Too greedy to pick only one. So much great music, so many great bands to enjoy, too many "greatest ever" to set limits.
Not Mystic days. It was just before they exploded. They were played a lot on our radio station (KROQ) and the following year we saw them several places. Including the Forum in Inglewood. We actually got to hang out with them after that show because my friend’s BF’s Mom worked at the forum. They were great. And Johnny “Vatos” was just as crazy as he seemed. Good times. Thanks for that! Was that still the Mystic Knights days? I once acquired some recordings from a lot of that old stuf f(before it was all released on the Internet). They were fun. I love how they would kind of reinvent themselves every couple of albums - the versatility was amazing. I guess when you have an experimenter like Danny at the helm that is to be expected.

Yes, I knew, but thank you for double checking. They are on tour if you didn’t know. I saw phish last night and Mohegan Sun and they had a huge ad for them coming soon. I didn’t know they were touring.
The band with the #1 selling album of the 20th century EAGLES
I love the Glenn Frey Song you referred to, one of my all-time faves.Great choice!! They are definitely in my top too.
And completely off topic but a funny story:
A couple of months ago my daughter and I were getting in the car. 80s on 8 came on and it was Glenn Fry's, You Belong to the City. I knew she wouldn't know his voice like Don Henley's so I made a bet that I would give her $100 if she could name the band this singer was in. Given this handsome reward, she was totally invested to win. Asked for hints ... NOPE, nice try kid! She debated until the end of the song and finally guessed, it was wrong. (I can't remember what band she named.) After I told her she lost but that I guaranteed she knows the band she asked for a hint. My hint was easy, I sung"on a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair" She was so annoyed! Her face when she yelled, "EAGLES!" was hysterical.
Fast forward -- now every time we hear Eagles, I get the stink eye and how I ruined them for her.![]()
For country music, I can definitely get behind this!I’m going to go with a different genre and say Alabama!
You have been reported to the Hague for crimes against humanity.Nickleback....![]()

*although I love to make fun of Nickelback and appreciate jokes, I will openly admit that I am a fan![]()
Ok I'll revise my pick to Hootie and the Blowfish.Honestly, I can't really say that I'm a fan, but they get way more hate than they actually deserve. That's a funny gif though!
I'm going to see him and Rod Stewart soon. I did see John Fogerty last year. The show was really good.CCR. John Fogerty is a great songwriter and great voice. I saw John Fogerty at The Encore in Las Vegas several months ago and what a great show.
