Group Dining vs Grand Gathering ?

Does anyone have experience making ADRs with either of these? I have heard some less than great reports about using the Grand Gathering to make ADRs. Would I be better off just calling Group dining myself? We will be a group of 10 adults 3 children from 4y-6y and 6 children from 2y to 8 months. Our dining plans are Storybook Princess breakfast, Crystal Palace breakfast, Cindy Gala Dinner and Donald's breakfastauras. I know we will have to split up but would like to be near each other.

When I called the GG # and asked about making ADRs for our group of 19 people and 7 rooms, they said they don't make ADRs for groups unless your group is booking 10 rooms or more.

They referred me to the Group Dining number instead (407-939-7707). I was always able to get through to GD within 2-3 minutes after 7 a.m. and got all of the reservations I wanted, even CRT, for my group.

We have a GG in Sept (9 of us in 3 rooms) and the GG dept made all of our dining ressies.
I have also used Group when my party was more than 13 people.
If you have a GG sch then I would go through GG dept, if not then Group should be able to help you out.

We were a GG and this is exactly what happened to me when making ADRs. We were a group of 15 with four rooms. GG was of no help to us as we didn't schedule any "special" events. We didn't even get the promised itinerary even though I gave the GG# at every ADR I made. Group Dining was great. We got CRT too!

Definately use group dining. I have called them MANY times for our group of 17 and they have been great. Even got CRT without a problem for a perfect time. Best of all, I have never gotten stuck on hold when calling them. My call is always answered right away. I am going to miss using group dining when it is just me and my crew.
