At first I was thinking "Apple"?! What was this woman thinking?! But then I remembered by Mom's best friend named her daughter Dorcus I would much rather be an Apple than a Dorcus!!!!!

When I was kid, it used to be that mostly the African-American kids had names that were unique. I had an AA classmate named Peaches.

Seems like the Caucasians are catching up!

Its going to seem silly when she gets mad at the kid: "APPLE, I said get over here NOW!!!!"

Maybe she was conceived in an apple orchard or something!

Before I got married to DH, I worked in dept store at a mall near my mom's house. My mgr (who was AA) had two kids...a DS named Cash Money and a DD named Dollar.

I thought THOSE names were wierd until I heard this...Apple? Oh good grief!
Why not just name your kid Banana and get it over with? At least the word banana sounds cute when spoken by someone with an English accent (Bah-Nah-Naaaah!)

TOV, That is hilarious! My nickname is Cash Money Caroline, but for a real name?!?!?!?! It's almost as good as my naming my child Bling Bling!!!!

That's my name!

As a Noelle, I can tell you as a child I hated it, mainly because around Christmastime, everyone would sing "the First Noel" to me. I also got sick of the "Were you born on christmas?" question (I wasn't, not even close.) But as I got older, I began to like it better, since it is a liittle different but it is not weird.

Now I'm glad my parents went with it and not their alternate choice, Gabrielle. Not that that name is too bad, but...not for me!

I know a girl at work who's name is Apple she is Filapino and her name was spelled wrong on the birth certificate so they just decided to keep it
