GRRRR!!! Post your angry vents here!

1. last time I talked to my aunt - the Mother of the Bride, she suggested I look into a tummy tuck so I would feel better about myself.
WHAT?!?!?!?! Please tell me you a kidding!

I never use this kind of language, but it would be so tempting to tell your aunt to f-off. Sorry. I think when people lose a lot of weight, leave them the heck alone. If you wanted opinions on your "loose skin" you would ask for them.

I'm screaming for you! :furious:

I still have no brownies. I ate waffles instead. Not the same thing.

Did you drizzle the brownies with chocolate syrup? Still not a brownie, but closer...

Some of you have better reasons to be angry than I do.

My deal is that someone else made a commitment for me, without asking me first, that I would have said NO to if they had asked to begin with. But I went ahead and honored that commitment just to get it over with, even though I was furious the entire time. Now it sounds like the term of the commitment may be more than what was originally disclosed to me, but because I got mad in the first place now there is NO dialog about what will be happening from here forward. Apparently it is just going to be tossed in my lap with no prior warning. It is being implied that by showing resistance to honoring this commitment that I am now unfit to perform my job. Nice.

A friend of mine was telling me about a similar thing that happened to her. She was expected to do something TOTALLY outside the realm of her job. When she tried to protest she was basically told that as long as she was on the clock she had to do whatever they told her to do. She replied "I am not a prostitute." I love that!

There is some little piece of writing about the difference between winners and losers. According to that, a loser says "That's not my job." and a winner says "What can I do to help?" Well, I'm a loser. At some point you have to take a stand.

I hope everybody has a good day today! (Including me!) :)

Two vending machines side by side.

A coke is $1.25

why make the candy in the vending machine next to it $0.85?

Wouldn't they make more money with candy bars at $0.75? :furious:
(use the change you just got from the coke machine)

I had two dollars. Enough for a coke and nothing else.

Ahrrrrrrrrrr!

Here's my vent: :furious:
DH and I want to move. We know where we want to move and we're ready to move now. We've been discussing this and researching it for months! Well, I had to have surgery back in May, then I had a very hard recovery time but by week 6 I was feeling better...right as rain. Meanwhile all of that time during recovery I was on pins and needles because I was really, seriously ready to get started on getting this house in order for sale but couldn't!! Finally week 6 and I'm feeling great and I decide that I can finally start packing up the house. Well, I ended up lifting something that was too heavy and then I couldn't do anything for a week because of it!! Then, I had company ALL last week and couldn't do a blessed thing regarding preparing the house/moving and now all day yesterday and today I've been down with horrible stomach problems. Tomorrow, I've got appts. all day so I'll have no time to do anything. So now it looks like it won't be until Thursday when I can finally get going in here!!!

I swear, if it's not one thing it is another!! That's honestly how I'm feeling!

And another thing! I really hate the insurance companies. I hate how they talk at you and even get discourteous when you don't "get" what they're trying to say. Now I realize that they work in this business day in and day out and that they are very familiar with it. I however am NOT! I am not a stupid person, I am just ignorant of the insurance business and while I am paying you people my premiums the least you can do is talk to me respectfully and with patience. I can get it, just don't rattle it off so fast that I'm can't understand you and then get mad when I ask you a question.

Wow, this is a great thread. Feels good to unload that. :thumbsup2

Yep, totally get the "if it's not one thing it's another" scenario.

We are SIXTEEN days from our trip and it seems like every couple of days something will happen, and each thing is worse than the one before! None of it related to the trip, either! Although DH (who never remembers anything he dreams) had a dream about a huge room full of suitcases. Great. Would that be the "lost luggage" room at MCO, perhaps?

I keep wanting to think that the worst MUST be over by now, but no, more bad things keep coming! :furious: One of the bad things isn't even over - it is ballooning out of control into a really enormous issue that I'm not sure can be resolved amicably.

It sucks to feel like I have no control over things, either. :sad2:

Me too!

Thursday night was the bad experience I told about at the opening ceremony.

Friday morning the toilet ran over in the hotel room (and went everywhere).

Friday afternoon I (just me and DD) had a blow out on the interstate driving 70mph pulling a horse trailer fully loaded with 3 horses, tack, etc.

Saturday, DH was mowing the yard, and the lawn mower threw a rock completely shattering the glass in my car door.

Monday morning I hurt myself completely tearing the skin off most of the front of my knee.

I've had to go to work seven days this month (so far), and I'm not even on the payroll during July (just one of the perks of being "in charge" of things).

We leave this weekend for Destin. Our friends are watching the weather for hurricanes, because they think one must be coming due to my run of luck.

OMG! this afternoon i was off to get a pedicure and i was behind this woman for about 20 minutes who kept swerving in the oncoming lane-- i am thinking "what is up with this dip s#@! ?" we have nicknamed this road we are on "snake road" (ok- can you see all the curves?) well i fianlly realize what she is doing--- she keeps putting down her vanity mirror and PLAYING WITH HER HAIR! hello!?????

your hair is not going to look too great while you are lying on the side of the road after you cause an accident!!!

we came to a stop sign and i was yelling at her hoping she would look at me in her rearview mirror- but no, of course not. someone like that is totally oblivious to the people around them!

