This may have already been covered, but I went to make a reservation at the California Grill, and they asked me for a credit card because it is now a guaranteed reservation, meaning if we change or cancel within 24 hours, or just dont show up, they charge you $20 a person. I mean, I can understand because it's always so full there, but it makes me nervous about the reservation because it's the night that we arrive. Should be getting into town around 2 or 3 with the res at 7:30, but anything can happen when you're driving.

i also made ADR for boatwrights and alfredos the next night, but those are not guaranteed. so.. ?

I would not worry about it. Also, though Disney has their policies in place for a reason, I am sure that if something did happen and you called them on the road to explain, they would be very accommodating....especially if you reschedule for another night.

They know they will be able to fill the spot with those who call during the last few hours hoping for a cancellation.

Agree. Just have the # of the Contemporary resort handy and call if there is a problem. I can't imagine that they wouldn't be accomodating..

Good advice. Just keep in mind that, although Disney almost always is very accommodating with regard to things like this, it's not guaranteed, and under certain circumstances they may enforce their policy more stringently.
