Great unknown tips or secrets!

Bring glow sticks from the dollar store. If one group from your party goes to the theater first to get seats - you'll never be able to find each other. If you have the glow sticks - you can wave them in the air and see the other one -- thank goodness we had those last time!

haven't read whole thread...so apologize for duplicates.

quart size freezer bags (heavier and more durable) with ice in AM and PM to keep refridgerator cold. then it is ready for any leftovers we bring back to the room. we keep a few soft drinks and waters ready at all times. Nothing beats a cold diet coke over ice (except a perfectly chilled bottle of chardonay).

use the spa showers - keeps room neat, water pressure can't be beat and so spacious compared to the rooms.

take over the door shoe organizer attached to hanger with plastic ties and store all navigators, tickets, receipts, arcade cards, etc. We keep hi-liters, post-it notes, etc. to leave messages for each other which we put on back of the door.

We use pre-printed labels for luggage tags at end of cruise and start packing bags on day before. while everyone else is packing, we are enjoying last day of our cruise.

pack black slacks, skirt and dress, different jackets, basic shoes and then mix and match.

get tip vouchers early in cruise to avoid lines. better yet plan ahead with cash and be generous if applicable (almost always is).

watch for runners from deck 4 at sail times from ports (15 cruises and never seen someone left behind but have heard of it, and seen some close calls). watch the pilot get off the boat after we sail from each port. (for those that don't know, a pilot from each port will assist captain in bringing ship in and out of each port).

enjoy sunsets from the decks (sunrises too if you happen to be one of those morning persons). This is the main reason i like 2nd dining. you have the deck to yourself as everyone else is at dinner.

this isn't a tip or secret, it is a question. Sorry!

When you give a pillowcase or shirt to Guest Services, which characters sign it if you tell them for every possible character to sign it?
THANKS! :disrocks:

On our last 7day cruise DW and I finished reading 5 books, instead of lugging them back through the airport, we inscribed them with "For the wonderful crew of the Disney Magic, from a grateful guest." We then dropped them off at Guest Services for the crew library. We asked one of our servers at Sessions about doing this.

That's an excellent idea! As I have touched on previously, for those of your who have never cruised Disney before, be prepared for the crew to blow you away! You will want to reward them in any way you can! They are phenominal!

Gosh, yes that is a brillaint idea!

The owner of our company just found the out the hard way.

If you have an Iphone. Don't bring it with you or turn it off. She left hers on and while she was in the Bahamas in continually checked for new e-mails. When they got their next bill it had a ton of overseas roaming charges from this that they had to pay.

I love this thread thank you.

Remember you can eat lunch wherever you want - our favourite meal was Triton's both dinner and lunch. We even preferred it over Palo's.

We had no idea about the lunch in the restaurants on our cruise. We always grabbed something fast either from the deck where the pools were, although one day was lunch on CC.

Another food ? - if you do lunch in the nice restaurants, is it a menu like dinner?
And what about at dinner time - if you don't want to do your required place, is the buffet open (topsiders/beach blanket buffet)?

Simple solution is to put it in "airplane mode" Turns off the cellular and broadband capabilities. At that points it's just a big iPod.

I also did not know about that on our first cruise, buffets are open at night, dont know about rest during the day though good q!

Lumiere's/Triton's is often open for lunch and it has a separate menu (similar to dinner, but lunch items, including a burger, and not as extensive a choice). The kids' menu at lunch in the dining room is the same as at dunner.

I believe the Beach Blanket Buffet/Topsiders has table service for dinner (more limited menu than main dining rooms) every night except the first and last.

Don't know if this was said already but it helped me out big time last week.

I normally sail in a Cat 6 with just two of us so we always have plenty of room to put everything away. Last week we sailed in a Cat 12. There is a lot less storage space since you don't have the trunk. As soon as we got into our room I asked the Stateroom Host to remove the bedspread from the room giving us the cabinet above the TV to put a bunch of our clothes. It worked out perfect, plus I hate hotel bedspreads :crazy2:

The best piece of advice I got off this boards years ago was: Send someone to Topsiders or BB on the morning your leaving the ship...pick up what your family wants for breakfast and bring it back to your room. I like to be able to slowly get ready instead of the mad rush to clear out. We all felt a little less rushed in the morning and we still how a full belly when we left for DW. Also, you can take with you the cereal boxes unopened if you have little ones for a snack in the car, airport, or DW. Just remember, no fruit!

If you store stuff in the space where they often put the bedspread, I'm guessing that the stateroom host will just store it somewhere else for overnight. That's one thing about unpacking early - you can fill up all the space you want / need :)

Here's a small tip...doesn't cost a thing.

Attend the DVC presentations during the week. Usually less than an hour, and they have a $300 shipboard credit that they give away. 2 meetings each cruise. Doesn't matter if you're a member or not.

We've won it twice actually, in the 4 cruises we've done.

We attended the DVC presentation on our 06/21/07 cruise. Won the $300 credit and a DVC cooler. We signed up for DVC at that point (not because of the giveaways, but because DVC is a good deal). There was only half a dozen couples in the presentation, so the odds were pretty good.

Something I learned that was kind of interesting.

The Carpet in the hallways and by the elevators has triangles facing in different directions
The red Triangle faces Aft...or the back of the ship

The Blue Triangle faces Forward to the Bow or front of ship
so if your ever lost you can make it to your stateroom quicker.

Do they only do this on the 7 day cruises? Or also on the 3/4 night?
