Grocery Store near VB

We are going to VB for the first time from February 22 to February 27. We are flying into West Palm Beach and want to stop on the way to get groceries. I know that there is a Walmart Supercentre with groceries in Vero around 20th and 58th street. This is on the way based on the directions from Mapblast. Does anyone have any other reccomendations?

Leave the resort. Go right and then left at the lights. This is Rt 510. Go a couple miles til you get to Rt 1. Go north a few miles and there is a large grocery store on the south bound side of Rt 1.
I don't think it is more that 10 minutes away from the resort.
I think it is a Publix but I can't remember. I am sure you can get
information at the resort or check the Publix and Albertson grocery stores web sites they have a store locator link.

Yes, Publix is right nearby, and it's a nice store: well laid out and well run to my eyes. Notably, it is just about a mile past Hale Groves, where we wished we had gone first, to enjoy really yummy, really fresh local Indian River citrus. At Shutters at VB they have the nerve to serve us Minute Maid juices, even tho VB is in the heart of one of the best citrus growing regions in the world (arguably, but it is darn good; we keep ordering grapefruit from Hale, imagining that it is extending our lovely time in VB).

As for directions, use the ones they give you on the resort's website, ie 95 North to the Sebastian exit (not Vero, that's too far south); The resorts directions are good directions, easy to follow. Those directions will take you right past both the Publix and Hale Groves.

Now that we have been to VB and stayed in our glorious ocean view Inn room, our family members want us to add on there and go back every January. We'll see about that. Enjoy your stay there!

I checked my old reservation confirmation. There are directions on it that should take you right past the Publix on Rt 1. The directions state to take the Rt 512 East exit off Rt 95 and follow this to Rt 1 South. You should go past the Publix on Rt 1 as you head southbound toward Rt 510. It will be on your right about halfway between Rt 512 and Rt 510. These Routes run east/west.
The address of the Publix is 9621 North Highway 1 in Sebastian, FL 32958. Good Luck!

Thanks. I thought the Mapblast directions seemed wierd but never having been there I foolishly trusted them as the experts. Obviously DIS'ers are the true experts. I will be sure to follow the resort directions and stop at the Publix. Also, does anyone know if you can pick oranges at any of the local orchards? We are from Apple country here in Ontario and a family faviourite is to go apple plicking. I was hoping to go orange picking while in Indian River county.

You had better fill in your hometown on your user profile, so folk can give you more tailored advice .

We also enjoy apple picking here in New England. I am not sure if there are any u-pick places nearby (also note that Indian River is more Grapefruit country), but the wonderfully helpful, and almost entirely local staff at the front desk and in the restaurants should be able to help you. They had lots of local knowledge (esp the Shutters waitresses).

Hi, We are going to be at Vero Beach from the 22 to the 27th also. Hope to see you there! Just DH and myself. It is our first visit to VB. after the cold we have had in the northeast any thing above 50 degrees will be welcomed. Patsy

The best way to spot us is to look for the two blond haired boys (aged 5,7) tearing around. We will be the two parents trying to keep up and grab a moments rest by the pool or on the beach (weather permitting)!

If you are coming up from WPB, you might want to consider getting off on the State Road 60 exit. This will drop you off right by the big outlet center and mall and you will also found fairly new Winn-Dixie and Publix stores along this route. You will have to kind of follow your nose down this road and over to A1A, through the real downtown of Vero and then up to the Disney resort.

Oh wait, don't they have a stand in Vero proper as well?

They did have a store in the shopping center that is next to the mall.

As you start to leave the populated VB area, there is a little farm stand on the corner of the road. They have really good tomatoes.
get your fruit from hale grove.
