Passive-aggressive, maybe. Rude, no. 1001Ghosts was simply taking advantage of an unusual situation to allow her child to practice counting skills. She could have done it in any cash register line (although it'd probably be harder to view all the items in an unlimited line).

Rude is going to a cash register with an item limit, with substantially more items than that number.

Passive aggressiveness is rude, as is your need to be the spelling police.

It's strange that you find it rude to go through the line with too many items. I was thinking that you agreed with cornflake that if it isn't an enforced rule, it didn't matter.

No, peave could be a word I don't know. If it is, I'd like to know it, if for no other reason than for use in Scrabble and similar games. A typo(graphical error) generally occurs when the letters are adjacent to each other. Sometimes they're unintentionally funny - and that's the reason for my tag. "Peave" appeared to be neither a typo nor a misspelling so in an attempt to expand my knowledge when I couldn't find the information elsewhere, I asked the person who posted it.

I'm really sorry to learn it was a misspelling. It had relatively high Scrabble scoring potential.

Yes, I play Scrabble, and I was truly hoping it was a word I hadn't previously known. That's why I started searching for a definition.

Oh you did not. Someone had a typo of peave or something and you purposely acted dumb asking them what it meant when it was obviously a typo. For some odd reason you get off making people feel stupid for an innocent type.
