worked in from the ends. I plan on giving it the true test next month!

Oh and the Silk someone was talking about is probably Sebastian's Biosilk- it has been great for everyday.

I have a similar problem: wavy, THIN hair! I used to straighten it ALL the time, but have recently begun wearing it as is. I apply my Fructis smoothing cream in and then add some mousse and scrunch. This worked for me last month when we were at WDW.

Does anyone else here love the onsite hairdryers as much as I do!?!? I know it is a little OT, but they are so high-powered, and only takes a few mins to get my hair dry. This makes it easier when I do end up strightening my hair, because there is absolutely no moisture left to frizz it up!

I am jealous! I have very thin...baby fine hair! I wind up wearing a hat cause it only takes about 5 minutes for any curl, body, or hair spray to fall right out...hair sticks flat to head and looks greasy!

Don't we always want the hair we don't have?

PS....have some friends who use Nexus Humectress...not as a rinse out...but as a leave in conditioner....works great for them.
