Grocery store stops

I am not sure if this is the best thread to post these questions on, but I can't decide which would be better, so here goes.

1. We are using the FLTours van to get from the airport to the Dolphin. Can anyone make a suggestion about what is the most convenient store to stop at to pick up a few groceries? I am hoping to find one that is not extremely overpriced.

2. Our second week, we will be in our timeshare. Can anyone tell me what is the best grocery delivery company to use? How far in advance do I need to order, and can I pay ahead or only when they arrive?

Thanks everyone, it is getting close and so it is time to nail down all the unknowns! :cool1:

Since you will be staying at the Dolphin, you'll be fairly close to Highway 192 (a/k/a West Irlo Bronson Drive). There are a lot of little convenience stores and there is a nice Publix Grocery Store on Hwy. 192. Publix is located at Mile Marker 9. Can't miss the Mile Markers as they are HUGE purple signs. It will be on your left. The prices are pretty reasonable.

We always go there to stock up on milk, snacks, etc.

If I am remembering correctly, you can find a map of Hwy. 192 on www.floridakiss.com.

I can't remember which limo service we used (it may have been FL tours), but you do not get to choose the grocery store. They stopped at a specific store in the daytime (Publix, I think), and if that was closed, you have no choice but to go to Goodings which is very, very expensive.

ITA - we use another TC service but they usually determine where to stop based on the route they take and the time of day. Our service usually takes us to a grocery by seaworld - easy in / easy out and great prices. 9 times of 10 the driver has also offered us his frequent shopper card for the discounts. Most are pretty strict about not wanting you to take more than 30 mintues so I always have a list grouped by food types to speed things up.

Grocery delivery - I use www.wegoshop.com and they were terrific the two times I used them.

Check out the websites for gardengrocer.com and wegoshop.com for grocery delivery service.

Have heard good things about both, although I haven't use either. They operate a little differently, so see which suits your needs better.

If you are taking I-4, you could get off at Sandlake. Have the driver go to Turkey Lake Road. Any driver in this area should know how to get there. There is a brand new Super Wal-Mart on the way to WDW property. It has a very nice grocery section. In fact, it is the best grocery section I've seen in one of these type stores.

Your driver can then take Turkey Lake (turns into Palm Parkway). It will come out next to the Crossroads and Disney property.
