GV @ HH @ 7 mos. window??

Hi all-
Can anyone tell me what they think the chances of getting a GV at Hilton Head at the 7 month window are- We are looking to go next April 05 for 6 nights- there will be 9 of us- 4 adults, 5 kids but point wise its pretty close to getting a 2BR and studio- and the grand villa just looks so................ grand!
It wouldn't be a holiday week or anything, just the last week of April. Any thoughts? Should I book the 2 BR and studio and then go for the waitlist?
I love planning!

I went on the waitlist for June 6, five nights back in August and just got it off the waitlist last week. I think there are only six GV at HHI. I would suggest you trade your points for some HHI points or rent some via transfer.

HH has 5 GV's...........you won't know until you call but I think you have a decent chance for the last week of April.

Jackie, I think you'll have a "better" chance for the last week of April, than the previous poster had for late June. From what I've been told, the DHHIR is usually sold out for the month of April, because of spring breaks, but is less crowded in May. Since you're borderline, it may not be as difficult as the June/July/August period.

You never know until you try. You CAN call MS between the 11-month and 7-month to check availablity. But, definitely, if you can't get the GV, reserve the 2BR and studio, but get on the wait list for the GV. You never know when someone may cancel.

I've always wanted to stay in a GV at HH. I just can't justify the points unless I've got more than my immediate family there. With DD in college, we're barely filling up a 2BR unless DS brings a friend!

Thanks for your helpful advice. Our school calendar for next year is kind of screwy, we do not get the full Easter break (March 27 is Easter in 2005) only Good Friday and Monday after Easter off, and then they've given us the last week in April off for Spring Break (this seems to be a Northeast school thing). I don't know if this will help us or hurt us but I am determined to give it a shot.

We just returned from HH and we are planning next years' visit with my sister and family who are also DVC Members. We will combine points and go for the GV, if it doesn't work out we will try for the 2BR and another 1 BR or Studio.

Send us some pixie dust and I'll let you know how we make out.
