My guide called me today about some promotion they are having - something about if you purchase 130 points or more you get 2 AP's & then $1,300 credit or something. I wasn't listening all that much (can you believe it) because I know where not in a position to buy additional points right now.

She said that mailers went out but about 80% of the people she has talked to didn't get one. We didn't get ours.

Anyone have any info on this? Now I'm curious as to what it exactly is?

Thanks in advance! :D

They are points at SSR. Buy 130+, and you get a price of $85 each (after the discount mentioned), 49 year contract (2005 to 2054), and two free adult AP vouchers.

Sometimes DVC offers to those who own a chance to buy points and they credit you additional points or a reduction or credit to encourage you to buy additional points. I do not want to make this more complicated then it seems but I was going to buy 50 more points. After I purchased 130 additionally they offered me if I bought 70 more I would receive credit of 70 points as a one time offer. THus I paid for 70 and I received 70 points to use for free. I have 270 in total. When I bought 170 originally, they game me $1700.00 off the price when I paid for the entire thing upfront. Hope this helps.

Thanks - those answers make it more clear. :D

For the $10 discount you do not get points until 2005 (phase II). If they have any phase I points left (2004), you can get a $5 discount.

I've been trying to talk my husband into adding on. I got the letter in Sept. and I was thinking the presale offer was pretty good along with the complimentary annual passes. We would choose the extra points over the discount. Well, today I started thinking about it, and unless I'm reading it wrong, there isn't really a difference between buying Phase I versus Phase II presale. If we buy 130 points, we would get 130 points now with either option. Are Phase I points less with the $5 discount? If the price per point is the same for Phases I and II, then my thinking is that we'd be better off buying Phase I, getting a $5 discount, receiving our points right away and being able to use our points at SSR. Am I right about this, or am I missing something?

If you buy 130+ in Phase I you get 2004 points plus the APs and pay a net of $90 each.

If you buy 130+ in Phase II you do NOT get 2004 points, you DO get the APs and you pay a net of $85 per point.

We just added on 130 pts. for phase ll for Feb. use year. Our guide said that this is a funny use year.

We decided on phase ll, we can not use our pts. till Feb. 2006, and can not borrow ahead of then. We due not pay dues until Feb.2006. Our payments begin in June 2005.

If we did the other option we would get an additional 130 pts.(2004) pts., no 2005 pts. but could borrow the 2006 pts. this Feb. But, we would have to pay about $200 dues this Nov., about $500 next(2005) Feb., and our payments would begin in Jan. 2005. The total more that we would be paying would be approx. $1,400 total for the 130 pts. for one time use. This is why we opted for the phase ll.

We did not need these extra pts. this year as I can borrow from my other contract till we get the additional 130 pts. in Feb. 2006

Sorry if this sounds confusing. It took a few times going over w/ my guide to get this straight. he said this is a confusing use year for some reason. Still, it worked for us and we can't wait to begin using our to AP's!!:teeth:
