H1B visa program & Disney..- eye opening article affecting many companies.

And it's so boring and vague.

"these workers monitored computers in industrial buildings nearby"

The fact that these employees monitored computers and got replaced isn't something I personally would be talking to the press about.

Dh works with people on these visas and they are MORE expensive to his company than a local employee is. So Disney is, supposedly (and I personally NEVER take the word of a laid off, disgruntled, obviously talking so much they aren't going to get their severance pay or should pay it back, former employee as gospel), paying to get these employees (and their families can come, too) to come over and monitor computers? What were those employees doing wrong?

Please note that IT is in Seattle, as far as I (with a husband in the Seattle IT community), know. And these people were in Orlando.

Didn't it end up that Disney eventually backtracked on the firings, after getting the bad press?

My husband is IT in Orlando. He works in the Disney corporate office in Celebration. Your response sounds very flippant and insulting to anyone just trying to make a living. As far as I ( A human living in the Orlando community) know.

Sadly these practices will continue until we speak with our wallets, which our families intends to do. Good news is I am sure someone will take our place in line!
