Grrr....I see what you did there, Disney

I wonder if they are escorting people out that have problems understanding English.

That is probable. That 'I cannot speak English' stuff happens a lot. I can see Disney trying to put an end to that as much as possible.

One year at MVMCP, 2012 I think, a CM was telling a person who 'could not speak English' that they could not go into Space Ranger Spin without a wristband. He proceeded to say over and over that he could not speak English in Spanish. I speak a little Italian, so I could understand them. She got tired of it and let him and his family in because she was holding up the line for them. They could suddenly joke in English while in the line and their English was very good.

Perhaps Disney is standing their ground where they can. However, I stand firm in saying that it is taken advantage of and for the most part Disney is not forceful about making those without tickets leave the park. One or two situations where somebody witnesses a true escort does not mean the abuse is resolved or under control. It just means if a CM has enough "huevos" they will say something and get aggressive if necessary.

I agree but they like the money too much to go back to closing the park and reopening. But they have lost me ever buying a hard ticket again. It is just too crazy and there were too many non-bracelets at the first parade the last time we went to MNSSHP and the firework congestion was unbearable to the point that I was nervous for people's safety.

Sad, isn't it, that more native Spanish speakers don't work at WDW. Maybe the pay is too low...

I miss the days where they actually closed the park down and then reopened. It just seems way too crowded at the parties lately and like OP said, too close together. So the rare days that don't have the parties, MK is packed and then on party days, Epcot and DHS are packed. We just have such better memories from parties 8 years ago than recently.

Getting 25,000+ guests into the park at party start time wasn't working. I figured it out once pre-MB. It would have taken over an hour. The current hard ticket entrance procedure was likely in response to complaints about paying for,but not getting, five hours of party.

Packed parks are relative, and perhaps subject to perception. They're definitely a sign of success.

Well let's all put on our shocked face about the inconsistencies with/at Disney. :rolleyes1

But it appears most party-goers see clear indications of unauthorized persons NOT being allowed to stay to participate in any aspect of the parties.

Honestly, I don't believe the crowds we experienced at MNSSHP last year was due to the number of people who stayed that weren't ticket holders. There couldn't have possibly been enough to explain that crowd. We went to one years ago and it was great- this one was jam packed to the point you just couldn't accomplish much of anything. Ride lines weren't bad, but we didn't go to ride things we could do during the day. We won't do another one, but it's because I think they oversell them now and it's just not worth it to us.

I know a lot of people love them and have a great time. They're just not for us anymore.

The party goers could go in from 4-7pm. It worked completely well. It wasn't a mass entrance at 7pm. They closed the park at 5-6pm and allowed party goers in one land or at restaurants eating while they got everyone else out. It also allowed the park to set up better. There seemed to be more decorations, character greetings, music, candy spots back then. I think the only reason they changed it was for money. That one hour layover cost them thousands and even though people complain, they still sell the same amount of hard tickets. So why change back?

What gives you the idea they still the same amount of tickets? They say it's "limited", but they have never said at what level.

I think part of the reason they changed was to be able to accommodate the growing number of tickets they were selling.

Maybe they changed it because people with day tickets were complaining about getting kicked out at 5.

5pm versus 7 pm makes a huge difference IMO.
