Grocery Stores near Ho Jo's (other than Vons)

Regarding Target in Garden Grove, unless it has been upgraded to a Super Target since I last visited being last year, it has not, so therefore is still a non-Super Target store, they do exist, however in other parts of So.Ca. and none are that terribly close to Anaheim, the way I am remembering the Target map.

On Harbor at corner of Katella Avenue there is a 7/11 and a Market.

Plus WDW vets use Staples office supple to delever water and snacks.

If your looking for a Walmart there is one at the Anaheim Plaza. Its literally a 5 Minute cab ride up the road. I went there and it didnt even cost me $10.00 cab fare. I dont have a map in front of me, but from Disneyland take a cab up the road, past Hojo's over the over pass, get onto the free way, go passed like 3 to 4 exits and your there.

oh wow well we are at hojos so up that rode isnt bad. we have it budgeted 10each way and ill type in walmart and see if its closer then albertsons ty

Yes, but even regular Targets usually carry some basic groceries, including cereal, snacks and water. I don't know about milk, though.

Huh, you might want to call the hotel about that. Albertson's left our delivery at the bell desk at GCH with no problem. We didn't have to sign for it. I've never heard of it being a problem for the hotel to take delivery for groceries, except possibly if there's alcohol in the delivery. Some hotels will even put it in your room for you before you get there. In fact, I need to call HoJo and find out if they'll do that for us.

Have you called HoJo's will they hold groceries delivered to the hotel?? I am thinking about using Albertson's to deliver water and diet coke, and some of those smuckers PB&J's and of course apple juice - all heavy things that I don't want to have to carry to a hotel room... And I hate going to the grocery store in real life why would I want to go to the store on Vacation?!?!

Cab ride in So. Ca. are rather expensive, you are charged initially just for getting into the cab, then are charged for every 1/4 a mile, and you are charged for waiting in traffic and at stop lights. GEESE! can we say cab companies need to be better regulated? I say yes! please.

Sounds like here. I believe the initial charge is close to $4.00 now then everything else is on top of that. I don't expect it to be too shocking for us when we go to Vons in November. I am figure if I oversteimate then I won't be too shocked, but rather, pleasently surprised that it wasn't as much as I had thought. (I hope)

Target in Garden Grove is very close to Howard Johnson's Hotel, it is not what I would consider within walking distance, however, I figure the cab ride should be of a more or less decent price r/t.
I know that target sells groceries, I love Target! I shop at all of the closest locations that I live near, and last year, I shopped at the Garden Grove location as well.

There are smart n finals in CA. You can look at the ads for the CA stores at the stores web sites. (Ralphs is owned by Kroger, just like Az Frys,) You can see what is on sale, and where you can get a better deal for your money. I don't know if their sale week is like Az (Wed-Tu), I think their's is Thur-Wed.
California has a deposit on their water bottles, soda bottles, cans,etc.
I hope you can get everything worked out so you can have a wonderful time!

Im checking out the Von's website...now taking with a grain of salt that not everything in the stores could be on the site. Im not happy with what Im seeing.

I know theres another grocery store close to DL I just cant remember the name...and are there anothers like WalMart?

There are two supermarkets on Ball Rd. For the nearest one:

Go north up Harbor to Ball rd and turn right into Ball Rd

About 400yards down Ball on your right is a supermarket (Its set off the road a little behind a Taco place.

Alternatively there is another one on the corner of Katella and Ball (turn left into Ball instead of Right) but its quite a way further. Both Supermarkets are spanish, lots of fresh fruit and vege and all the "staples".

down in so cal, Kroger is the store brand name for food 4 less...its cheaper than vons, albertsons, ralphs, and I do not shop at smart and final...they are way to expensive...I compared their prices to sams club/costco and some of the stuff was more expensive...im glad you saw the F4L ...you would have ended up spending way more than $20 for a cab ride...but i wasnt going to say anymore...just remember though jade...this is only your 2nd trip and we ALL want to help you save money and have a good time..we arent trying to make things harder on you but you cant go by what a cab company is going to tell you nor can you go by how many miles it is when you look online...your not factoring in all the stop lights, being on the fwy if necessary..and trust me there are alot of stops along the way just to 2 miles up the road...

smart n final is more excpincve i agree but its the store right next to us here and easy.
tho food 4 less is 3miles away not to bad at all. we are ready for the cab to be more then excpected just becosue the gas problems right now.
