Please put down the toilet seat at work especially if you work with women. Why you ask? Some guy at my office neglected to do so. I go to the bathroom to do my business and of course I fall in. Do you now how hard it is to get out of the bowl?

When I worked construction, the ladies came up with a clever sign. It was a cat sitting on the toilet with a big "X" through the cat. The caption read "Gentlemen, No wet ~ahem~ 'kitty' allowed, put the lid down!"

Always got our attention...worked like a charm.

Ok first it's easier to lower a seat then to raise it.

Then by asking us to leave it down knowing how lazy we are as my wife tells me. You are just asking for us to just pee right on the seat to begin with.

So we will leave it in the up-right position that gives you a better chance to lower it clean then to put it down and a chance you will be getting a bit wet anyhow.

I always look to see if the seat is down in public, because I have to cover it (there is no way I am putting my butt on a seat without protection).

I believe Ann Landers once wrote that you should leave the seat in whichever position is proper for the next likely user. So it could be up or down.I also wondered how you wouldn't notice it being up in a well-lit washroom???

The bathroom is not a public one. It is in my office with about three other people using it that I work with. It is a little hole in the wall with a toilet and sink. It is not a big public one with stalls and anyone can use it.
