Great deal @ Target - Glade flameless candles

I tried yesterday to print out that B1G1F coupon and never could. It would look like it was printing then it would just shut down and nothing prints. Then I cleared all cookies and everything else and it printed off a $2.00 coupon instead of the B1G1F so I gave up.

Went to Target in Lewisville, Texas this morning - they have TONS of these candles and other Glade candles are marked down. I got one of the Glade candles in the holder where the candle melts down and burns in a glass dish - marked down to $4.29 and I had a $4.00 coupon = .29.

Then I got just a plain Glade candle in the jar - marked down to $1.49 - $1.00 = .49. so I felt like I got a deal even though I couldn't get the coupon I wanted to print.

The same exact think happened to me, my coworker was able to print them and we made copies. We used them on lunch and each got 4 candles for $20 and $20 back in gift cards. Good deal!! Thanks OP.

Thanks so much for posting this. What a deal!! Went to my local Target today with my b1g1 coupon and had no trouble using it and received my two $5 Gift Cards. I paid $9.74 for two so it was like them giving me $ .26 to buy them. :yay:

Can someone tell me what an electric candle base is and where would I find one? I thought this flameless candle was what DN was talking about but now I think it might be something else![/QUOTE said:
Most Hallmark stores and gift shops will have them.

I'm not really sure what that is. Could she mean a candle warmer? Like this:

You can find these at Target, Wal-mart, Hallmark stores.

I did not have nearly as good of luck as the rest of you. I went to 3 different Targets tonight with the B1G1 coupons with NO LUCK. I was trying to purchase 2 of the candles and one refill. First Target: sold out of the Glade wisps. Second Target: Cashier told me I could not use the coupons since it was already a promotional item with the $5 gift card. She wouldn't even scan my items and refused to scan the items so I left. Third Target: The cashier scanned all the items, scanned the coupons, and I realized that the B1G1 coupon only took off $2.50 so I explained that it should have taken off the full amount of the candle. Well she said the system wouldn't let her do that and she'd have to get a manager to override the system. Manager came over and explained that I couldn't use the coupon since it was already a promotional item with the gift card (basically what the other cashier told me at the second store). She said loss prevention would flag it and their store could get in trouble for doing that. :confused3 I explained that I knew other people had used the coupon at other Targets so I knew it could be done. She then said that it must have been "new cashiers" who didn't know any better and just overrode the system. Any advice?? Should I try yet another Target before the sale is up???

I think there are 2 barcodes on that bogo coupon. Make sure they are scanning the right one. (I only say this because the same thing happened to me, they scanned the wrong one and it took 2.50 off and I said, "um no" and then she scanned the other one and said, "oh there are 2 barcodes") I'd try again. good luck. maggie

I went to my closest Target to get this deal. They only had 2 of the candles and I couldn't find anyone to ask about more in the back. But, I did get those 2 and 2 refills.

When the cashier first rang up my order, it only took $2.50 off of my candles. I pointed it out to her and she took all of the coupons back off and scanned the refill coupons first, then the candle coupon and it took off the whole amount.

She also offered to add the second $5.oo gift card to the first, but the system wouldn't let her add it, so she had to do it on 2 cards. The gift cards she gave me, she just grabbed off of the shelf. They are the Christmas gift cards, made to look like a wrapped gift and in a gift card holder.I didn't think about using the 2 of them to buy a single card. Good idea!

I guess I'm off to another Target tomorrow to try to find more candles.

I went to my Target yesterday and got the deal... 4 candles (all they had was apple, that was fine with me). When I took it to my cashier, she rang it up no problem, I got all that I expected. And then she stopped and said, wow, this is a good deal! I said I know! And I told her the website to get the coupons. And then she said, "Yeah, and I can use my Target employee discount, and I have a % off coupon too!" LOL I said, lucky you! :)

Just FYI, when you copy these, the store only gets credit for the original printed one because they have unique codes. This is why many stores in my area no longer take any internet coupons. It may seem like a good idea in the short term but it may come back to bite you and others in the future.

I think the reason so many people are having trouble with the B1G1 free coupon is the order in which the coupon is scanned. If you are getting candle and the refills, it is very important that they scan the B1G1 free coupon after they scan the actual candle, NOT the refill. The coupon will attach itself to the refill price, which is $2.50. I had the same problem the first time I did this. Tonight, I made sure that they scanned the coupon immediately after she rang in the second candle.
Have the cashier scan your first candle, the register will beep for them to scan the $5.00 gift card, have them scan the second candle, again the register will beep for the second $5.00 gift card, THEN hand them the coupon. When it is scanned it will show the $9.XX price and it will come right off.
The first time I handed her the coupons at the end of the entire transaction and it only took of the $2.50 price for the refill. Hope this makes sense because I sort of confused myself while I was typing it! :lmao:

That makes sense to me because my coupon took off the other glade candle I was getting that was marked down to 2.07 instead of taking off my wisp candle. I may go back tomorrow and get a couple for Christmas gifts, but I will make sure not to get any other glade candle product so there is no problem this time.

I think the problem we are all having is because we have additional Glade products(ie...the refills) in our order. Probably an easier thing to do would be to have the candles rung up separately.

I work as a cashier at Target, and I couldn't figure out the receipt either :confused3

I had to go home and add everything up, and then take off the coupons to see if I really BOGO. I had other stuff in the cart as well, which confused me as well....doesn't take much sometimes

I printed the coupons but we don't have any Targets near us. :( None in the whole state! I wonder what the prices are in Walmart for these.

price was 6.97 for candle and 2.98 for refills. The local target was all out. So if you add it all up it comes to approx $9 if you have both printout of coupon. Granted you do not get the $10 gift cards.

are you receiving $20 in target GC??

If you printout 2 coupons and get 4 candles in total then you get $20 in Target gc's :)

Given the problems that some have experienced, I would suggest to anyone else looking to do this deal that you check out with the candles and nothing else (especially nothing Glade related.) I had absolutely no problem with mine. The cashier scanned my coupons and the register immediately took off the full price of the item. No crazy math on my receipt.

Also, please don't make photocopies of these coupons and distribute them. Many retailers are just now getting back into accepting internet/printed coupons. Each coupon printed with link provided also has a unique code generated at the top right hand corner of the coupon. Retailers are only paid for unique codes. Once a code has been used they are no longer paid for that coupon. If you want additional couponm, try clearing your cookies or using a different computer to print those coupons :)

I know that the scented oil candles Trio starter kit is on sale as well. Maybe that is what pp is referring to.:confused3

And if you go to coupons.com you can print out BOGO for the oil candle holders, and a $1.50 off for a refill. (it will allow you to print 2) The 3 pack also qualifies for the $5 gift card :cool1:
