Wow! these r good deals I am really interested in buying but just can't fit it in the budget right now! I wish I could my father has his own DVC now and has for apprx 5-6 yrs! I can't wait until I can buy my own!

I just purchased 320 points (broken into two contracts) over at AKL (August 2007 Use Year) and they gave me the following deal:

320 Points From 2007
320 Points in Aug 2008
200 Developer Points as an incentive
$96/per point after incentive.

So apparently there are other tiers for higher point purchases! I figured it was a good deal before Contemporary starts selling and they raise the prices. I also had a referral too so I think that helps with Developer points..

I just visited the open house at the DVC in Orlando and they had a use month of Dec for AKL and August for SSR, did you have the ability to ask for the Aug use month? Did you have to mention another member to get the developer points, if so, does the person who referred you get any rewards? Did your guide let you know the amount of dev points available based on how many points you purchase? Lastly, if anyone is willing to refer me, I am looking to take purchase tomorrow if the developer points are trully available.

Sorry for all the questions, but I want to make sure I am getting the best deal and my guide did not mention anything about bonus dev points and I wonder if there are other deals I might be missing.

You can request a different use year. Yes you need a members name to get the bonus points.

Well thats one thing I am not good at it your UY.I know we have an April one and we travel at diffrent tims of the year and never had a problem.
I hope someone with more knowledge than I have can help you.

December and not too happy about that but I think we can make it work....actually we have to make it work right?? haha

I have a son with special needs (we actually bought it for him) who can get really sick, we like to travel in Dec. so I hope this wasn't a dumb move!

That makes it a perfect use year for you! Your use year starts on December 1, so any reservations in December can be cancelled and you will have almost a full year to either make another reservation or bank the points.

December would be bad if you like to travel in October or November, but travelling in December or the spring is perfect.

I'm contemplating about buying into AKL very soon but your deal looks better compared with what the disneyland/california guide told us: 200 2007/2008; 160 developer points plus 2 annual passes but for $104/point. I thought the point cost was $96. Where is DWTD? Thanks.

DWTD is Doorway to Dreams in Schaumburg, Il. We didn't have to have a referral. That deal was supposed to have ended Mon. My daughter is in from college and we are heading over to Woodfield Mall where DWTD is so she can see the villa model. I will ask if there are any other incentive programs going on. Great experience very nice guides/cm's.

Just got off the phone with a DVG from Orlando and she confirmed that the dev points incentive has ended. She also mentioned that the new promo when you have a referral is a $500 disney gift card. Has anyone else heard this, I wish you could get both promos...

Some one else said that was the new promo now. but if you had talked to your guide and told him you wanted to purchase before the end date of the other you should be ble to get it.But you would not be able to do both though.

So we just purchased DVC on Sunday. The last day of incentives. We received the two annual passes but only 100 developer points.

Since I'm very new to DVC can someone please explain the difference in the UY?

Just bought akl 200 with dec uy 2008. Also got 2007 points + 200 developer points + 2 annual passes + 500 disney cash card. Didn't get the discount however, still paid 104/pt. Thanks to all for their help.
