Alright, another adr question. Such a bother, I know.
We're going to be doing the free dining, with 7 nights. The first night we're getting in at about 5:30, so I'm thinking we might make spectro (8) and wishes (10) that night. We won't use our sit down credit that night, so there'll be an extra for the week. Anyway, what I need help with is this: On our day we're at AK, where should I make an adr for a sit down meal for the evening? What's closest, easiest to get to? Or, since AK closes at 5, should I make ressies at another resort or DTD for a couple hours later? Then, the day we hit the water park, same question. We're going to Blizzard Beach.
I've never had to make adrs before, and I'm so stoked for this!!
Thanks in advance!

We always like to do Boma on our AK day. It is a short bus ride away. For the BB day, you may want to think of burning that extra sit-down credit at a signature restaurant in a resort like Narcoosee's at GF or Yachtsman steakhouse at BC or California Grill at Contemporary.

As always, it depends on what kind of food you and your family like, how many are in your group, how old the kids are...

In AK, you could try Yak and Yeti, which is a sit down, Asian-fusion kind of place. If you like Indian/African style food, you could try the new buffet at Tusker House -- we're going there for lunch on my birthday :goodvibes We loved the buffet at Boma last year, but wanted something in AK park without having to leave, and lots of people have been comparing the offerings at TH to Boma, except the menu looks like it has some more Indian flavors -- chutneys, sambals, samosas, curry chicken -- along with more "American" choices like rotisserie chicken, carved top sirloin and pork loin, mashed potatoes, fruit, Caesar salad, etc. I'm really looking forward to it! There is also a Rainforest Cafe at AK, but it's not on the DDP, so if you want to use the plan, that's not the place to go.

Or you could use a CS credit at the Yak and Yeti CS or at Flame Tree BBQ, if you want to bank your TS credit for that day.

If Blizzard Beach is on a totally different day, you might consider Boma (1 TS) or Jiko (2 TS), both at the AKL. We loved Boma (though not everyone does) and we haven't been to Jiko, but it's supposed to be amazing. Are you going to any of the parks on your BB day? If not, you might look at some of the places in DTD -- like Wolfgang Puck's, or Raglan Road (which we loved, especially later in the evening when the music really gets going :goodvibes )

I completely agree on Boma; it's my favorite restaurant at Disney. As for the extra meal, remember that it's one for each night of your stay, so if you need to eat on the day you leave, that will take care of that meal.

If you do Boma, consider extra time before and/or after to wander the resort. In the evenings they usually have a night-vision area to look at, well, sometimes nothing much (but you never know). If nothing else, it's interesting to chat up the attending CM.

I definitely agree! :thumbsup2

We are planning on Cape May on AK day. We want to visit the Boardwalk and thought the shorter AK day would be the perfect day for that.
