Well. We were actually trying to find things to spend money on so decided to pay for the motel reservation on the drive down (Disney Visa rewards activation) and they had lost our reservation. It was non cancellable even though I had not paid for it yet so we were actually pretty excited about this.
Gonna have to face that we are not stop and rest on the way to Disneyland people. Lol. Decided to Drive straight through at night again and got a priceline hotel for $43 for Sunday night. We figure leave about 10pm St night, get in at 1pm, go eat at Hometown buffet on Katella (coupon+giftcard) and get settled in to the hotel. We can also get our lmt vouchers turned into tickets for easier entry the next day. Perused BFT and Better bidding and decided to go for the Anaheim Marriot Suites in the Garden Grove area and nailed it for $43. HOJO was sold out or we just would have added a day. This way we can have a good nights rest, get up early, check out of the hotel and drive to HOJO where we can park because we have reservations that day and go to the parks!
It'll be better too because our first days will be so busy there-- need to take advantage of the morning.

:thumbsup2 We are driving straight through too. I briefly contemplated stopping for the night but that would put us at arrival time of noon on 6/13 and that isn't especially appealing especially with the WoC madness, grad nights, and 2 non-blcok out AP dates. Your plan mimics ours except we are leaving at 5 am from SLC and should arrive about 3 pm that same day- check into either the HoJo or Anaheim Marriot Suites, do dinner, shop, swim, chill. :hippie: Our plans is to get up at the crack butt of dawn and head over to the GCV to check in. I'd love to make MM that day but we'd have to be in line at 6:30 am.

I think we Guinea Pigs have no other choice but to be crazy.

I'm very excited to read the first GP reports!!

We are 8 hours away but I could never drive through at night. I just don't function well without sleep. We leave first thing in the morning, arrive in the afternoon and just call it a bonus half day at the park. ;)

Another GP making the long drive to DL. We leave tomorrow morning (tonight?) about 04:00 I think. It should be about a 7 hour drive for us.

DD7 has NO IDEA we are going. She is at GirlScout camp today.

I can't wait to hear back either!! I know I won't be seeing WOC any time soon... So i'm living through you all... ;)

Enjoy :thumbsup2

My sis and I took our 3 kids down a couple of years ago. We drove straight through from Portland. Long drive but we took turns driving. Plus we were so excited to be on our way. :woohoo: It worked out great. We left a 5am and stopped a lot so we got in pretty late.
The kids were in the back of my Tahoe watching movies and napping. When we got there they all said "That wasn't so bad." Whatever:rolleyes:
It's the ride home that seems so long:sad2:

We will be making the 10 hour drive down on Tuesday. See you all there! :thumbsup2:wave2:

Flyin for this cowgirl...one day I will make the 22 hour drive.....WOC here we come!!:cool1:

Yeah, especially the Siskiyous at night.:scared1:

Last year we stopped on the way back but this year we just don't have the time. DH wants to be recovered for work fully. Sissy...
I am really happy with our decision. We'll be able to go to the store, dt Disney. I'll just drink lots of coffee and probably have a good nap sunday and sleep good that night. It is Fathers day too lol-- so we'll let husband make all the decisions that day. The rest of it's mine lol.
Ans I agree with the others-- I'd like to hear how the surprise goes also :yay:
