I am planning on doing the list for grocery delivery on DVC website - has anyone done this? What time do they usually deliver the groceries? What if your room is not ready?
TIA

If you fax in an order to Disney, it will be delivered to your room after 5 p.m., the day you arrive They will bring it in, even if you are not there. Items that need to go in the fridge will be put in there.

It is a nice service, albeit expensive! I've done this a few times.

I have done this 2 times in the past. the only issue is that they may not have what you order, and if you were expecting it, it is a bummer. We have found it was just best to go off site and get it...if you have a car. I find that OKW's store isn't quite as extensive as the other resorts, so maybe it would be different.

Have fun.

We did Wegoshop a few weeks ago and it was great! She left the groceries with Bell Svc. and they delivered when we got back to the villa. Had everything we wanted and even looked for sales! We will definitely do that again.

We have used garden grocer twice. It worked well both times. We schedule a delivery for around the time we are arriving. Bell services will hold the items until you arrive and or your room is ready. They have a fridge to keep items as necessary. Bell svs even held our food when we transferred between resorts this week. Try gardengrocer.com.:dance3::cheer2:

I say Garden Grocer as well. We have used them twice and both times everything was perfect. Have placed an order for my upcoming trip in March.

Here's another vote for Gardengrocer. For my trip in Nov, we were not going to any parks when we arrived, so I had them deliver between 4-6pm to guarantee that we would be in our room. Holding your items in bell Services is what we will do for our next trip in Dec. They have an enormous list of very specific items/brands/sizes, so you should be able to get exactly what you need. From what I understand they will also replace an item with something else if it is in the store and you specify exactly what you want.
Good luck and have a wonderful trip!

We also love Garden Grocer! We used them in January and it was so convenient. Everything had already been delivered to Bell Services when we arrived, so we just had it brought up with our luggage. Everything was perfect, even the ice cream! GG also has the option of paying through Paypal, which I like since I do not have to charge them then. There is a $12 delivery fee, but it is free if your total is $200 or more. You also have the option of adding a tip to the bill if you would like. I liked having everything taken care of ahead of time. I would highly recommend them and it is cheaper than the food from the resort. The resort also has a very limited selection. DH thought I was brilliant for finding GG to have groceries delivered. We figured that it saved us around $127 over the meal plan for 4 nights for the two of us.

Another garden grocer vote. We just used them last week. We arrived late, they delivered earlier than we got there, left the stuff with bell services who refrigerated and brought to our room. Everything was perfect. And if you want beer or wine, they will deliver it too. You have to put it in the message section of your order and then fax your ID. And they will call you to confirm and get your cc# for the alcohol separately. Very good service, IMO.

we also used garden grocer last summer.... had two refrigerators to stock... two coinciding ressies... and they were wonderful:love:

Now here's a dumb question. Since I'm staying in a studio with really no kitchen utensils, does GG have anything like a small cutting knife you can buy as well? Don't know how I'm going to cut the tomatoes otherwise :)

We've used DVC's grocery delivery for the past few years, and it's been fine. Altho, we usually only need basic breakfast items. We usually arrive very late and it's nice to have it already in the room/fridge. There was something missing once, but they brought it asap and took the charge off.

Another vote for Garden Grocer. I actually called them from the airport the morning we left as I had forgotten Diet Coke.....a mainstay in my life. It was in my order, along with everything thing else i ordered. I would recommend them highly and will use them again my next trip.

I looked on the site and found paper/plastic items, but no "real" knives. You could try e-mailing them to see if it would be possible to purchase one with your order. I have also heard that Wego shop can pick up miscellaneous items that you might need from Walmart or where ever you prefer that they shop. I have never used them, but they receive very good reviews from people that have.

Couldn't you just pack an inexpensive knife & cutting board? As long as it is in checked baggage a knife should be fine...I think.

On our last trip, we used ME and didn't rent a car. It was such a time- and money savings to order groceries from wegoshop.com. They purchased exactly what I had ordered, but I was also very specific. The small fee for delivery was such a savings over renting a car and wasting time at a grocery store. I'm sure they would pick up a paring knife or anything else available in a grocery store. You can even select the grocery store you prefer them to shop at. I'm not sure whether they pick up alcoholic beverages, but you can ask.

How far in advance do you make the request for groceries? Going in October this year, so how far out would I make a list?;)

Just a few days...I think they like more than 24 hours notice.
