I am not sure if this one was a National deal or not but it was for the Milford Spice Company for $30 worth of spices for $15. It was a side deal. I bought Greek seasoning, mole' seasoning, taco seasoning, and herbs de Provance. They come in these neat tins too.

I just bought it. I think it's a local deal but because it's redeemable online I'd say anyone can get it. I'm going to get the baker's mix.

As a consumer, I love Groupon. I have purchased and used over 12 vouchers from Groupon. I have redeemed the vouchers without issue at all but one merchant. That merchant is Milford Spice.
I have been waiting 4 weeks for my order, and the company has not responded to any one of my emails and phone calls.
As I look on Facebook and other sites, I find that I am not alone.
It appears to be the norm versus the exception.
The common thread with most posts regarding issues with Milford Spice are redundant. NO RESPONSE and DELAYS IN SHIPPING.
Most seem to acknowledge the prices are higher than normal and those who respond positively, say the spices are good.
I am waiting to confirm for myself, but I am a believer the quality of the service will live longer on the mind than the quality of the product.
Milford Spice needs to grow up and take responsibility for there commitments.

Hi Chefhomie, You are absolutely right that service is critical and needs to be a priority along with a great quality product. I am part of MSC and I can assure you we know this implicitly. Groupon exploded our online business, but we understand that we must perform to get repeat customers (the only advantage of offering product at a loss). As a result of this campaign, we have been able to expand our production space and hire three new people. We are working double time to try to be able to get our spices out quickly and really do care about taking care of our customers. Growing pains are a challenge and I am really sorry you may have been caught as we were learning. I would love to hear from you to be sure you have received and are enjoying your spices or, if not, what I can do to turn this in to a positive experience for you. Please contact me directly thru the contact us on the website (I cannot post my e-mail here or I would) Thank you

I also purchased a Groupon for Milford Spice. I placed my order on April 19th and paid for the additional amount with my cc. The payment was processed through my bank May 12. I have received nothing of any kind - not product, not emails, not a return phone call. I am more than frustrated with the whole thing and have exhausted all other means to contact them. Groupon claims to not have any other contact info for them other than what is listed on their website. If anyone has any luck or ideas, please let me know. Have a great weekend!

Well, welcome to the disboards anyway. Not sure why you felt the need to register and bump up an old thread. Your beef is with Milford and Groupon. Groupon has a way to flag a business on their website. Milford has a way to contact thru customer service. Your credit card company certainly has a way to file disputes in cases where a product or service was not provided. You certainly could have found any of those by doing a google search just as easily as you found this forum.

:mad:In March 2011, I purchased a Groupon for half off custom mixed spices hence $30 for $15. The Groupon was good for 6 months. I used the Groupon plus purchased additional spices for a total of $75.90 which I charged to my credit card on Sept 2. When several weeks went by, I was getting concerned so I emailed on Sept 15-no response. I then received an email (what appears to be a mass emailing to all the customers not getting their orders) which was dated September 14, (but I received it two days later after my own email) saying the store was overwhelmed with orders, they were hiring additional people and moving production to another store front. This email stated the problems, said we could get our money back or we could wait and get what we ordered. We were promised we would not be disappointed (email is available from me upon request). I emailed back, said I wanted the spices and gave until the end of September 2011 to get them or at the very least to keep me abreast of any problems, delays etc. I got nothing. I then emailed back Oct 10 with a read receipt which I got, but no response to my concerns. Not one peep. Since my daughter had also purchased a
Groupon and additional spices, I commiserated with her on the problem and have decided to escalate this as I promised the owner of Milford Spice (Laura) that I would. I am contacting Groupon, my credit card and the state of Michigan Attorney General and will put in a complaint with each. There are numerous complaints on the internet at this time relating to this Groupon and to Milford Spice Company. I believe a check in at Better Bushiness Bureau is in order, too. Very disappointed as I try to purchase local. I just don't understand fraud and this is what it is. I have found the complaints on the internet going back to early 2011 on this same issue and the same story coming from the store owner. Then and now, its just plain wrong to steal.

I did eventually get the items I ordered and they threw in a free bottle. I made repeated phone calls and left messages and finally got a response form someone who just kept saying they were overwhelmed. I will definitley NEVER order from this company again. It is not worth the hassle and I don't notice the spices are better than anything I can buy at the grocery store.

I also got my spices eventually. It took a couple of months but I did get them. For what I paid I'm happy with the product, but not over the moon. If I had to pay regular price I'd go to Penzey's.

