Great Deal on AKV UY Oct pts..but question

So we bit on a deal from our guide....
October UY for AKV
100 pts, $19 discount pp
get 08 UY pts free before 09
split down payment in half w remainder due in 30 days.
We just agreed yesterday and see the pts are in our account today. However we don't see the ability to bank these 100 pts although our guide indicated we would be able to bank those points. I do plan on giving MS a call tomorrow but was wondering if anyone had dealt with this type of situation before.

You don't see the option on-line because the banking deadline is May 31 for an Oct UY. Since this is a new purchase, they should bank them for you if you call them.

We just purchased a couple of weeks ago. The points showed up on line very quickly, but as with you it said that we could not bank current use year points.

When we called to make our first reservation, they banked them for us, though, no problem. I think the issue is that until closing you can't bank the points separate from making a reservation, but if you do it in conjunction with a reservation it's ok.

Sure there is. Call your Guide and tell him/her that you are having second thoughts because others are getting a better deal. I bet you get the same deal.

What did that make your Price per point come out to be? I am a Oct UY for AKV.

That is a fantastic offer I was told for 100pts that it was $99 a point your deal makes it $93 a point doesn't it?

Did you have a choice of UY?

Is this an add on or first purchase?

It sounds like the deal is for current members as we can add on contracts at AKV at the 100 point level with the same incentives that new members get at the 160 level.

well i just got off the phone with dvc and bought into the akv for 100pts i am a new member and the 100 pt deal is good for new members, but the only difference is you pay 99 a point and u can not get an extra referral discount at that point level. but i have one question i got an oct uy with the 08 point as well the guide told me she could not bank my 08 points for me but i thought i read here that new members were able to bank them even if they missed the deadline. if any one can help me with this it would be great since im going in november and i dont want to lose those pionts.

There have been reports that they have offered this from time to time, but there is no guarantee. I guess you could ask again, but barring that, your only real option is to try to rent the points to someone that has a vacation before the end of October. Or perhaps you could ask for a December use year?

Why would they offer them (2008 points), make you pay MF's and then not bank them....even if it is Oct UY....they sold the points and then you can't bank them? That's terrible.

the guide actually warned me that the points expire and that she did not think i was going to be able to bank them. but i read here that some people called ms to book there ressie and there points got banked for them since it was anew contract, so i guess im gambling to scorre a extra 100pts.

I purchased additional AKV October UY points in June and was able to bank the 2008 points even though it was already past the banking period. This is very common with DVC so don't worry.

I just bought a contract last week with a December UY and got 2008 points. I had no problem banking them by calling MS, even though I was a month past the banking deadline. I can't believe you will have a problem banking those points. If the MS CM refuses to bank them, ask them to check with someone else. That happened to me last year and I wasn't making a ressie at the same time. They banked them.

I was told by the guide at the LI event that we did not get 08 points, but it was $13 off per point. I called my guide (from the past 9 years), she said we DO get the 08 points with the $13 off, but we wouldn't get the 08 points if we took the $19 off a point (but the $19 off wasn't offered at the LI event).

Same here!! Oct. UY also. I was told NO by my guide and a Supervisor. Only could get 08 points if there was no incentives at all... full price.

I'm glad for you... what an awesome deal. I just wish they were consistent with what they offer. So I ended up with Oct. UY and 09 points only.
