Does anyone have any experiences of this hotel recently. Some bad comments on Trip Advisor.

I'm not familiar with the hotel part but we used certificates from Restaurant.com for a beautiful dinner at Baskervilles in the Grosvenor resort last month and really enjoyed our meal. The food and especially our server were fantastic! Also the restaurant is very nice. Hope this can help you with the dining part! :D

We had a great experience there in January 2004 after hearing lots of negatives here and other places. Most of the negatives are from folks staying in the courtyard rooms by the pool that I noticed. We had a tower room with a view of the fireworks and DTD. Rooms are large, have fridges, are clean, and the shower pressure was fantastic! Having the little store/cafe at the front door made is easy to pick up breakfast on our way out to the bus. The bus schedules worked out great and even during off season, there were plenty of buses to any park any time of the day.

It's the closest hotel to DTD and Pleasure Island- we enjoyed being able to take a quick bus ride over there and a leisurely walk back to the hotel to burn some calories.

Thanks may give it a go in July. Would be good to be so close to DTD

it is fun to stay at the hotels/resorts in DTD, its great to walk to the shops and be able to go to PI and wander..... :Pinkbounc I did stay at the Marriott Courtyard in DTD but its now the Holiday Inn.....

We have stayed at both the Holiday Inn and the Grosvenor on Hotel Plaza Blvd. We liked the room at the Grosvenor much better (bigger, more amenities w/fridge incl) and we REALLY liked being able to walk to DD!

Did you stay in the tower? I have heard so many negative things about the hotel that although we'd enjoy the location, we've never stayed there because of the negative reports.

How much does the seafood buffet cost? Adult? Child? Will they take a restaurant.com certficate on Seafood night?

When we were there in February 2004 and September 2004, the regular price of the buffet was $19.99. If you have 50% off, it would be half of that. As far as I know, that is the price of the buffet each night.

Have stayed in the Grosvenor's basic room and tower room. The basic rooms, in the wings, are your motel rooms from the 70s, nothing fancy. The tower rooms are nicer with some good views. Grosvenor is very convenient to Downtown Disney, just across the street. My two stays there were pleasant, I had nothing to complain about. I think I paid around $70 for the wing room in off season and around $100 in the Christmas season for the tower room. Discounts can be found if you look around, I probably would not pay or stay there at the rates I see sometimes there for the high season, I think once I saw around $150.
