H&V Fantasmic or MM non-Fantasmic

I currently have a fantasmic packaged book for H&V. I'm kind of getting worried about it because of all of the negative reviews. I just checked and there are no openings for MM Fantasmic, but there are several openings for non-fantasmic. Which option do you recommend?

Other factors: DS1 is 2.5 yo and is a very picky eater...hence the reason I initially opted for the buffet - figured there would be something he would eat...but after all the reviews, I'm not so sure. But he does like and eat Italian food. We are going memorial day weekend...specifically looking at Saturday, May 24th, so I'm figuring the lines to get into Fantasmic will be pretty atrocious. We have a 2.5 yo and an almost 1 year old going...so I don't really see them standing patiently in line for 2 hours.

Other questions: I'm pretty sure the 10:30 showing will be a little late for the kids ;-)...but, just to get all info....I've read for the most part that if you go to the second showing, wait time/lines are not as much of an issue. Will that still be the case on memorial day weekend? If we try to go to the first show, can an adult stand in line and then be rejoined by the kids as the time to go into the amphitheater gets closer?

I have always thought of the buffet .......not bad........especially with your kids....I would keep the buffet. We are going again in a few ......and we have a party of 9.....

Truthfully, we do not like H&V and will not go back. I think you need to go with the meal your family will be most comfortable with.

Being Memorial Day, it will probably be crowded. We have done both the early show and the late show, with and without the package. It just depends on the crowds that night. We are using the package in September because we are gonig the EMH's evening so we know it will be a little busier.

As for an adult standing in line and then being rejoined by the kids, I will be honest and tell you that you will get a lot of looks--and not smiley faces. Although I understand with little kids, a lot of people won't (it got nasty last year in line when someone came in with a stroller to catch up to their party).

Do what you are most comfortable with. As far as we are concerned, there is not a bad seat in the house.

This is my idea that we are following on our trip June 1-June 7. We have ressie's for June 6 Fantasmic Package with H&V; however, I'm not wild about the price for a buffet (we are not DDP). We are going to 50's Prime Time with a 6:20pm ADR on Mon June 2, hoping to get a decent seat at Fantasmic. If it works, we will then cancel the June 6 ressie before the 48 hr deadline.

Good luck!

Only 32 days!

If your young child is that picky.....you won't find anything at MM that they will want to eat.
