Guns at Logan airport

Holy Moses. I cancelled my trip and rebooked it all then last night on the news I saw Boston (were I am flying out of) is going to be carrying guns. This is the first airports in the country that is going to be doing this and it is starting next month (when i am going). Now I know this is for our saftey but it is also a reminder that this is reality and terrorist could atack us again at any one given moment. Geeees, I am nervous about paying my hotel and car, ARGH, 46 and life isn't all that enjoyable with all that has been going on.

We were there shortly after 911 and it was very strange to see uniforms patrolling the ariport with guns. I hate to fly as it is and seeing that nearly did me in!

I guess the best thing to think is that it's done for our safety.

I also fly out of Logan. I flew out of Logan in 10/01 and it was a little different. I figure that if it is my time to go, then there is nothing I can do about it. Just go and try to relax. I love people watching so while I am there, I usually watch everyone very closely. Some are very funny/stupid.

For instance. While I was coming home from Disney in June 2002, my daughter and I are at the airport and they had to search all bags because the xray machine was broken. One family was extremely upset with the security people for taking their son's toy gun away from them. Well, um, dur! What are you bringing that with you for??? Have you not been aware of what had happened??

I just had to laugh.

I've seen Patrols in Orlando, Chicago Midway and Las Vegas with M16s, its been going on since 9-11 at most airposts.

I fly out of Logan all the time or Providence. I do not mind it...it has been like that in EUrope and over seas for years. I actually feel more comfortable knowing there is more security, especially at Logan of all places. Maybe they are actually going to be improving instead of being a joke. I fly out of Logan in about three weeks and welcome the change...I feel safer.

then september....then December and again this March......there were either the national guards with big big honking guns or the local authorities with guns.......guns do not bother me as long as its the good guys......I, in fact, say......guns are protection for us....and I am okey with them

I don't really like flying either, but I do believe God will call me home when He wants me there so I try not to worry about it. Go on your trip and have fun! Another funny airport security story. My hubby travelled a lot with his previous job setting up data centers. Sometimes they would have trouble and he would be stuck at a sight working for weeks. One time last summer, I can't remember if it was Phoenix or Salt Lake, he lived in a hotel for 3 weeks. He always saves all the little soaps and shampoos for the kids, and at the airport trying to go home his bags were opened for a thorough search. He must have had about 50 of those little toiletries in there! The security checker smiled and said "I see you have been staying in a hotel for a while" LOL We ended up giving our kids school nurse a whole bunch of those little lotion bottles to give to kids with dry hands, we had way more than we could use!!!
