Gypsy Update

I recently purchased the new CM Traveler cartridge and tried to link it with my Gypsy but needed to update my Gypsy first. Ok, I couldn't believe how long it took. Has anyone else encountered this?

Oh no, I hadn't thought about that! If I update my gypsy will I need to update my expression as well? If so I won't be able to use SCAL BTW how much do you love the traveler cartridge? I'm ordering one this week

I haven't updated my Gypsy in a few months, but the last time I did, it took forever to update. I kept thinking it was locked up or something, but it eventually finished.

I tried to do the update but it took so long that DH ended up disconnecting it. I'm going to try again tomorrow. Cheryl, it shouldn't update your E at the same time.

Im guessing it depends on what needs to be updated.

I update about every 2 months and it's usually pretty quick. That usually about 5 or so carts a month.

If you haven't updated in a couple months and 20 carts came out within that time then it would take longer then if you uploaded every other month but I could be wrong LOL.

Lisa, you need to update the Gypsy to get the new carts loaded on it as well as any other updates they may have done to the Gypsy software, but they don't seem to do that very often. Mainly it's for the new carts.

I've found that if I do my updates early in the morning (like around 6 a.m.) when I first get up, it takes less time than later in the day. I guess the system isn't as busy then?

Mine is *still* going...Turn it off, turn it on, etc., etc. It's going to take all day at this rate!

they add more carts to your gypsy? for free? do they let you know which carts they are???

No, they aren't usable carts, just the images that are on them. You can't cut with them unless they are "linked" to the G, but you can view what is on them.

Beware that updating can be a huge enabler...you see all the images for the new carts and you *have to* have them!

I try to be good....did just by the luau one for our upcoming HI cruise and everyday paper dolls recently....haven't really liked any of the new ones I've been seeing lately so that helps!

I agree that the recent ones have been uninspired, though I might get the new Autumn one. It looks pretty cute and I am a sucker for fall.

You will love everyday paper dolls! I use it all the time just for the accessories!

I used the graduation, swimmingbeach kids, baby body and the little monkey for Rachal's baby book so far!
