Guest response to FP+ has been "overwhelmingly positive"

now that they allow more passes after you use your pre booked ones, its fantastic. we were able to get splash and space mtn FP last night around 7 for only 45 minutes later. we went through 8 passes. the kiosks are placed in good locations and waits were not long.

Glad to hear that you were able to get passes for good rides that late. That is encouraging.

I am one of the people that FP+ will benefit. I am traveling with my two young sons. We cannot split up and send a runner all over the park to collect fastpasses. And it is hard to go collect them together as a group because it is really time consuming and is a lot of extra walking for little legs. It is great to know that we can get to the park when we want and be guaranteed to ride at least 3 things that would ordinarily have long lines.

I can see how people that were accustomed to maximizing the old system won't like the new system, but for the average guest (maybe someone like me), it will work out great.

FP+ last August - absolute nightmare. Ruined a whole trip (MB snafus, too..)
FP+ this part March - marginally better. Still absolutely detest the having to pre-plan everything of them. At least a good chunk of the kinks had been worked out from when we had been there in August..

Still think it was a waste of money on WDW's part...so I do not consider it a success..

They should do a survey today, online and at the parks, and see how everyone is feeling about FP+.

I posted this earlier: (I'm just speaking to today's problems)

Not picking on you in particular, just this common thread;) , among the threads.

System crashes happen to lots of websites when there is a new release or big events.

Honestly, do people really think this is an oddity?

Don't ever play video games online if a new game/update is released!! Or watch HBO to go when the new Games of Thrones is available!

Of course today everyone will dislike the system. :)

Think about that post (along with any others you have made).

:teacher:

its ok, i love disney and I dont treat my disney vacation as a chore. plus really never used the fast pass system but once or twice per park.

FP+ is like taking a piece of candy from a baby, but instead of giving in and returning it when the baby cries and whines, they act as a responsible adult and stand their ground

Ummmm, OK.

Good?:confused3

I have no doubts that people surveyed have said they like it. That's entirely possible. My point is, Staggs knows very well (and says so in the article) that most people weren't using Fastpass before, so they have nothing to compare it to. If you ask the guest who was using it before, the responses are not going to be "overwhelmingly positive".

If it was going so swimmingly, why have they already made 2 major changes to the system "per guest request"?

What were they going to do with all of the leftover FPs were it not for guest complaints?

Actually

1. The boards represent a small number of the guests to WDW.

2. Yes a very vocal but limited number of dis'ers( and other boards, but dis seems to be the most anti FP+) don't like FP+.

3. It has to be pointed out that many of the folks that ar anti FP+ are those that had a system set up to maximize the use of FP- and the change has hurt their planning style and reduced the number of FP they can use. I understandable reaction .

4. Since this article in the Orlando Sential a VERY ANTI WW newspaper, it would lead you to wonder why, if it was not true, they would print a positive WDW article. They would not indeed print such a article.

The bottom line it that outside the *small* world of the boards, there is a very big positive reaction to FP+ and MDE.

I will give you my view of FP+ in the fall , our next trip.

While nobody was looking, opinions on this board have swung more positively.

There's enough negative feedback, that some CM's get quite defensive, others encourage guests to make a complaint. I seriously doubt, most guests love it. There are way too many issues with MDE.

FP+ is pretty much the old system, with the added benefit of booking your first three in advance now. This is largely why I don't understand the complaining. You can still walk up to a kiosk (ANY kiosk) and get a FP for a ride, even showing up day-of. But new and/or popular rides will be gone quickly, just as always.

I would expect that there will be plenty of Fastpasses left for rides after you use your first three, depending on the ride. TSMM will be a tough get, but it was before, too.

Absolutely right.

From a guest perspective, it will result in about the same experience:

Those who didn't use it before will probably like it
Those that used it sparingly will probably continue to
Those that worked it to the max will still be able to milk more out of it

The big difference is what it means for Disney and its logistics. It won't even require a majority to accept Disney's first suggested plan for there to be an increase in efficiency in crowd management.

Issues? With MDE? I thought that was all better. ;)

I believe you are right and many people who were afraid to speak in favor of MDE and FP+ because they would get ganged up on are now speaking out more.:thumbsup2

AKK

I never had an issue with MDE. It doesn't work much of the time, but the idea is OK. FP+, in theory, has gotten MUCH better. In practice, I'll have to wait and see in July.

So is it your contention that MDE works great every other day of the year?

I am wondering what issues now, like in the last month??

Yes months ago there as big problems, but now I see post after post saying it worked perfectly.

# families we know just got back in the last 6weeks and loved the new system.

The only issue (it is not even a glitch or a problem) I have seen posted lately was something about changing the system so 2 families in one room could separate accounts.

I haven't been able to make any ADR's all week. Had to call Disney directly.

Personally, I think it's just because Mickey Mouse has some personal beef with me. Ever since he and Minnie started opening and closing their eyes, he's paranoid that Minnie is winking at me.

Wait a sec. You're telling me babies are supposed to pay thousands of dollars to their parents for the privilege of being their child?? How come nobody told me before the relationship between Disney and their guests is the same as a parent/child relationship? I could take another Disney trip with the back pay from my son ;).

LOL..............never mess with the mouse!

Yes I stand corrected, there has been a problem with ADRS this week.

However that seems to be more a short term issue, but a problem with the over all system. When you have computers their will always be short term glitch's.

I was referring to the set up of the overall system in general.
