We saw the Rolling Stones at an amphitheater just outside of Branson Mo on Sunday night and it was incredible. Mick turns 81 on Friday and still prances around the stage like someone half his age. They get my vote based on longevity alone.
Rolling Stones by far and away !! They have lasted for decades and still sell out shows !!! Best concerts I myself have ever been too ymmv !! To each his own but I’ll take The Rolling Stones
I love U2, doesn't necessarily mean they're the greatest band ever. I think personal preference has a lot to do with answering this topic. My first instinct was to say the Stones.
Freddie Mercury had the most incredible voice. It’s such a shame that he passed away so young. I can’t even imagine the music Queen would have put out had he lived another 20-30 years.
It’s so difficult to pick one, because I would pick different bands for different reasons. Plus, I listened to a lot of niche bands that weren’t mainstream when I was growing up, so my favorites would never be voted best band ever. I would probably vote for ABBA if I absolutely had to pick a mainstream band. They have the hits, the longevity, the continued popularity, and I just like their sound.

This year, due to busy schedules and events etc... our vacation has turned into a staycation. Also it is this week instead of the usual time that would have been last week. We go to Branson on vacation regularly, and that would have put us there when the Rolling Stones were there. I missed out bigtime this year. I heard about the Rolling Stones being in Branson recently and I could not believe it I really wish I could have been there to see that show.
As far as greatest bands ever... just off the top of my head I would say The Beatles. I would also think the Rolling Stones would rate up near the top as well.
One that I have not seen listed yet, but I think would qualify as a pretty amazing band as far as talent goes: Rush
