Great Dolphin View

I jsut had to let all you fellow DIS'ers know: I had the opportunity to stay just one night at the Dolphin a week ago. I was assigned to room 16-099. Remember that number. By far it was the best view of Disneyworld I've ever seen. I was right above the cascading clamshell waterfall. To the left, I could watch all of Illuminations, to the right I could see MGM. Far in the distance, I could see Downtown Disney, and the Cirque du Soleil tent, and Pleasure Island. This room had no balcony, but the view was spectacular. Right below, there was a clear view of the Boardwalk. At 6 a.m., the lights were still on all over Disneyworld, and I watched, fascinated, as they went out in the various areas and night turned into day, and another magical day began at the World. I just hated to leave that magical place.

Was this room a standard room or something else (ie. king, club, etc.). Will be there in early December!!!!

Thanks!!

disney fool ~ Wow - lucky you! Your description made me long for another trip and another stay at the Dolphin. Although, our view was not as spectacular.

Love your discription. Sounds like a fabulous view!

Disney Fool,

I know just what you are talking about. We were in 15093 last December, and we had the same view. It was awesome.

:p

Sounds like a beautiful view and makes me wish I was going back to the Dolphin this year (doing Vegas instead)!:D

It was a standard room, but I didn't care! The view was worth it. I really didn't want to leave.

Room 8029. We faced the "big ball", could see Boardwalk, perfect view of Illuminations fireworks on our balcony each night at 9 p.m. - and basked in the sunshine with our coffee each morning. We are Starwood Gold and they tried to put us up in the club level rooms - but I feel the best of all worlds is the club level privileges BUT staying in the balcony room.

Write it on your forehead....room 8029. Ahh! Perfection. I LOVED the balcony....it added immeasurably to my vacation....oh that free club level food did too - but you gotta try the balcony rooms. We paid $204/ni - (AAA rate was available late in the game but would have been $237 with Entertainment book) -

I am a picky ***** and I loved 8029. We just got back this morning and I think the room will be renovated soon as they sent guys in to measure the room right as we were checking out....with new bedspreads and drapes this will be our favorite hotel ever.....

Staying at Dolphin April 19-26th in a Junior Suite. WHat would be a great room number to request for our stay?

I would ask if they have a junior suite with access to the Central Elevators, and a view facing the Swan, preferably high up, floors 12 and up. Not knowing where the junior suites are all located, I can't be sure if this is even do-able. Maybe someone else knows?