CRAZINESS i tell ya! :sad2:

Even though I keep pressing the buttons...the elevator never arrives any faster

you STOP IT! :yay:

you are NOT one of those people, please tell me, you are not one of THOSE people! :rotfl2:

I am venting because I hate it when people fail to plan/procrastinate and then their failure suddenly becomes MY emergency!!! :furious:

Well, I'm just taking my good ole time with the situation because I'm technically off work until August 21. Guess I'll just rack up some comp time and take a couple extra days off for my Christmas Disney trip! :woohoo:

JackSkellingtonsGirl - I'll have to watch for you at WDW! We leave in 19 days!!! :dance3:

Ok , does anyone else get annoyed by this on the news?

Whenever they do a story about heavier or overweight Americans they ALWAYS show what I have called the 'big butt cam'. Where it is of a larger person being videotaped in an unflattering below the waist shot. l:rolleyes: Being a Pooh shaped gal I take offense to this. :rotfl:

We ALL know what us fat ppl look like!! Do we REALLY need a close up of some lady in skin tight capris??! :confused3 Sometimes I half expect my butt to be featured walking into a Godivas on Channel 4 with the overspeak of "Alot of doctors blame overweightness on sweets and chocolate. " :rolleyes1

:headache: Bad day at work with people calling and wanting to euthanize stray cats that do not belong to them! Had to tell her we could not do it for legal reasons...if you don't own them, we can't touch them.

15 minutes later someone else calls with same request, only for 2 cats, not 10.
Then another winner...I have a 2 1/2 week old cat I want spayed...we don't do that till 6 months...how much is it? $83.00/ What?! I can do it myself for $20. Ummm yeah...jerk....kiss my ***!

Then my DS 12 decides to tear apart this cool Lego bar/table my DS9 built only 1 hour ago. DS12-sees nothing wrong with this and my DH won't help explain why he should not have touched the Lego without asking little brother.

AAAHHH!!!

OMG!! This is EXACTLY why I am in the situation I am in this week! Something that has NOTHING to do with me has magically become MY problem! And the person who owns the problem appears to be doing nothing to fix it! Hello? This is NOT something that can be re-assessed on a day by day basis!

We'll be at the parks Aug. 4-11. Happy Anniversary!! :) I'm hoping to accumulate some comp time for our December Disney trip, too. Unfortunately, now I don't feel much like working.

Hmmm... are we long lost twins or something? Too weird that we are in a similar work situation and both have August and December WDW trips planned! :rotfl:

Just noticed the Doobie Brothers song lyric in your sig too. We are going to see them August 3rd at our local Ribs Burn-Off!!

We'll have to watch for you in the parks! We'll be there 8/6-8/12 and then again 12/23-1/1/07! :yay:

Enjoy the concert! We fly out on Aug. 3. Theoretically. No telling what will happen between now and then! Last trip my boss FORGOT I was leaving and got REALLY irate when I reminded her, the cat started projectile vomiting and had to go to the vet 2 hours before we went to the airport, and I had that nagging feeling that I had forgotten something really important because everything was so frenzied that morning. There is really no end to the disaster potential for this trip.

Our December trip has been dubbed "quick & cheap". DH said last year he wanted to see WDW at the holidays so we're going Dec. 2-6. I'm hoping to surprise DS, but I will probably say something about it to him before then.

My neighbor is wanting to euthanize a stray and her two kitties. She has a trap out for them now. My heart is broken. I'm trying desparately to find them a home. Please wish me luck.

Your situation sounds like my DH's at work. He's always stretched so thin and never gets rewarded. His manager is always volunteering him for various jobs because of his skills but the manager has no clue as to how much time it would take to do these jobs and dh has to put in a lot of overtime to get them completed (without pay). Whenever dh complains, the manager says to quit playing the victim and be proactive.

Your friend's comment about not being a prostitute is exactly what dh says he is but instead of that word he says he's just a wh*re in the grand scheme of things. Very sad.

I want a job where I get to tell people that they have to do things they wouldn't agree to do if they had a choice. Then I want to argue with them that they are being unreasonable and they have to do what I say no matter what their job description says. And if I owe a favor to someone I want my employee to owe those same favors to people on my behalf, and not expect advance notice or adequate compensation for granting those favors. Being the pimp would be so much better than being the prostitute, but I suppose there is very little chance of that. :sad2:

Probably the thing I am having the most trouble with this week is that this situation seems so blatantly clear cut that I am just boggled that there could POSSIBLY be more than one interpretation. I feel like I need to carry around an enormous sign that states the most ridiculously obvious facts, and make everyone I encounter sign a form stating they have read and understand these facts. This is along the same lines as coffee cups stating the contents are hot, or a blow dryer saying you shouldn't use it in the shower, or that plastic bags are not toys. There is no gray area here, so WHY is there such a BIG problem?

My vent has just become intriguing. Today at work, I received a call from office of the village manager. It seems that one of the neighbors had somebody drive across their lawn causing alot of damage. I was asked more questions about when the noise that awakened us at 5am occurred, where it was and what it sounded like. Perhaps about now, the sheriff's office is wishing they hadn't fluffed off my complaint about a loud engine sound beneath my bedroom window at 5am.