I have been waiting since March 24th for my order. Nothing but excuses and empty promises. I have had emails directly from Laura. I have been told at least 3 times that my order would ship. Still no spices. I own a small business. If we treated our customers this way they would shop somewhere else. There are many other internet spice dealers who can provide the same quality with excellent service and delivery. If you don't get this, I predict your company will soon close. You say you are expanding your company to fulfill orders? How can you do that when you have also said that you are selling these spices at a loss? It doesn't make any sence at all. This is your second groupon deal. You knew you should have prepared. I suggest anyone who purchased the groupon should consider getting a refund back from groupon and complain.

I have lost track of how long i have been waiting. I got the same initial e-mail about how they were overwhelmed with Groupon sales but have hired additional people. That was at least a month ago. No word since and they do not respond when I hire them. I would never buy from them again. They may have increased their sales with Groupon but they definitely ruined their reputation.

I have never seen a thread with this many first time posters. Someone is going to a lot of trouble to bring attention to this company. Have fun.

BUYERS BEWARE---These 'buy by the bulk' herbs are not grown in a natural manner!!! The eco-friendly appearance of the website is only for the purposes of misleading unsuspecting individuals into believing they are buying a food product free of toxicity. First, Laura buys herbs by the bulk. Second, these bulk herbs are grown in a toxic manner with chemical and irradiation, and only after that are they processed naturally (exposed to toxic chemicals (pesticides & fertilizers) and are most likely irradiated). Laura can legally advertizing her herbs are natural as she only claims them to be free of preservatives… Any herb that has been irradiated requires no additional preservatives anyway.

Again, Laura buys herbs by the bulk grown in a toxic manner with chemical and irradiation, and only after that are they processed naturally! Therefore, you may have purchased these herbs believing they are a healthier option than supermarket bought… Not true. Laura has managed to create a perception that since she processes them in her home, the herbal products are natural (some thinking this means organic). However, the true aspect of being a "natural" herb is the process by which it is grown!

They keep coming. :confused3

Out of curiosity of why so many first time posters were posting complaints about Milford, I did a google search for Milford spice complaints....and guess what came up as the second listing! Yep. Disboards. So I'm guessing these folks keep hoping that posting here will help them get their orders....but sorry folks, this board is about Disney and although someone claiming to be from Milford posted on this thread apologizing/explaining the delay.....they haven't posted since, so you're better off going to their Facebook or website and complaining there.....at least you have a better chance of it actually being seen by someone who can do something!

Good luck. And to the OP...thank you for the posting....love to hear about the Groupon deals that can be used around the nation, and also thank you to the first to post a complaint....made me glad I was too late for this deal! But I've used Groupon a lot and know that they have much improved their service about refunds too....so if you really and truly aren't getting response from Milford, try going through Groupon to see if they can move your order along or cancel it and refund you. I was able to get a refund for a museum that shut down about 4 months after I bought the groupon but before I could use it....because the Groupon ad said the groupon was good for 6 months I was given a full refund without any hassle.

I was really sad to see all the problems people are having with this company. My feeling is they weren't prepared for such a huge turnout and got behind. That is no way an excuse for poor customer service. However, I know that has happened to some of the small companies here whom got bombarded by orders.

I got my order right away with this one. But Groupon has changed their refund policies a bit. They for sure will give you a refund on a place that has closed but other refunds are now on a case by case basis. There are times I wasn't able to get a refund. Also Groupon has this VIP program they were trying where you are charged a $30 fee and are able to get a refund on the items you buy no questions asked. The items they were offering weren't worth it to me so I let my trial expire. I would try to get a refund through Groupon. They keep record of customer service complaints.

That being said, I have purchased a few hundred Groupons and have only had a problem with redeeming 1. I have been able to refund a few. Now they have it so the face value of the Groupon never expires.

I wish all of you luck with this Groupon. If you are not happy with something there are other places to complain like the BBB. Our local TV station also has a place where you can file complaints.

I, too, have been waiting for spices from Milford Spice Company for WELL OVER 2 months now. I purchased a Groupon for $20 for $45 worth of spices and then spent an additional $10 with Milford Spice. I've e-mailed them to no avail. The spices were meant to be a Father's Day gift for my Dad. I'm hopeful I'll receive the spices but a company SHOULD NEVER SELL MORE GROUPONS THAN THEY CAN FULFILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BAD BUSINESS!!!!! :sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2:

Talk about a zombie thread. :rotfl: How many times has this thing come back from the dead now?

Ordered on April 4, 2012 and have not received order yet. No response to several phone calls trying every single extension option they have, no response to emails directly or through their website, complained with better business bureau who they summarily ignored as well and BBB basically said, that's it, sorry, case closed.
Despicable business practice that had the audacity to offer me a special on a second order when they haven't shipped the first one yet.
Not to mention I edited my order so that no spice on my order was listed as 'back ordered'. Despite exhausting every option except driving up there I have am left with my money, for all intent purposes, stolen and ignored by this sorry excuse of a company
