Hi all-We're baaack! Had a great time, despite bad weather. I'm working on our trip report, but meantime, we're looking to book 2/19/05. I updated the countdown clock.
I want to thank everyone on these boards for making my trip so wonderful. I spotted a few DIS'ers on board, but suddenly felt so shy! My son was hanging out with moocow's son-(he had a ball!)
Unfortunatly, DD 6, came down with an ear infection on saturday(2/21). She was cranky all week, but I had attibuted this to all the excitement, poor sleep-etc. Now in retrospect, I can see she was probably coming down with this for a few days. Her fever spiked saturday to 104. Scary! So, the rest of the day was nasty.
All week long, she only wanted to be in the club. We spent a few hours, randomly, at the pools. The last night she ate dinner with her club. We never made it to Palo-at all! We canceled all of our ressies!
I saw my son when he woke up, and then at dinner. That's it! asked him if he would go again, he said only during President's week! He loved all the kids-made alot of friends.
So, a few observations.
The food was great. On par with RCCL, NCL and Costa.
Shore excursions-Grand Cayman-I regret the Stingray City tour-too many boats anchored in same location.
Cozumel-Disney canceled all excursions due to bad weather. Next time, I will book directly with Dolphin Discovery.
Castaway Cay-the usual complaint-too short! DCL really needs to address this. DS on the Wild Side excrusion, DD at Scuttles Cove, Me and DH at Serenity Bay! Perfect!
Our servers, Roberto and Irwin-fabulous. Oh, and that "excellent" speech-we only heard it once- Thursday night.
Money-I overspent at Shutters, and for drinks. I don't drink alcohol, so all the "virgins" add up!
I did send out our clothes to be pressed the first day-great tip and worth the cost.
We didn't do tuxedos and gowns, just suits and dresses. DS didn't pack his "good" shoes. He wore sneakers on formal night-nobody said a word.
Enough for now-This turned into a trip report!
