It is nice to be able to DIS while sitting outside the motorhome on a Sunday morning, enjoying a cup of coffee. It ain't the Fort, but it will do for now.

If you have plans to come to Williamsburg, the two KOA campgrounds there (less than a mile apart) have merged under one owner. We are at the Colonial section of the campground. Nice wooded sites but we had to do some leveling. Full hookup, but cable is only available on their premium 50 amp sites in this section. Bathhouses are large and CLEAN with lots of hot water and good pressure. The kids love the pool. The folks are very nice. I was quite surprised to see that the campground was nowhere near full when we pulled in. This summer is the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown, so I expected more people. Overall, a very nice campground.

Today we are heading to Busch Gardens for a day in the amusement park. Weather looks to be in the mid-80's with relatively low humidity - surprising for Tidewater Virginia in the summertime.

We were in Williamsburg the end of April. We loved it. We are military, so we stayed at the campground on the Navy base. Can't beat $12 per night. I highly recommend a trip to that area.

As for Busch Gardens, I did not like it. The theming was nice, but since I have a heart condition, I could not ride anything. I could watch the little ones ride the kiddie rides and the big ones ride the thrill rides. There was really nothing for me. Luckily we did not pay for the day. Military families get one day free a year. If I had paid for it, I would have been upset. Also, I found the food at BG more expensive and not as good as WDW. The kids had a blast, but I want my Disney World!!!

Glad to know that the KOA is nice there. I assume they have WiFi? That is the one drawback of the military campgrounds. I have yet to find one with WiFi.

Happy Camping!
