We recently had a wonderful meal at Sanaa. I would highly recommend it. It has a nice blend of African and Indian spices. I had a meal where I was able to choose two different types of meat and being one who isn't too decisive, I chose the red curry chicken and the green curry shrimp. The red curry had a bit of heat which was fine since I like things a little spicy. the green curry had some coconut milk which gave it a smooth flavor. Both had excellent flavor and I was happy with my choice. My wife and son split a dish between them. I can't remember what they ordered, but what really impressed me was how helpful the waiter was with my son's nut allergy. Often it is up to us to mention that he has a food allergy, but this waiter asked us the question right up front. Once he heard of the allergy he gave us his recommendations on the meal selection but then had the chef come and visit us and share some additional information. My son who is 11 can be a picky eater and given his preference would choose chicken nuggets and french fries; however even he was very happy with the meal. The meal was enhanced by the wonderful view outside the window onto the savannah. When we return to WDW, this will certainly be one of the restaurants that we will seek out.

Looking forward to our ressie in November. We stayed at AK -Kindani last year but we are not staying there this year. I just have to go back for a visit. My 11 year old daughter would eate chicken nuggets and fries every day if she could, so she will most likely order from the kids menu (we are paying OOP):). Maybe just maybe I can influence her to try something new.

Can't wait October 16th @ 6:00 pm is right around the corner.:cool1: This will be our first time trying Sanaa. Do you remember if the tandoori lamb was still on the menu? Allears does not list this any more on the dinner menu.

Thanks

Thanks for the review. We are eating at Sanaa for the first time next week - can't wait!

Thanks for the review. I'm indecisive about this restaurant. Although my family loves Indian food, we are going to be traveling with a teen whose mother is Indian this trip... so I'm going back and forth as to whether this will be comfort food for her or bland and we should try something different.

How did the food compare to more traditional Indian restaurants?

We love Sanaa after our first visit in August! Great food, excellent service and a beautiful restaurant and view. Great combination!!! :goodvibes

We ate at Sanaa on Oct. 30 after a lovely day at the Animal Kingdom. We do not usually eat Indian style food, but after reading some reviews here on the Dis we decided to try it.

We payed OOP for the bread service appetizer and we gobbled it up.

I ordered the Tandoori chicken and it was delicious. I enjoyed some of the sauces from the bread service with it and it came with a couple other sauces.

DH who doesn't like spicy food had the sustainable fish with scallops and shrimp, he ate it all.

The children's menu isn't nearly as adventurous. Both of my children ordered the Meaty Macaroni and ate all of their portions.

DH ordered the chocolate cake, without the sorbet (I don't know why) it was a tiny piece of cake.

I ordered the dessert sampler and it was really delicious, one of my favorite desserts on the trip. I drink a lot of chai tea and so the Chai Creme was :cloud9:heavenly.

DD ordered the tapioca pudding on the kids menu and she liked it but didn't finish it.

DS ordered the chocolate cake from the kids menu and really liked it, but it was the same size as DH's piece of cake. :rolleyes1

Our server was attentive and very helpful. She said most menu items were medium spiced, but they could be made spicier if we wish. I thought things were pretty mild, but very good.

Wilver,

I have an adr for end of this month. OMG, I did not realize it was coming soon. Anyway, my 11 y/o son has a peanut nut allergy too. So I was wondering if you can tell me what your son ate? Mine is kind of picky, likes burgers, italian and pizza etc. But good food. What was available for him to eat? I am still debating this restaurant b/c of him.

thanks so much!
